Chapter 13: Touch Me
As I slowly opened my eyes and blinked away the sleep, I noticed that my vision was slightly blurry. However, amidst the haze, I was able to make out the sight of a chandelier hanging gracefully from the ceiling.
Confusion washed over me as I questioned when Ava had installed such an elegant fixture in my room. A fleeting thought crossed my mind - could this be a figment of my imagination?
I slowly rubbed my eyes as I felt the weight of my throbbing head. My eyes feverishly darted around the unfamiliar room, scanning it's every corner, only to be met with an overwhelming sense of panicking.
This isn't my room. My heart rate skyrocketed as the realization hit me like a ton of bricks – my boss has kidnapped me. The memory flashed back vividly, the sharp smell of a cloth being pressed against my face, forcefully cutting off my supply of fresh air.
Suddenly, driven by a sudden surge of urgency, I abruptly jumped out of the bed without giving it a second thought. However, within seconds, I found myself wincing in regret as my buttocks mercilessly met the unyielding surface of the marbled floor. Startled by the unexpected noise, I instinctively lifted my head to discover the door flinging open, sending chills down my spine with the fear of an intruder's presence. A man clad in a pristine white lab coat stepped into the room, and trailing closely behind him was none other than Mr. Marco.
"Oh, she's awake," the man wearing the lab coat said as he bent down to my level. "Hello, little miss. I'm Dr. Charles and you're?"
I looked at the man eerily before casting my gaze on Mr Marco who in turn flashed me a sinister smile.
"What is going on here? Why did you kidnap me and bring me here?" I said with my breath coming out shallow. The doctor who was still squatting in front of me smiled and grabbed me to help me sit on the bed despite my struggles.
"Don't you ever touch me again without my consent," I screamed at him and he raised his hand up in surrender.
"I actually meant no harm little miss," he looked at Mr Marco and shook his head a little and Mr Marco gave him a nod in reply.
The door immediately swung open and two young men came inside but my breathe hitched as I caught the familiar sight of those grey orbs. Those eyes...my eyes raked him over, he was on black from head to toe. He indeed is a handsome man but I'm still not going to marry him. Never.
He walked towards his father and stood beside him, his eyes had never for once left mine which makes me uncomfortable.
"Boom!!" I immediately flinched back at the young man who came in with Mr Marco's son as he clicked his fingers in front of me.
"She truly is an angel because this beauty right here is without a doubt inhumane" he said while trying to touch my hair and I flinched back again.
Oh God, what have I gotten myself into? If only I hadn't stupidly agreed to that ominous private meeting, I wouldn't be surrounded by this weird people. I looked at the young man again, he was good looking but not as good looking as Mr Marco's son. With his jet-black hair, a sharply defined nose, and eyes that mirrored my own eye color.
Although I couldn't pinpoint the exact reason, there was an undeniable sense of familiarity when I saw him. It felt as if I had crossed paths with him before or perhaps it was someone who bore a striking resemblance to him.
"Stop it Clark, you're scaring her", my head immediately turned to the direction of the familiar voice.
Mr Sebastian? How? Is he part of all this too?
"I'm not scaring her father. I'm being nice to her."
Father? He's Mr Sebastian's son? And then it clicked, the familiar features...and I was wondering where I'd met him. He looks so much like Mr Sebastian, more like a younger version of him.
"Alright, enough of your antics Clark." Mr Marco's voice sounded interrupting my thoughts. My gaze unintentionally landed on his son, he had an annoyed look on his face and his gaze immediately darkened when they met mine. I quickly looked away as my face flushed crimson red.
I need to get out of here. The room is already sophisticated as it can be, with all this people here, their presence are really suffocating me.
With cautious movements, I gradually rose from the bed as Mr. Marco's son advanced towards me, his steps exuding a predatory aura. He finally halted right in front of me, causing my eyes to dart around avoiding any direct contact with his intense gaze, which continued to be adorned by a deep frown.
"Touch me." I was suddenly forced to look at him. Has he gone nuts?
"W...What?" I asked him.
"Are you deaf or something? I said touch me," he now had an annoyed look on his face while his eyes were still scrutinizing me.
I quickly took some steps back away from him but he swiftly grabbed my hands and placed it on his bare chest and kept it there for some seconds before releasing it.
"Are you crazy or something? First, your father kidnapped me and then you made me touch you against my will?" I screamed at him as tears flooded my eyes. I turned to face Mr Marco. "Is this how far you'll go to get your son married? Am I some sort of experiment or what?" I screamed as the tears began cascading down my cheeks.
"You have to calm down Ivory." I immediately turned to Mr Sebastian.
"Calm down? I was kidnapped and thank you for aiding that. You're so selfish, I thought you were a good man but it turned that you were a leach too."
"Enough!!" My gaze landed on those grey orbs again. "Any more word from you, trust me, you'd regret it."
"Are you...." I wanted to retort but my mouth was immediately covered by Mr Sebastian's son.
"You don't want to get on our bad side, do you?" He asked me with a small smile on his face.
Who exactly are these people?
"Her blood is normal and everything is totally okay, I'm simply confused. He should be getting a reaction but he is not." The doctor said with a confused expression on his face.
What is he talking about?
"That is why I said she's an angel in a human form", Mr Sebastian's son said as he freed my mouth and stepped away from me.
"This is truly a miracle, I've never seen or heard of it before". The echoing voice of the doctor reached my ears once more, but it seemed to resonate from a faraway place, barely audible and hazy. As his words reached me, my sight instantaneously became fuzzy, blurring my surroundings, and my knees gave way under the weight of weakness. The darkness started creeping in rapidly, engulfing the remaining traces of light, and all I could fixate on were his piercing grey eyes before everything descended into pitch-black oblivion.
