Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Submarine Drop
Paradise, near an unnamed deserted island.
The three-masted ship "Blood Shark," flying a skull and crossbones flag, was slowly approaching the shore. The blood-stained shark flag on its mast fluttered in the wind.
On deck, the pirates were laughing wildly, the sound of clinking glasses echoing continuously. The air was filled with the pungent smell of the sea and alcohol.
"Hahaha! Captain! Isn't our route... a little too close to the G-3 base?" a burly man with a face full of scars and a necklace of human bones around his neck said with a worried look as he chugged his drink. "I hear that place is guarded by the 'Hero of the Marines,' Garp!"
At the bow, a man nearly three meters tall, bare-chested and covered in strange, bloody tattoos, slowly turned around. It was a face covered in countless scars and burns, with blood-red eyes and a grin that revealed jagged fangs.
"Blood Shark" Samael.
Bounty: 320 million Berries.
User of the Zoan-type Fish-Fish Fruit, Ancient Model: Megalodon.
He crushed the wine barrel in his hand and laughed arrogantly, his voice hoarse and low. "Garp? Hahaha! Just an old dog! If he really runs into me, I'll tear him to shreds!"
"WOOHOO—!!!"
The pirates instantly erupted, banging their swords and waving their torches, as excited as a pack of beasts about to slaughter a village.
"The captain is mighty!"
"Old dog Garp is nothing! The Marines are nothing!"
"Hahaha! We are the Blood Shark Pirates! The future tigers of the New World!"
Samael stepped onto the ship's rail, looking down at the dilapidated port on the shore, his eyes bloodthirsty. "Men! We're having a feast tonight! Women, wine, and meat, bring them all to me! Tomorrow, we'll charge into the New World and take down the territories of Whitebeard and Kaido!"
"OHHH—!!!"
The pirates were at the peak of their excitement, eager to wash the entire island in blood right now.
But just then—
"C-Captain!!"
A tall, thin navigator suddenly collapsed to the ground in fear, pointing at the sea in the distance. "A-A warship is coming!"
Samael's whole body stiffened, his breathing stopping for half a second. "Wh-What?!"
"Please don't be Garp, please don't be Garp..." he screamed internally as he spun around, his blood-red eyes fixed on the sea. A standard Marine warship was cutting through the waves. On its bow stood two people. One was a man with a long sword at his waist and a cold expression. The other was a black-haired boy in a Marine uniform, his arms crossed.
No Garp.
Samael was stunned for two seconds, then burst into a wild laugh. "Hahahahaha! You scared me!"
He ripped off his tattered cape, revealing a body of solid muscle covered in bite marks and scars, as if countless vengeful souls were wailing on his skin. It was a terrifying sight.
"Hey, men!" He glared at the crew with his blood-red eyes, his voice hoarse but his grin savage. "Look closely! These two brats who don't know their place, I'm going to chop them up and soak them in wine!"
"WOOHOO!!!"
On deck, the pirates' ugly nature was on full display. They sneered, screamed, and spat, their filthy, bloody flag waving wantonly behind them, as if symbolizing their cruelty and arrogance.
"Hahaha! What are the Marines! They're not even ants in front of my Blood Shark Pirates!"
"Aim all the cannons at them! I want to watch them get blown to bits!"
The crew frantically operated the cannons. Wine bottles and bones rolled on the deck, making a harsh clattering sound.
On the warship, Bogard had one hand on the hilt of his sword, his expression as calm as water. "The opponent is 'Blood Shark' Samael, an Ancient Zoan user with a bounty of 320 million."
Roy had his arms crossed, his black hair fluttering slightly in the wind, his gaze as cold as the deep sea. "Mm."
Bogard raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "Should we retreat?"
Roy shook his head, a sharp light flashing in his eyes. "No need."
The next second, he slowly raised his hand. Armament Haki, like flowing black metal, covered his entire arm. His indifferent voice sounded in the sea breeze—
"I alone am enough."
A slight smile appeared on Bogard's lips. "Heh... then let me see the results of Mr. Garp's special training."
"Swish!"
Roy's figure vanished like a ghost.
"Hm?!"
Samael's pupils constricted. He felt a blur in front of his eyes, and the figures of the two kids on the distant warship had become one.
"Where did he go?!"
The next second—
"BOOM—!!"
The deck of the "Blood Shark" suddenly exploded. A black shadow, carrying a terrifying wave of air, instantly swept across the entire ship.
"Finger Pistol: Instant Pressure!"
"CRACK!"
The throat of a sword-wielding pirate was precisely pierced. He couldn't even scream before he fell backward.
"Tempest Kick: Flash!"
The slash wave refracted in the air, creating several crescent moons. Five pirates were instantly cut in half at the waist. Blood sprayed, splattering on the already blood-stained deck of the Blood Shark.
"Bastard! What the hell is this thing!!"
"He's a Devil Fruit user! Use the Seastone nets!!"
The pirates were in a panic, pulling out specially made fishing nets coated with Seastone powder in an attempt to restrain him. But Roy's figure was as fast as a phantom. Each flash was accompanied by the fall of a pirate, the blood creating a scene like a hellish battlefield.
"Swish! Swish! Swish!"
Cold sweat beaded on Samael's forehead, and his bloody tattoos seemed to tremble. "This guy... what kind of monster is he?!"
Just then, Roy's figure appeared right in front of him, his black hair flying in the wind, his gaze as cold as a blade. "It's your turn."
Samael roared in anger, "Don't look down on me!!"
"Full Beast Form!"
"ROAR!!"
The bloody tattoos writhed wildly. His body swelled to several times its size, transforming into an ancient megalodon over ten meters long. Its fangs were sharp, and its bloody maw snapped at Roy.
Roy's expression was blank. He coated his right fist in black Armament Haki and threw a punch.
"Teleport: Iron Fist!"
"BOOM!!"
The fist and fangs collided violently. The shockwave was like a storm, directly sending the deck debris flying.
"CRACK!!"
Samael's fangs... were shattered right before everyone's eyes.
"Uwaaah!!"
The megalodon-form Samael let out a heart-wrenching scream. His massive body was sent flying by the violent impact, smashing into the port and raising a cloud of dust.
Roy's figure flashed, teleporting into the air above the port. He stared down at the frantically thrashing megalodon on the ground, his eyes cold and merciless. He teleported again, grabbing Samael's shark head. His Haki-coated giant arm clamped down on it like an iron pincer, and then he teleported high into the air.
"Teleport: Submarine Drop!"
"BOOM!!!"
The ground seemed to be torn apart. A giant black shadow fell from the sky, accompanied by a sonic boom.
"BOOM—!!!"
The megalodon crashed into the ground of the port like a meteor. The shockwave created a giant wave over ten meters high, and the entire pier collapsed into a massive crater amidst the shaking ground.
Dust filled the air, debris flew, and the sea churned endlessly.
After a long while, Roy slowly walked out from the edge of the crater, holding the white-eyed, battered, and foaming-at-the-mouth Samael in his right hand. He casually tossed him onto the deck like a dead fish.
"Mission complete."
On the warship, Bogard's pupils constricted violently. He looked at the giant crater in disbelief. "Was... was that Vice Admiral Garp's 'Submarine Drop'?"
The wind blew through Roy's black hair. He looked down, a slight smile on his lips. "That's right."
"I've been working hard to learn the old man's Fist Bone."
When Roy stepped into the G-3 branch holding the massive Samael, the entire base instantly erupted.
"Hey, hey! Isn't that 'Blood Shark' Samael?!"
"The great pirate with a bounty of 320 million, taken down single-handedly by the 13-year-old Roy?!"
"So strong! Captain Roy is a monster!"
"Ahhh! So cool!"
The soldiers' eyes were wide, as if they were watching a hero from a myth return.
Garp had already mixed into the crowd, holding a large bag of rice crackers. When he saw Roy carrying Samael, his mouth dropped open into an 'O' shape, and then he burst into a heaven-shaking laugh without any courtesy. "Wahaha! Well done!"
He slapped Roy on the back with a "BANG!", almost knocking him into the ground.
Roy staggered from the slap, nearly throwing out his back. "Mr. Garp, can you be a little gentler..."
Garp didn't hear him at all. He turned to Bogard and shouted, "Hey! Bogard! Prepare a victory feast! We're eating meat tonight! I'm firing up the big stove!"
Bogard's mouth twitched. "Yes, Mr. Garp."
The soldiers, while staring at Samael's body, couldn't help but discuss, "I hear he even used 'Submarine Drop'? Isn't that Vice Admiral Garp's move?"
"Captain Roy actually learned that move. That's insane!"
Just as things were getting lively, a communications soldier ran over, out of breath, holding a Transponder Snail. "Report! A call from Fleet Admiral Sengoku!"
Garp pursed his lips and picked his nose with a look of disgust. "Tsk, that old geezer Sengoku always calls at times like this."
He lazily answered the Transponder Snail. "Hello? Hello? If you have something to say, say it quick!"
A roar instantly erupted from the other end. "Garp! You let Roy go out on his own again?! Against a 300 million Berry pirate, and he's only 13!"
Garp nonchalantly ate his rice crackers. "Well, what's there to worry about? He won, didn't he?"
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end, then the voice suddenly changed to Vice Admiral Tsuru's gentle but exasperated tone. "Roy, well done. You've worked hard."
Roy stood at attention and saluted. "Thank you, Vice Admiral Tsuru!"
Tsuru chuckled lightly. "But, remember to bring backup next time. Don't follow Garp's reckless ways, understand?"
Roy nodded solemnly. "Understood."
After the call ended, Garp excitedly threw an arm around Roy's shoulder. "Hahaha! Did you hear that? Even Tsuru praised you! Not bad, not bad! Well done!"
He suddenly looked smug. "That move isn't something just anyone can use. I used to smash countless guys with that move back in the day!"
Roy smiled wryly. "Old man, you taught it to me personally. I only managed to copy about seventy or eighty percent of it."
Garp laughed. "Wahaha! Seventy or eighty percent is enough! In the future, my signature move will have to rely on you to carry it forward!"
Bogard rubbed his forehead helplessly nearby. "Mr. Garp, can you please not praise him and give him more work at the same time..."
Roy looked at the lively base before him, listening to the cheers and laughter of his comrades, a slight smile on his lips.
