Chapter 9: Chapter 9
After putting on her clothes, Siliu originally planned to wash the clothes she had worn earlier, but Amu took them from her to wash instead.
"I'll wash them. You sit over there and rest for a bit. Once I'm done, we'll head back," Amu said with a smile.
Naturally, he thought it was something he should do.
After all, the little female's skin was incredibly delicate, and he was afraid washing clothes might rub her hands raw.
If that happened, he'd be upset.
"Okay, I'll just watch you wash," Siliu said, not saying more. She sat down on a stone, resting her chin on her hand, watching Amu wash the clothes. The sun warmed them both, making the atmosphere very comfortable.
From time to time, Amu would turn his head and smile at Siliu when their eyes met.
Being watched by the little female while washing clothes brought him immense satisfaction.
It felt as though the only thing in her eyes was himself.
"Amu, look, there are fish over there!" Siliu suddenly exclaimed when she saw fish in the river.
Wow, she didn't expect there to be fish.
She hadn't noticed them when she was bathing earlier.
"Do you like eating fish?" Amu asked Siliu.
If the little female liked fish, he could catch more for her.
"Yes, yes, I love fish! Catch them quickly; they're going to swim away," Siliu said, standing up eagerly, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the fish in the river.
She looked so adorable.
"Wait here; I'll catch them for you," Amu said with a smile.
He raised his hand, and a wind blade sliced through the water, creating a vortex like a tornado. The fish were immediately disoriented and floated to the surface, unable to move.
Siliu watched in shock, her mouth slightly open, amazed.
So impressive!
She hadn't expected Amu's wind ability to be used like this.
It was so convenient.
In an instant, more than a dozen fish were disoriented.
She was about to go down to collect them when Amu stopped her.
"Aren't you going to pick up the fish?" Siliu asked in confusion.
"No need to go down. Just watch," Amu said. He raised his hand again, and a gust of wind lifted the fish from the surface of the water, blowing them onto the shore.
After witnessing this, Siliu was utterly stunned.
So simple!
This was really magical!
"Amu, you're amazing!" Siliu clapped her hands excitedly and, on impulse, kissed his face lightly while standing on tiptoe.
"If you like it, I'll get more for you," Amu said, feeling a bit proud.
After all, it was the first time the little female had kissed him so willingly.
His heart was soaring!
Seeing the little female so happy made him feel very happy as well.
"Okay," Siliu said, looking up at him with a starry-eyed expression.
What should she do? He really spoiled her.
"Wait here," Amu said, gently patting Siliu's head. He then used his wind ability again to gather even more fish.
When the fish regained their senses, they started flopping around on the shore.
Siliu was beyond thrilled, watching the sight.
This was the first time she had seen so many fish jumping.
"That should be enough. Stay here while I clean the fish and string them up to take back," Amu said.
"You're really clever! This big string of fish looks great! Now that you mention it, I am feeling a bit hungry," Siliu smiled and said.
She was craving fish.
"Wait a moment. I'll transform into my beast form. You can ride on my back, and we'll head back faster that way," Amu said, before transforming into a two-meter-tall spotted deer, his impressive antlers giving him a majestic air.
It was Siliu's first time seeing Amu's true form, and she was amazed to be so close to such a beautiful spotted deer. She reached up to touch its big head and the majestic antlers, feeling thrilled.
"Hop on," Amu said, bending his front legs and lowering his back so that Siliu could sit comfortably.
"Mm-hmm," Siliu said, climbing onto the deer's back, her face showing excitement.
Amu then hung the fish strung on vines from his antlers, and they began their journey back.
Siliu sat sideways on the deer's back since her skirt was too short, and if she sat normally, it would be too revealing.
Sitting sideways, she held onto the base of the antlers with both hands, her eyes curiously scanning the surroundings.
The view from two meters high was amazing.
The air was so fresh.
This was her first time riding a deer, and she was feeling exhilarated.
Along the way, they encountered a number of beastmen who greeted them, and Amu responded to each one.
Some of the females near the river couldn't help but envy Siliu.
After all, Amu was the youngest and most heroic male beastman in their tribe, and many females wanted to be his mate, but he had ignored them all.
So this little female must be the one who had made Amu willingly become her mate.
She must be really beautiful.
However, some of them were also questioning whether such a delicate-looking female could bear children.
In the Beastman Continent, females and offspring were highly valued.
Thus, the beastmen felt a mix of envy, jealousy, and doubt toward Siliu's ability to bear children.
Meanwhile, Kalian and Adahua, standing at a distance, gritted their teeth in anger.
"Damn it, this foreign female actually stole my mate. I can't let this slide!" Kalian said with gritted teeth.
"Exactly. Just look at her smug expression. She's ugly as hell. Amu should have been yours, Kalian, but this shameless female took him away. I'll help you get revenge," Adahua said.
Actually, Adahua also liked Amu, but she knew he didn't have any interest in her. Still, she couldn't stand him not choosing Kalian, and now this foreign female had taken him. She felt extremely resentful.
On the Beastman Continent, the males were highly valued, especially the ones who could sire offspring.
"She'll pay for this!"
"When I kill this female, Amu will definitely come back to me. Then, I'll..." Kalian's eyes flashed with murderous intent.
Siliu also felt the intense glares from two individuals. Turning her head, she saw Kalian and Adahua standing across the river, giving them murderous looks. She wasn't afraid.
She'd prefer if they didn't provoke her, or she wouldn't let them off easily.
"Amu, were you childhood friends with Kalian? I can tell she likes you," Siliu asked.
"Childhood friends? No, we just grew up in the same tribe. I've never liked Kalian. I've never liked her since we were kids," Amu said without hesitation.
"Really?" Siliu asked.
"Of course. I swear to the Divine Beast, I've never liked Kalian. The only female I like is you, and I'll follow you and protect you for the rest of my life."
"I believe you!" Siliu said happily, reaching up to stroke his antlers.
How could she not trust him?
She was only asking casually, but she didn't expect him to be so serious, even swearing to the Divine Beast.
The Divine Beast was the deity worshiped by all beastmen.
"Don't touch," Amu's voice became a little hoarse, as if he were holding something back.
Siliu froze for a second, then immediately realized what was happening.
"Such a pervy deer!"
They quickly arrived back at their cave, where Amu began starting a fire to heat up a stone pot.
Siliu was craving fish soup, so she decided to make a pot of it.
The beastmen here used stone pots and bowls, and the pot Amu was using was one he had carved himself from a rock.
Actually, the beastmen's intelligence shouldn't be underestimated.
"Little deer, you sit there and rest. Let me handle this," Amu said, starting to heat water. Once it boiled, he added the prepared fish and some coarse salt.
Siliu sat by the fire, quietly watching Amu prepare the fish soup.
She had to admit, when he focused on something, he was really charming.
Soon, the delicious smell of fish soup filled the air.
Siliu swallowed, feeling hungry.
"Just wait a little longer; it'll be ready soon," Amu smiled helplessly at Siliu, who was like a hungry cat.
He kept stirring the soup while roasting some of the fish on sticks over the fire.
