Chapter 11: Decapitation (3)
"There's an ambush!" Stick shouted first.
Archil Norman's eyes widened, he didn't even have time to react.
Gray and Richie had already ridden their horses and retreated rapidly.
In the snowstorm, the Silver Moon Knights quickly surrounded Gray, while the dwarfs swiftly formed their battle formation.
Black dragons flapped their wings and took to the sky, opening their huge mouths. Massive fireballs rapidly formed and were hurled toward Gray.
With a thunderous roar, a violent explosion occurred, a large number of fireballs collided, creating a whirlwind of flames that swept through everything. The intense heat caused the surrounding ice and snow to vaporize instantly without even melting. The scorching air spread rapidly, seemingly choking off the snowstorm itself. Even the Golden Dragon Clan members flying in the sky were affected.
The Golden Dragon Clan members in the sky were stunned.
However, it was only for a moment. The next instant, the snowstorm reappeared, dispersing the rampant flames.
What appeared before everyone's eyes was a scorched black ground. Yes, with just one strike, the knee-deep snow had completely disappeared. All that remained were blackened and smoking rocks.
Gray sat on his horse, standing quietly. The Silver Moon Knights had already formed a circle around him, and the dwarfs had raised their heavy shields. Aikleion and Lucy had even raised their hands, chanting spells—at the critical moment, it was their protective shield spell that had forcibly withstood the attack.
Gray slowly drew the longsword from his waist and raised it high, "Silver Moon Knight Order, form the ranks! Prepare to charge!"
"Hehehe, it seems, it's still not close enough," the leading black dragon sighed softly.
Simultaneously, dozens of black dragon attackers, still in human form, had already reached the delegation.
In the snowstorm, the real battle began.
The figures of the delegation members mixed with those of the attackers, and fireballs exploded one after another.
Archil Norman quickly transformed into his golden dragon form and charged toward the leading black dragon.
"Protect the Lich King!" The Golden Dragon Clan members, who had regained their composure, quickly descended from the sky. The golden and black dragons were entangled in combat.
Of course, there were exceptions. For example, Abraham, who flapped his wings and retreated little by little toward Dragon Valley.
"Where are you going?" One of the golden dragons, who hadn't joined the battle yet, asked him.
"I'm going to notify the chief elder, you hold on," Abraham responded hurriedly.
"Alright! Hurry up!"
Excluding the traitor, the last golden dragon joined the battle.
Accompanied by two other golden dragons, Abraham turned in the direction of Dragon Valley and flew away.
At this moment, the battle had quickly intensified, although it came as a sudden surprise, everyone, including the Golden Dragon Clan members sent to protect Gray, were already fighting with all their might.
In the sky, golden and black dragons were entangled, biting and scratching each other, their scorching dragon breath spilling out freely, any drop that fell to the ground could burn a large hole in the snow. Some even tumbled to the ground, dragging down rocks. The scene resembled the end of the world.
Carl led the Silver Moon Knights back and forth in the charge. The dwarfs brandished their giant axes and heavy shields, clashing with the attackers who hadn't transformed into dragon form. For magic, they had some ability to counter, but against the black dragons that had transformed, they stood no chance. Any dragon could swipe them dozens of meters away with just a flick of its tail.
Gray and Richie, under the protection of Vivian, Catherine, Sarina, and Delia, moved and dodged throughout the battlefield, seeking opportunities.
"Can you contact the golden dragons with the secret key?" Vivian asked Gray.
"No, it's too far," Gray replied.
*In all this, the ones in the worst situation were probably Aikleion and Lucy. The attackers seemed to treat them as primary targets. Numerous dragons surrounded them, chasing and continuously attacking. As a result, they could only use simple spells to dodge back and forth, with no chance to chant any complex incantations, let alone use space magic to help Gray escape.*
...
*In the abyss, demons were watching the spectacle with grins.*
...
*In the other dimension, the events unfolding in the northern continent were also quietly being displayed.*
...
In the distance, Andrejewitsch, standing at the entrance to Dragon Valley, saw Abraham and his group flying back, along with the flickering red lights in the snowstorm behind them.
"Did something happen?" he hurriedly went to meet them.
Abraham and the other two golden dragons slowly landed in front of Andrejewitsch and transformed back into human form.
"It's nothing, just a small mishap."
*"A small mishap?"* Andrejewitsch looked into the distance, a stunned expression on his face, "But it seemed like a battle to me."
"Yes, a small-scale battle." Before Andrejewitsch could react, Abraham's right hand had already reached for his abdomen.
With a muffled sound of "poof," Abraham's hand instantly transformed into a giant dragon claw, piercing through Andrejewitsch's abdomen.
Blood splattered on the snow, resembling blooming plum blossoms.
Beads of sweat slowly dripped from his forehead, Andrejewitsch looked at Abraham in terror, who was just inches away from him.
