Chapter 10: Chapter 10
After putting on her clothes, Sī Lù initially wanted to wash the clothes she had worn earlier, but before she could, À Mò took them from her to wash.
"I'll do the washing. You sit there and rest for a while. Once I'm done, we can go back," À Mò said with a smile.
Naturally, he wanted to handle this himself.
Besides, the skin of a little female is so delicate; he was afraid that washing clothes would cause her hands to get rough.
That would make his heart ache.
"Alright, I'll just watch you wash," Sī Lù said, not saying anything more. She sat down on a rock, propping her chin in one hand, watching À Mò wash. The sunlight bathed both of them, and it felt very comfortable.
À Mò occasionally turned his head and, meeting Sī Lù's gaze, couldn't help but smile.
Being watched by the little female as he did the laundry gave him an immense sense of satisfaction.
It felt as though the little female's eyes held only him.
"À Mò, look, there are fish over there!" Sī Lù suddenly exclaimed when she spotted fish in the river.
Wow, there are fish!
She hadn't noticed them during her bath earlier.
"Do you like eating fish?" À Mò asked, looking at Sī Lù.
If she liked eating fish, he could catch more for her.
"Yes, yes, I like it! Quickly catch them before they swim away!" Sī Lù exclaimed, standing up in excitement, her eyes sparkling as she stared at the fish in the river.
She looked so adorable.
"Wait here, I'll catch them for you," À Mò said with a smile.
He raised his hand and used a wind blade to slice through the water, creating a vortex like a tornado. The fish were instantly disoriented, floating to the surface, unable to move.
Sī Lù stared, mouth slightly open, astonished by the sight.
So impressive!
She hadn't expected that À Mò's wind ability could be used this way.
It made things so much easier.
In a moment, dozens of fish were disoriented.
She was about to go down to collect the fish when À Mò stopped her with a hand.
"Don't need to go down. Just watch," À Mò said, and with a wave of his hand, the wind swept the fish from the water to the shore.
Sī Lù was utterly amazed.
So simple!
This was truly magical!
"À Mò, you're amazing!" Sī Lù clapped her hands excitedly, standing on tiptoe to peck À Mò on the cheek.
"You like it? I'll catch more for you," À Mò said, his heart feeling a little giddy.
After all, this was the first time the little female had taken the initiative to kiss him.
He was overjoyed!
Seeing the little female so happy made him even more delighted.
"Alright," Sī Lù said, looking at him with a little fangirl gaze.
What should she do? He really dotes on her.
"Wait here," À Mò said, reaching up to gently ruffle Sī Lù's hair, then using his wind ability to bring up more fish.
When the fish regained their senses, they all began to flop about.
Sī Lù watched in awe.
This was so exciting!
It was the first time she had seen so many fish jumping at once.
"That's enough. Wait here while I clean the fish and string them up to take back," À Mò said, beginning to clean the fish by swiftly removing the scales and gutting them with his wind blades.
His speed was impressive, efficient, and seamless, showing he had done this before.
Sī Lù was mesmerized by his movements.
Less than an hour later, over a hundred fish were cleaned.
À Mò then found a sturdy vine nearby and threaded it through the fish's mouths and gills.
Soon, he had a long string of fish—over a hundred of them!
Sī Lù was stunned.
"How is it? Have you been waiting long? Are you hungry? Let's go back and roast the fish," À Mò said.
"You're so clever. This long string of fish looks so beautiful. Now that you mention it, I am getting a little hungry," Sī Lù laughed.
She was craving fish.
"Wait a moment; I'll change into my beast form. You can sit on my back, and we'll get back quicker this way," À Mò said before transforming into a tall, over two-meter-tall spotted deer. His large antlers were majestic and imposing.
It was the first time Sī Lù had seen À Mò's true form, and she was delighted. She had never been this close to such a magnificent spotted deer before.
She reached out to gently touch his large head and the imposing antlers, unable to hide her excitement.
"Come up," À Mò bent down, allowing Sī Lù to climb on his back more easily.
"Mm-hmm," Sī Lù, a little shy, climbed onto his back, her face glowing with excitement.
À Mò then hung the string of fish from his antlers, and the two of them set off, heading back in the direction they came.
Sī Lù sat sideways, mainly because her skirt was too short. If she sat normally, it would reveal too much.
She sat at an angle, holding onto the base of the antlers, her curious eyes scanning the surroundings.
The view from two meters high was different.
Of course, the air was incredibly fresh as well.
This was the first time she had ridden on the back of a deer, and her heart was racing with excitement.
Along the way, they encountered many other beastmen, who all looked at them, greeting them as they passed.
À Mò responded to each greeting.
Some of the female beastmen by the river watched with envy as they saw the two of them.
They knew À Mò was the youngest, most powerful male in their tribe. Many females had wanted to mate with him, but he never paid them any attention.
It was only now that they realized this was the female he had chosen.
She was so beautiful.
But there were whispers too.
Could this fragile-looking female even bear children?
On the Beastman Continent, females were highly valued, especially for their ability to bear offspring.
Thus, some of the onlookers were envious, jealous, and questioning the little female's ability to reproduce.
Meanwhile, standing not far away, Kǎ Liàn and Ā Dà Huā were seething with anger.
"Damn it! This outsider female stole my beastman. I won't let this go!" Kǎ Liàn said, her voice filled with rage.
"Exactly! Look at how smug she looks. She's so ugly. À Mò was supposed to be your beastman, Kǎ Liàn. How could this shameless female take him? I'll help you get back at her," Ā Dà Huā added.
In truth, she also liked À Mò.
But she knew À Mò didn't like her. Now, seeing him ignore Kǎ Liàn and be taken by this outsider female, she was feeling bitter.
Beastman Continent revered strong males, especially those who could protect females and their offspring.
"This won't be forgotten."
"I'll kill this female. I'm sure À Mò will come to his senses after that. Then…" Kǎ Liàn's eyes flashed with murderous intent.
Sī Lù noticed two unfriendly gazes. Turning her head, she saw Kǎ Liàn and Ā Dà Huā glaring at her from the opposite riverbank. She wasn't scared.
It would be best if they didn't provoke her. Otherwise, she wouldn't let them get away with it.
"À Mò, are you and Kǎ Liàn childhood sweethearts? I can tell she likes you," Sī Lù asked.
"Childhood sweethearts? No. We just grew up in the same tribe. I don't like Kǎ Liàn. I've never liked her," À Mò said without hesitation.
"Really?" Sī Lù asked.
"Of course. I swear to the divine beast, I've never liked Kǎ Liàn. The only female I like is you. I will only follow you and protect you in this life."
"I believe you!" Sī Lù said, happily stroking his antlers.
How could she not believe him?
She had only asked casually, but she didn't expect him to be so serious and even swear to the divine beast.
The divine beast was the faith of all beastmen on the continent, revered as a god.
"Stop touching me," À Mò's voice became hoarse, as if he were holding back something.
Sī Lù blinked and immediately understood.
"Such a perverted deer!"
Soon, they arrived at their cave, and À Mò started a fire to heat up a stone pot.
Sī Lù was craving fish soup, so she decided to make a pot.
The beastmen used stone pots and bowls. À Mò had even found a stone and carved out a hollow to make one.
In fact, the beastmen's wisdom was not to be underestimated.
"Little deer, sit over there and rest. Let me handle this," À Mò said, starting to boil water. Once it was boiling, he added the prepared fish and some coarse salt.
Sī Lù sat by the fire, quietly watching him prepare the fish soup.
When À Mò worked seriously, he was quite charming.
Before long, the smell of the fish soup wafted through the air.
Sī Lù couldn't help but swallow.
"Wait a little longer; it'll be ready soon," À Mò said, smiling helplessly at the greedy Sī Lù.
He was boiling the fish soup and also skewering the other fish to roast over the fire.
"Be careful, it's hot," À Mò warned.
The little female's skin was so delicate, more so than even the young cubs.
He didn't want her to burn herself.
"I know, I know," Sī Lù said, smiling sweetly.
Her smile made À Mò feel even more happy.
How was she so cute?
After a while, the fish soup was ready.
À Mò filled the stone bowl with soup and handed it to Sī Lù.
"Drink it while it's hot."
The smell was so appetizing, and Sī Lù felt a deep sense of happiness.
"Thank you, À Mò."
À Mò watched her drink the soup and smiled.
As long as she was happy, that was enough for him.
The two of them continued to enjoy their meal.
