The Nihilos: Trash Player Who Rewrote Reality

Chapter 42: Chapter 41 – "The Other Chosen"

The morning sun rose too fast.

Raven barely slept. The message, the voice, the static behind his eyes—it hadn't stopped. Even now, in the soft glow of breakfast light, he felt like something was watching through him.

Sol sat silently by the table, sharpening a short blade he claimed was "just for self-defense." Ava poked at her food. None of them spoke much. Not since last night.

Not since that memory flickered.

The stillness was broken when the doorbell rang.

Raven stood up cautiously. He glanced at Sol, who gave a slight nod.

He opened the door.

No one was there.

Just a black envelope on the floor.

It bore the EvoCore seal — but distorted, like a corrupted asset.

He picked it up, hands tense.

Inside was a single line:

> "We found another."

And a location.

His stomach sank.

---

The location wasn't far. An old research wing beneath an abandoned hospital on the city's edge. Raven, Ava, and Sol moved quietly through cracked tiles and exposed wires. The place smelled of dust and rot — but underneath, something sterile. Cold.

A vault door stood sealed at the end of the hall.

Sol placed a hand on it. "It's recent. Someone's been maintaining this."

Raven stepped forward. He held the black envelope out, and the scanner blinked green.

The door opened.

Inside: a massive pod. Suspended in it, a boy — maybe 18 — breathing slowly, surrounded by streams of code and data like liquid glass.

On the screen:

> Name: REDACTED

Status: Bio-Syncing Complete

Class: Nihilos Proxy

Estimated Wake Time: 03:12:58

Raven stepped closer.

His own reflection flickered over the glass tube. The boy inside looked... similar. Not in face, but in the aura — that same broken static he'd seen once in himself. But sharper.

He clenched his fist.

> "How many of us were there?"

Sol stepped beside him. "They didn't just pick you."

Ava looked worried. "Is he… dangerous?"

The pod beeped once.

> [Sync Spike Detected – 78% → 91%]

Suddenly, alarms began to whine low in the walls.

Red lights pulsed.

> [Containment Breach Predicted – Lockdown Recommended]

The boy inside opened his eyes.

But they weren't blue like Raven's.

They were white.

Empty.

And he smiled.

---

Meanwhile...

Back at EvoCore HQ, Kyra stood in front of a control panel, her expression unreadable.

One technician shouted, "The Proxy is waking up early! He's bypassing filter checks!"

Another gasped. "Ma'am — we have two Nihilos-class codes running in the network now!"

Kyra didn't flinch. Her eyes focused on a single log window flashing silently:

> [Error: Raven-Class Conflict Detected]

[System Request: Choose Primary Vessel]

She whispered to herself:

> "It's begun."
