The Hero of Hypnosis

Chapter 182: Hello there

Money is the most important thing in life. If it wasn't, then people would steal, create businesses, show off extravagant things, or throw it in the face of a peasant to get them out of their face. Money rules the world, not strength.

This is why high-tier nobles have the most decorative homes ever seen, sometimes even more than royalty.

The moment Kai, Emerald, and Nadya walked into the Cheston household, money was all they could see. Not gold coins, of course. It would be insane if they saw gold coins littered around the place as if they were on vacation from purchasing things.

No, they saw a house full of super expensive items.

The entrance mat they stepped on was woven with the finest cotton and silk, with real gold melted around the edges. On the walls were expensive paintings, each of them made with expensive paint and was one of a kind.

Below the paintings were small stands that held vases with intricate designs and patterns on them. And the floor they walked on was made with the best kind of wood to go around, polished and crafted by a master.

Walking further into the home nearly made Kai go blind with all of the money sparkling in his eyes. The couches, chandeliers, tables, lamps, house design, and many more things in the house screamed 'I have money' in Kai's ears.

Kai, of course, didn't blame people for showing off their money; he actually encouraged it. But this was the first time he had ever seen pure gold staring in his face. The house and everything in it were a walking fortune.

"God damn!" He shouted. Simply thinking about how much everything in the house costs nearly made his head explode. Kai also had a shit ton of money, but he had never seen so much money in the form of purchases besides his houses.

Even the furniture and other items he bought for them were just really good, not the best on the market. And his mansions were available for everyone who had money to purchase, not an estate that nobles have.

Nadya, unlike Kai, was not impressed. She knew the Chestons liked to flaunt their power and wealth, but it angered her to think about her own family's wealth being used for shit like this.

"My family had a lot of money," Nadya said and an angry tone. "And I'm positive that they used it on shit like this!"

"It's okay." Kai rubbed her back, comforting her. "You'll get justice, and revenge."

"I want to wrap my hands around their necks and choke the life out of them!"

A smirk appeared on Kai's face. While he didn't care to see the nice, sweet Nadya angry, he was happy that her niceness didn't apply here.

"And that, my love, you will be able to do. Now, let's go ransack...I mean, let's go find the Patriarch!"

"Hey! Who are you?!" A butler came by with a few maids, running away from the commotion.

"Hello, we're the new hires. But we were lost and couldn't find where the head maid was. Can you help us?" Kai asked, putting on an act.

"Huh? I haven't gotten any word about some new hires. And if you are here to work, why aren't you in uniform?" The butler looked at them with suspicion.

"We didn't get any. We were told that you, or the headmaid, would provide them." Emerald answered

"T-Then why are you carrying weapons?"

The three of them looked at their hands and saw that they were indeed carrying weapons.

"Shit! Nadya, this is your fault!" Kai complained.

"My fault? You're the idiot who didn't realize he was holding a fucking sword in his hand while putting on an act."

"D-Did you just curse?!" Kai was shocked

"Yeah, it comes out sometimes." She rolled her eyes.

"That was so hot! Anyway, it's unfortunate that you five ran into us. And now that you've seen who we really are, we can't leave you alive."

"W-Wait! Sir! Please-" The butler fell to the floor alongside the other maids.

"Ha, I'm not gonna kill you, man," Kai chuckled, appearing behind them. "Just go to sleep for now, and once this is all done, you'll have a job at Emerald's house."

"I'm not taking the people who sympathize with the Chestons and Calabacks." She informed Kai.

"Hmm. Well, hopefully you five are some of the good ones. But looking at that ass, damn, maybe I should send some maids to my house from this place."

"Ugh, come on, Kai." Nadya grabbed Kai's arm and pulled him up the stairs to the second floor. Along the way, guards tried to stop them, but they were easily dealt with.

The three of them searched every room, finding other maids and butlers, knocking them out, and even found the daughters and sons of the Cheston house. Aaron wasn't there, though, unfortunately.

Kai tied the three of them up and placed them in a pocket dimension for the time being. Once all the rooms were checked, they went to the last room on the floor, the Patriarch's study room.

The door was kicked down, the sound echoing all over the room until it escaped into the hallway. One man sat behind a desk with a woman next to him. Another man, a young one this time, was sitting in one of the chairs, and there was one more man who was clearly a knight, meant to guard the man behind the desk.

"Hello there." Kai greeted them all.

"Y-You! Father, it's him! He's the one who harmed and humiliated me!" Aaron shouted while pointing at Kai.

"Dude. You're like, 21 years old. Are you seriously still running to your parents to tattletell?" Kai already had a low opinion of Aaron, but now it was at an all-time low.

"Brandon Cheston, you sick bastard!" Nadya growled. Her wand was pulsing with mana, and she nearly lost herself by looking at the man.

He raised an eyebrow. "Who's this wench? And how dare you attack my home?! I'll kill you three slowly, as well as your friends outside."

"He seems lovely." Kai laughed.

"Kill them," Brandon ordered the knight.

"Yes, My Lord." The knight unsheathed his sword, the metal sliding against his scabbard making a metallic sound. He stepped forward, and the house shook. His power was immense, and he was clearly a seasoned warrior.

"Wait! Let's talk this out first!" Kai put up his hands and shook them. "How about a little introduction. Hello, my name is Kai Lu-"

A silver blade moved toward Kai's neck in one swift motion. The attack was fast and precise. Even a superpower would have a hard time reacting to such a fast attack. Unfortunately for the knight, he aimed his blade at Kai first. Big mistake.

The sword shattered against Kai's skin, and the shock it produced hurt the knight's wrist.

"Nngh!"

"That's not nice. I wasn't done talking."
