The Journey of Akasha

Chapter 63: Old Man?

When Akasha and the rest of the group landed on the ground all they could see was dried blood that mixed with the already battlefield like landscape. Looking around there were tons of groups spread out recuperating. Surprisingly there were no corpses that could be seen.

As they made their way towards the temple nobody even looked their way.

"These people must've had it rough." Jovian muttered as he saw the condition of some those who were recuperating.

"Yea, looks like we truly missed out." Akasha said

Up ahead in front of the gate of the temple. There were three groups of people that were also recuperating. There were a group of Humans, Dragons, and Phoenixes.

"Humans, Dragons, and what's that other race?" Lyria asked as she and the others were observing the groups.

"Eh? I can't tell either." Raven said

"They seem to be, human? But they also have pointy ears, but not quite like elves." Elara added

Hearing this Akasha decided to appraise the woman who sat in front of the others.

[Yonna Blaze]

Age - 23 Years Old

Race - Fire Phoenix

Rank - Late Ultimate Core

Law(s) - Law of Life Reversal

------

"A Phoenix, huh?" Akasha said as he saw the information in front of him.

"Phoenix? They actually have Phoenixes here?!" Jovian asked. He was oddly excited hearing about the Phoenix.

"I've never heard of a Phoenix before." Elara said what Lyria and Raven both were thinking.

"Hmm? Well, they are a race just a Noble as the Dragons. I don't know much about them, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." Akasha said as they finally made it around the other groups.

When they appeared the three leaders of each group opened their eyes to see who was approaching.

"Hmm?" Orin raised any eyebrow when he saw the weird group.

"Humans, Dragon, Vampire, and an Elf?" Yonna questioned

Crystalyn didn't say anything she just watched the group closely.

Especially Elara.

Seeing the looks from the three Akasha smiled and spoke.

"Nice to meet you. I heard something about an Old Man, where can I find him?" He asked without even introducing himself or even asking about who they were.

"Eh?" Yonna looked at Akasha weirdly.

When Orin heard what Akasha said he simply ignored him and went back to recuperating. Crystalyn though kept silent while observing.

"Haha, looks like they don't care for you." Jovian said as it was quite rare to see Akasha being completely ignored.

"Tsk." Akasha scoffed before looking at Yonna Blaze who was still watching.

"Excuse me Miss. Can you tell me anything about the Old Man?" He asked her

"Umm. I don't know much he only told us to wait for a month, and he'll come back out." She replied simply. She could tell that she had a higher rank than them, so she didn't feel too worried.

And plus, they had already secured their spot.

Hearing Yonna, Akasha wanted to facepalm.

"More waiting? Fuck that!" He said before taking a minute to look around again. He then looked back at Yonna and spoke

"Each of you came here with a specific item in mind, right? Tell me which inheritance you came for and I will not interfere with your plans. Think of it as compensation for helping me out."

*Silence*

Yonna looked at Akasha and his group without speaking.

'Is he okay? Where is his confidence coming from? His group should be the weakest out of us three already here.' She thought silently before saying

"The Sword of War. The other two inheritances wouldn't benefit me any."

When she said this Orin's eyes flashed open.

This was the exact inheritance he wanted, and hearing Yonna wanted it too, was something he couldn't allow to happen. His hand reached towards his sword, but before he could grip onto the handle. Akasha voice sounded.

"Good!" He then looked to Lyria and said with a smile.

"I have a gift for you~ There's something here called the 'Elves Ode to Life'. Apparently, it's an inheritance I will gift it to you after we meet that Old Man."

"O-Ode to Life?!" Lyria exclaimed.

"Oh? You're familiar with this inheritance?" He asked

"Something like that.... it's more of a myth of our Elven race." She said slowly regaining her composure.

Hearing this Akasha nodded and then approached the gate.

"So, are you just going to knock or something?" Jovian asked

"I guess? Why not be polite." Akasha said while shrugging.

When he said this the rest of the group wanted to face palm.

Akasha ignored the looks he was getting. He raised his hand and knocked on the massive gate. Although it seemed like simple knocks... they sounded like small explosions going off.

BOOOOM

BOOOOM

BOOOOM

"OLD MAN COME OUT! I NEED ONE OF THOSE INHERITANCES YOU'RE HOARDING!!!!" Akasha yelled and his voice echoed throughout the entire battlefield. It was so loud that it even caused some of them to pause their recuperation.

"Shit dude! I could have done that!" Jovian exclaimed at Akasha. Even though the girls didn't say anything they all were glaring at Akasha. He could've at least warned them, right?

Seeing their looks he felt a bit bad, so he apologized to the girls while completely ignoring Jovian.

"My apologies, I should've told you three beforehand." As he said this, he patted each of their heads. This instantly caused the women to feel better.

Lyria on the other hand? She was caught completely off guard by the pat. Her face immediately turned beet red. Seeing her like this Akasha laughed while shaking his head.

*creak*

Interrupting their little moment was the sound of a loud creak. Surprisingly the gate to the temple once again opened. Out of it came the same Old Man as before. He had a beard that reached the ground and in his hand was a walking stick.

Seeing the Old Man, Akasha, he immediately appraised him.

[Terran Myst]

Age - 2 Epochs

Race - Primordial Human

----------

'Interesting' Akasha thought he was about to speak out, but the old man spoke first.

"The same rule applies. There can only be three people who can enter the temple. There are still 3 weeks left until the inheritances are ready. Until then you can figure out who gets what by yourselves." The old man said before he turned around to leave.

But before he could Akasha spoke

"Wait."

"Why the hell do we have to keep waiting? Everything always revolves around time. Why can't we get the damn items now?" Akasha spoke his mind straightforwardly. He didn't give a damn that this man was millions of years old.

He was tired of waiting!

Hearing this the Old Man turned around and gave Akasha a deep look. Looking at the young man who seemed to be no more than 22 years old he shook his head. He spoke nonchalantly towards Akasha.

"You know arrogance is the doom of many geniuses.... To actually be a genius you must first survive until you can reach your true potential. But since you're impatient I won't stop you.

I give you ten minutes. Find out which one of those three will give up their spot and then you can enter, but you must deal with consequences yourself."

When Akasha's group heard this, they became a bit tense. The old man words were just to cryptic. Raven spoke out because she like the others were worried about Akasha.

"Akasha maybe we should just wait. We can eliminate one of those three then just cultivate the rest of the few weeks."

Elara nodded her head hearing Raven.

"Haha, it'll be fine Raven." Akasha said while giving her a head pat. He then turned his head towards the old man and said with a grin.

"Ten minutes? That's too much time old man."

After he said this he disappeared.

"This guys is nuts." Jovian said seeing Akasha disappear.

Right after he said that a loud clang was heard.

*CLANG*
