The Hero of Hypnosis

Chapter 176: Horith vs ShadowEdge

"You two seriously fucked up trying to mess with me." Kai took one step and released all of his power. The sheer intensity of it made the electrons in the air vibrate so fast that electricity crackled around his body.

Taking one step forward was enough to make the atmosphere around them shift. Strong winds picked up, and the ground started to shake violently.

"H-HOLY FUCK!" The horned demon shouted in fear.

"We messed up! He wasn't a hero candidate! He's way more powerful than one!"

"H-He's a demigod! B-But there's only one demigod in the world a-and she's not even on this continent!"

"I don't know what the fuck you two are rambling about, and it doesn't matter. All I care about right now is killing you both."

The horned demon pushed yellow-eyes out of the way as Kai's fist slammed into the ground, creating a massive crater, and he jumped away from the attack.

Kai looked up, pulling the horned demon back down while charging up his fist with immense power.

"SH-SHIT!" The demon did the same, hoping his power was enough to contend with Kai's own, but then their fists connected, a massive explosion erupted from the clash, and his arm was completely blown off along with half of his body.

"EUGAHHHHHH!!!!" He roared in pain

"You monster!" Yellow-eyes shouted. He contorted his fingers into some weird shape, and five spikes of energy impaled Kai's body. It was a sealing spell. He followed up by trapping Kai in a cube seal, then trapping that cube in a massive pyramid seal.

"N-Nice work, yellow-eyes." Horned demon regenerated and flew next to the yellow-eyed demon. His hands crackled with purple lightning, and he conjured up a demonic blade.

"This sword cuts through the soul. Let's see how you handle this!" The demon swung the blade, passing through the barriers thanks to yellow-eyes helping out, and it pierced Kai's body, more specifically, his soul.

"Ha, haha, hahaha! We got him!"

"Really?" Kai's voice was low and powerful. He casually pulled out the sword from his chest, the shattered the barriers with the swinging of his arm. Using telekinesis, he grabbed the horned demon into his palm.

"I wonder if you're able to defend against your own blade."

"N-No! Wait! Please! I beg you!"

But Kai didn't listen. He plunged the sword into the demon's chest, and his eyes lit up with energy while he screamed in pain. Thanks to Kai's soul ability, he could sense that the demon's soul was being destroyed, slowly breaking away from the demon's body.

Kai smirked. "Let me help you with that." He tapped the demon's head, then his entire body exploded, including his soul.

"Heh."

"I-Impossible! H-He killed him so easily?!"

Kai turned his attention to the yellow-eyed demon. "You're next."

"N-No! No! I won't die here! No!" He ran away. He was a proud, powerful demon. But in front of Kai, he was nothing. There was no way he would win, so he ran away like a coward.

"I didn't say you could leave." Kai's voice carried power as it forced the demon to stop in his tracks.

"Please! Please! I beg you!" The demon sobbed.

Kai walked over to the demon, his energy surging and his expression cold and calculated. He stood in front of him and gave the demon one simple command. "Use your hands to crush your own head."

"N-No! Please no!" But his body didn't listen to him. Against his will, the demon's hands pressed against both of his ears, and he slowly started to crush his own head.

"Arghhhh! Ahhhhhh! Euagrhhhh! P-PLEASEEEE!! ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH----" His head was crushed.

Now that the threat to his family was over, Kai rushed to his girls, busting down the door and wrapping all of them in his arms.

"Are you all okay? You're not hurt, are you?"

"W-We're okay."

They hugged him back, feeling the love and warmth that came off him.

"Hehe." Kai touched their bellies, smiling as he did so. Most of his girls were around six months pregnant at this point, and he was excited to see his little ones arrive soon.

"Okay, I have to go. But I'll be back soon. Wait, actually." Kai left a clone with them just as he did in Ashenfall.

"Ooo, a Kai for us to play with." Laura joked around.

Kai smiled and hugged them one last time before heading back to the battlefield to help Horith.

---

"Arghh! Fuck, man! This isn't going as I hoped it would." Horith got up from the ground, readying his bow as a massive golden arrow blasted off in the direction of the demon king.

"Pathetic." ShadowEdge swatted the arrow away like a toy.

"This is the hero Gracia chose? I'm insulted! How dare you try to face me with such feeble power!" ShadowEdge stomped his foot, splitting the earth apart.

Tendrils of shadows sprouted out of the ground and rushed toward Horith.

"Haah!" Celeste jumped in front of him, shielding Horith from the thousands of shadow tendrils. But the shield she created out of holy light started to crack.

"I-I can't hold this for long! Hurry!" She shouted.

"Thank you!" Horith prepared his next attack. "You think I'm weak, demon? Then let's see if you can handle this!"

Horith leaped into the air and aimed his bow at ShadowEdge. Behind the hero, thousands of golden magic circles shimmered into existence as they each powered up as Horith drew back his bowstring.

"Take this! [Divine Rain]" As he fired a single arrow from his bow, thousands more followed from the magic circles behind him.

ShadowEdge's face beamed with excitement. "Haha! That is an impressive attack! However..." He held out his hand, forcing the arrows to come to a halt. Then, each of them turned purple and black, crackling with demonic energy. Finally, the arrows turned around, facing Horith instead of ShadowEdge

"This still isn't enough to stop me." He fired the arrows back at the hero, each of them containing more power than they did when Horith used the attack.

"Shit!" The hero flew out of the way, narrowly avoiding tons of arrows coming his way. When he flew downward, the arrow followed. When he shot back up, they were still on his tail.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" He shot his own arrows at the demonic ones, but they shattered instead of stopping them.

"Horith!" Celeste used her power to stop the demonic arrows, but when her power touched them, they sent a wave of energy to her body that nearly killed her.

"Know your place, woman." ShadowEdge blasted Celeste with a finger, knocking her out of the battle.

"Noooooo!!" With the rest of his power, Horith charged up his most powerful attack, the one attack that never failed him.

"I'll fucking kill you! Take this! [DIVINE STRIKE]" His bow became so massive that he had to create an avatar made of light to pull back the bowstring. Divine energy cracked with so much intensity that everyone all over the continent could feel its power.

A massive arrow made of divine light pulsed with power and was then fired into the oncoming demonic arrows, shattering them all, and continued its journey to ShadowEdge's chest.

"YES! HAHA! THAT'S WHAT I LIKE TO SEE! SHOW ME YOUR POWER!"

The demon king, full of excitement, drew his blade. "This shall be a legendary moment that will go down in history!" He swung his sword. He didn't use a spell, nor did he amplify his swing with his power. He didn't even use a sword form. ShadowEdge simply swung his sword downward, and it shattered the divine arrow.

Horith was in complete and utter disbelief, but he didn't have time to completely understand what happened as the wind produced by the demon king's attack cut the hero diagonally in half.
