Chapter 12: THE WARRIOR'S PATH
Akin sits cross-legged on the mountain ridge, watching the sunrise.
His body is sore.
His wounds sting.
But his mind… is clearer than ever before.
For the first time, he understands—he is not ordinary.
The Seer watches from a distance, his silver eyes unreadable.
SEER
"What do you feel?"
Akin flexes his fingers.
His skin still tingles from the energy he unleashed last night.
AKIN
"Different."
SEER
"Good. That means you are finally listening."
The Seer steps forward, his robes flowing like mist.
SEER
"Tell me… when you fought the beast, what was your greatest enemy?"
Akin thinks.
The creature had been fast. Powerful. Deadly.
But…
AKIN
"Fear."
The Seer nods approvingly.
SEER
"Exactly. Fear clouds the mind. Weakens the body. It makes a man hesitate… and hesitation in battle is death."
Akin remembers the moment he let go.
The moment he trusted himself.
SEER
"You must learn to command your power, Akin. Otherwise, it will command you."
Akin tightens his fists.
He wants to learn.
He must.
EXT. OKE AIYE – TRAINING GROUNDS – LATER
The Seer leads Akin to an open field atop the mountain.
Tall trees sway in the wind.
Mist curls around the rocks.
In the center of the field…
A circle of ancient stones, each carved with mystical symbols.
SEER
"Step inside."
Akin hesitates—then steps into the circle.
The air shifts.
The ground hums.
Akin's heartbeat quickens.
Something ancient awakens in the stones.
SEER
"This is the Path of the Warrior. Only those with true strength can endure it."
The Seer raises his staff.
BOOM!
A force slams into Akin's chest, throwing him back.
AKIN
"What—?"
The wind howls.
The sky darkens.
A shadowy figure appears in the mist.
A warrior.
Tall. Powerful. His armor glows with ancient energy.
His face… is Akin's own.
AKIN
(whispering)
"Me…?"
SEER
"Your greatest battle will always be against yourself."
Akin's shadow attacks.
FAST.
Akin barely blocks the first strike—
CLANG!
Sparks fly.
The impact stings his arms.
Akin stumbles back.
His shadow self moves with unnatural speed.
Stronger. Sharper.
Akin tries to counter—
But his shadow dodges effortlessly.
And strikes back.
THWACK!
Akin crashes to the ground.
Pain shoots through his ribs.
He gasps.
His shadow looms over him, blade raised.
SEER
"If you cannot defeat yourself… you will never defeat your true enemies."
Akin grits his teeth.
He rolls aside—just as the blade slashes down.
WHOOSH!
Akin rises, breath heavy.
His hands burn with power.
His shadow smirks.
Then—
IT CHARGES AGAIN.
EXT. OKE AIYE – TRAINING GROUNDS – LATER
The battle rages.
Sweat drips down Akin's face.
His shadow is unrelenting.
Every move Akin makes—
His shadow matches it.
Faster. Sharper.
He cannot win.
SEER
"You are fighting like a man. But you are more than that."
Akin's chest heaves.
He remembers the whispers.
The moment he let go against the beast.
Maybe…
He is thinking too much.
Akin closes his eyes.
Breathes.
The whispers return.
???
"Trust yourself."
Akin lets go.
His shadow attacks—
But this time, Akin does not hesitate.
His body moves instinctively.
Faster.
Smoother.
His shadow strikes—
Akin dodges.
His shadow counters—
Akin blocks.
For the first time—
Akin is in control.
SEER
"Yes. Now, end it."
Akin lunges forward.
His fist slams into his shadow's chest.
BOOM!
The shadow shatters into mist.
Silence.
Akin stands in the circle, breathless.
He has won.
The Seer nods.
SEER
"Now, you are ready."
EXT. OKE AIYE – NIGHT
Akin sits by the fire, staring at his hands.
He is changing.
Becoming something greater.
But his journey is far from over.
The Seer watches him.
SEER
"Tomorrow, you begin the true test."
Akin looks up.
AKIN
"What is it?"
The Seer's silver eyes glimmer.
SEER
"You will leave Oke Aiye."
Akin's stomach tightens.
Leave?
SEER
"Your path does not end here. There are forces moving in the world—forces that will seek to destroy you before you even understand who you are."
Akin swallows hard.
SEER
"If you are to survive… you must learn more than power."
Akin nods.
He is ready.
Or so he thinks.
Because beyond these mountains… something dark is waiting.
And soon—
Akin will come face to face with it.
EXT. OKE AIYE – DAWN
The sun rises over Oke Aiye, bathing the mountain in golden light.
Akin stands at the edge of the ridge, staring down at the vast world beyond.
The forests stretch endlessly.
Distant rivers glitter like silver veins.
Villages dot the landscape, small and scattered.
But beyond them—dark clouds gather.
A storm is coming.
Behind him, the Seer approaches.
SEER
"It is time."
Akin clenches his fists.
He spent weeks training.
Learning discipline. Learning control.
Now—
He must leave the mountain.
AKIN
"Where do I go?"
SEER
"The answer lies within you. But if you seek true purpose… seek the Oracle of Esinmirin."
Akin frowns.
AKIN
"The Oracle?"
SEER
"She sees beyond time. She knows the path that lies ahead. But be warned—she does not grant answers freely."
Akin nods.
No journey worth taking is ever easy.
SEER
"Take this."
The Seer hands him a small wooden pendant.
Carved into it—a symbol Akin does not recognize.
SEER
"This will protect you from the eyes of those who seek to stop you."
Akin examines the pendant.
He does not fully understand its purpose—
But he does not question the Seer's wisdom.
AKIN
"Thank you."
The Seer watches him for a long moment.
Then—
SEER
"Go, warrior. Find your path."
Akin turns.
And descends the mountain.
His journey has begun.
EXT. THE FOREST OF OMINIRA – DAY
Akin moves swiftly through the dense forest.
Birds sing above.
Leaves crunch beneath his feet.
The air is thick with the scent of wet earth.
But something feels… wrong.
The forest is too quiet.
No rustling. No distant animal cries.
Akin slows his steps.
His fingers brush the pendant around his neck.
Then—
A twig SNAPS.
Akin spins around.
Nothing.
Silence.
Then—
A WHISPER.
A low, inhuman sound.
Akin's heartbeat quickens.
He knows he is not alone.
Then—
A shadow moves.
Fast.
Too fast.
Akin barely has time to react before—
WHOOSH!
Something lunges at him.
Akin dives aside just as claws slash through the air.
THUD!
He rolls, springing to his feet.
Standing before him—
A twisted creature, its body hunched and covered in blackened fur.
Its eyes glow red, its mouth lined with razor-sharp teeth.
AKIN
(whispering)
"What… are you?"
The creature hisses.
It lunges.
Akin barely dodges.
He counters—his fist slamming into its ribs.
CRACK!
The creature staggers back, snarling.
But it does not flee.
It circles him, watching.
Testing.
Then—it speaks.
CREATURE
(hoarse, raspy)
"You… smell of power."
Akin tenses.
The creature's lips curl into a twisted grin.
CREATURE
"He will want to know."
Akin's blood runs cold.
AKIN
"Who?"
The creature's grin widens.
Then—
IT ATTACKS AGAIN.
EXT. FOREST OF OMINIRA – BATTLE
Akin blocks.
Strikes.
Dodges.
His movements are faster than before.
He is stronger.
More controlled.
But the creature is relentless.
It moves like a shadow, twisting and striking from impossible angles.
Akin's muscles burn.
His breath is ragged.
But he cannot afford to slow down.
Not now.
Not when something… is watching.
Then—
The creature lunges for his throat.
Akin catches it mid-air.
CRACK!
With one powerful twist, he SNAPS its neck.
The creature goes limp.
Akin breathes hard, dropping the body.
Silence.
Then—
A whisper.
Not from the creature.
From the trees.
Akin looks up—
And sees glowing eyes watching him from the darkness.
More of them.
Dozens.
Akin clenches his fists.
AKIN
(softly)
"This is far from over."
And then—
The hunt begins.
EXT. FOREST OF OMINIRA – NIGHT
Darkness swallows the land.
The trees stand tall and silent, their twisted branches reaching like claws toward the sky.
Akin stands in the center of the clearing.
Surrounded.
Dozens of red eyes glimmer in the shadows.
Low growls echo through the night.
The creatures—the Hunters of the Night—watch him.
Waiting.
Testing.
Akin tightens his fists.
His pulse pounds.
Sweat drips down his back.
But his stance remains firm.
AKIN
(whispering)
"If you want me…"
He shifts into a warrior's stance.
AKIN
"Come and get me."
Silence.
Then—
THE HUNTERS ATTACK.
EXT. FOREST OF OMINIRA – BATTLE
The first Hunter lunges.
Akin sidesteps just as claws swipe past his face.
He counters—his fist CRACKING into the creature's ribs.
The Hunter yelps, tumbling to the ground.
But two more take its place.
Akin dodges left—then right.
He rolls under a sweeping claw—
Then LEAPS, twisting mid-air—
BAM!
His heel connects with a Hunter's skull.
CRACK!
The creature collapses.
But there are too many.
One rakes its claws across Akin's side.
SHRRIP!
A thin line of blood appears.
Akin grits his teeth.
Pain surges through him—
But he does not fall.
Instead—
Something awakens.
A fire. A force. A power deep within.
Akin grabs the nearest Hunter—
Lifts it effortlessly.
And—
SLAMS IT INTO THE EARTH.
The ground shakes.
The other Hunters hesitate.
Akin breathes hard.
And smirks.
AKIN
"What's wrong? Not so brave anymore?"
The Hunters snarl.
But something changes.
They no longer seem eager to fight.
Instead—they retreat.
Slipping into the shadows.
Vanishing.
Akin exhales, his muscles burning.
The battle is over.
But the danger is not.
These creatures were not ordinary.
And worse—they were sent by someone.
But who?
EXT. FOREST PATH – LATER
Akin moves carefully through the dense trees.
His wound stings, but he presses on.
Ahead—
A small river glows under the moonlight.
Akin kneels, cupping water in his hands.
He washes his wound, the cool water soothing his skin.
Then—
A voice.
Soft. Whispering.
???
"He is close now."
Akin freezes.
The voice is not human.
It comes from… nowhere.
Yet it surrounds him.
Slowly, Akin stands.
AKIN
"Who's there?"
Silence.
Then—
A gust of wind blows through the trees.
And suddenly—
A figure appears.
EXT. RIVERSIDE – NIGHT
The figure steps into the moonlight.
A woman.
Tall. Elegant.
Dressed in flowing white robes.
Her eyes glow like silver flames.
Her presence feels… ancient. Powerful.
Akin clenches his fists.
AKIN
"Who are you?"
The woman tilts her head.
???
"You seek the Oracle of Esinmirin, do you not?"
Akin's breath catches.
How does she know?
AKIN
"Yes. I do."
The woman smiles.
???
"Then follow me."
Akin hesitates.
But something pulls him forward.
A force beyond his understanding.
And so—he follows.
EXT. TEMPLE OF ESINMIRIN – NIGHT
The woman leads him through the dark woods.
Finally—
They reach an ancient temple.
Carved from black stone.
Etched with mystical symbols.
Akin steps inside.
The air is thick with the scent of burning incense.
Torches flicker along the walls.
And at the center of the temple—
A throne.
Upon it—
An old woman.
Wrapped in dark robes.
Her eyes are milky white.
She sees without sight.
The Oracle of Esinmirin.
She smiles.
ORACLE
"I have been expecting you."
Akin swallows hard.
His journey has led him here.
But the truth he seeks…
May change everything.
