Chapter 27: Coming Back
On the other side of phone Bai Shuang heard everything and with each word, her heart broke more and more , at the end of call her phone fell down.
"Niece, niece , are you okay" from the other side a panicked voice was heard, but she remained there frozen, tears flowing down from her eyes.
Bai Shuang's hands trembled, her aunt's words echoing in her mind like the final toll of a funeral bell. Ye Feng is gone. Dead. Just like that.
Her breath hitched, her chest tightened as if an invisible hand had clenched around her heart. The walls of her room blurred, and a sharp ringing filled her ears, drowning out whatever else her aunt was saying on the other end of the line. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the floor, the cold wood pressing against her knees.
"No… No, this can't be," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her body convulsed with a sob, and before she knew it, hot tears were spilling down her face, soaking the collar of her shirt.
Ye Feng. The boy she loved, the boy who never looked at her the same way. The boy she had watched from afar, hoping against hope that one day he would notice how much she cared. The boy she saw every day at school, her first love gone.
She pressed her fingers against her temples, trying to force her mind to grasp the reality of it.
A sob tore from her throat, raw and filled with unbearable agony. She curled into herself, rocking back and forth, as if trying to contain the overwhelming grief that threatened to shatter her completely.
Bai Shuang clamped a hand over her mouth, muffling another sob. Her mind swirled with memories, the handsome boy, who saved her cousin, who faced Su Meng bravely, who was always cold and distant for others and now, all of it was gone, snuffed out like a candle against the wind.
She wanted to scream, to demand an explanation from the heavens, to wake up from this cruel nightmare. But reality had settled in like an unmovable weight on her chest.
The next few days passed in a haze of grief. She barely ate, barely slept. Her grandfather sat beside her each night, gently urging her to eat, telling her stories from his youth in hopes of distracting her. But nothing worked. The only thing that filled her mind was Ye Feng—his smile, his voice, his indifference to the love she had buried deep in her heart.
A week passed. Then two. Her aunt came to visit, bringing warm soup and comforting words. "Shuang'er, I know it hurts. But you have to move forward. Ye Feng wouldn't want you to suffer like this."
Move forward? How could she? She felt hollow, as if a part of her had been ripped away. She walked through the days like a ghost, her body present but her soul lost in grief. Her Cheerful personality was gone she would just stand at same daydreaming , she also stopped going school.
month crept by. Her grandfather took her hand one evening, his eyes filled with quiet pain. "Shuang'er, I lost your grandmother years ago. The pain never leaves, but we learn to carry it. Don't let it bury you."
Her lips quivered. "But I loved him, Grandpa. And he never knew. He never cared."
Her grandfather sighed, brushing her hair back. "Then love him by living. Honor his memory by moving forward, by smiling again."
Tears welled in her eyes, "I know grandpa, but i can't forget him but i will try" , she said while hugging his grandpa who patted her back , looking at the sky.
He never knew that his precious granddaughter fell so deeply in love with someone and now his death has such a huge impact on her, if he knew earlier about him he would have caged him in a room for her , so that she can look at him, talk to him whenever she wanted.
But now it was impossible , he sighed once again.
After completing the examination of 10th grade Bai Shuang told her grandfather that she do not want to remain in Qingshan City anymore , it remind him of Ye Feng everyday and would make her sad. It was ok for her but she knew that if her grandfather see her sad , he would also be sad , so she finally took a decision to move away.
She Went to Sanghai for further education.
Just like that 2 and half years passed.
Present day,
A handsome boy in black pants and white shirt entered Qingshan city.
After two and a half years, Ye Feng had transformed into a force to be reckoned with—a predator , a shadow lurking at the edge of destiny. Now 5 feet 9 inches tall his once-lean muscles had hardened into a weaponized physique, every fiber of his body honed for speed, strength, and precision. His black hair, slightly longer than before, framed his face in sharp, untamed strands, a silent testament to the chaos he embraced.
His obsidian eyes, once youthful and bright, now burned with an abyssal intensity—cold, calculating, and merciless. They no longer simply observed; they pierced, dissecting everything in their gaze, stripping the world of its illusions. His fair skin, untouched by weakness, carried an eerie smoothness, like polished steel before the kill.
Every movement he made was deliberate, efficient, and deadly a man who did not hesitate, a conqueror whose presence alone sent chills through those who dared stand before him. He was no longer just a boy; he was , a blade drawn, a will unbreakable. Ye Feng was not here to compete—he was here to dominate.
With light footsteps he came near road stopped a cab and told him the place where he wanted to go. He observed outside and all the things were almost same , with few more tall buildings and more cars on the roads.
He arrived at his house but did not opened the door he climbed up and went inside through window.
