Chapter 167: The Gryff Estate
"I want you to fortify the walls and put the entire County on lockdown. No one comes in or out of the territory. Guards and Knights must be stationed at all corners of the land and be prepared for anything that might happen."
"Yes, Madam Kirlia!" A knight bowed and relayed her orders to the other guards and knights.
Kirlia walked with pride, confidence, and power as she went back to her home. Ever since getting the news that her husband had been accused of deserting the kingdom's army, she went into overdrive, contacting close friends, gathering intelligence, and fortifying their land.
She knew that her husband, who is a General, would never abandon his post. Not only would his pride not allow that, but his honor and views of the world wouldn't either. He had come from a long line of Knights, while she herself came from a long line of mages.
The reason for their marriage wasn't just for love, but as a power move. Together, they raised their forces to be extremely powerful since they would be defending the continent. So running away would defeat that whole purpose. Not to mention that he would never put his family in danger.
"Oh, Ian. Who would accuse you of doing such a thing?" Kirlia thought about the Cheston house and their shadyness, but she brushed that off. While they were a bunch of snakes, not even they would compromise the well-being of the kingdom for power.
"I just hope that Janna stays in the Hero Academy. If she manages to do extremely well, then she can use that new influence to aid our family. And that boy...Kai. Sigh, if only he were here. I could use his strength."
Kirlia wasn't a pushover when it came to power. She was a tier-6 mage, nearly at the level of a tier-7 mage. Her husband, Ian, was a tier-8 warrior as well. But Kai was a tier-10 warrior, and the difference between tier-9 and 10 is massive, let alone tier-6 to 8.
The strongest person she had in her house's personal military was also Tier-8, and that was Ian's apprentice, whom he had trained since childhood. The boy, now a man, was a prodigy.
Ian had suspected something was up for a while, so instead of bringing him, he made his apprentice stay home so he could protect the place.
"Hector, you're in charge of protecting the estate. I have things to do. Notify me if anything is up."
"Yes, Madam Kirlia."
But as she was about to walk away, Kirlia and Hector spotted two people falling toward the ground.
"AHHHHHHHHH-OOOOOOOF!"
"Why did you teleport us into the air?" Janna groaned as she landed on top of Kai, her boobs in his face.
He slightly pushed her up, only enough to speak, but still had her boobs on his face.
"Why would you think of your house in the fucking air? Normally, people would imagine their house on the ground...you know...like normal people!"
"H-Hey! I just thought it would be cool if my house could fly. I didn't know you would use that image in my head to teleport us here!"
They both stood up, brushing the dust and dirt off their bodies. Kai looked around and was extremely impressed by the estate.
A large, beautiful garden with animal-shaped bushes wrapped around the entire estate. A large fountain with stone mermaids holding pots sat at the center of the place, and Janna's home looked like an ancient Greek temple that was converted into a house.
Every walkway was made out of marble, the place was extremely clean, and there were tons of guards and knights all around.
"Whoa, nice place you've got here." Kai complemented.
"Really? Thanks, some of the designs were my idea." Janna giggled.
"Stop right there! Who are you?!" A spear was pointed at Kai's throat, and he was instantly surrounded by over fifty guards and knights. Hector, Ian's apprentice, had no clue who Kai was, and he prepared himself for a fight.
"Who's this clown?" Kai asked Janna, not even showing an ounce of fear.
"Oh, that's Hector, my dad's apprentice. Cool guy, really stuck up though."
"My lady, step away from the intruder!" Hector demanded.
"He's not an intruder, he's my friend. Now put your weapons down." She demanded
The other guards and knights were reluctant to do so, but she complied since Janna was one of the people they had to listen to.
"I'm sorry, young lady, but I cannot do that. We have no idea who this boy is, and my master is currently missing. We cannot blindly trust people during such a time."
"Stand down, Hector, this boy is of no threat to us." Kirlia stepped forward with a huge grin on her face.
"Kai! It's good to see you again!" She gave him a big motherly hug.
'Sucks that I'm taller than her.' Kai wanted to shove his face in her huge tits, but he had to settle for them rubbing against his abdomen.
"It's good to see you, too, Lady Kirlia." He smiled
"Oh, please, call me Kirlia."
"Is that even allowed?" She was a noble, and he was not. While he didn't care for formalities, he liked her enough to show respect, especially around her subjects.
"If that bothers you so much, you can call me mother." She grinned, rubbing his chest.
"Whoa, that's pretty kinky."
She leaned in close, her boobs pressing against him once more. "It's only kinky if you call me mommy."
'And that's how I met your mother, kids.' Kirlia was already on his list to fuck, but now, she was on his list to impregnate.
Thankfully, she said that in a low tone, so Hector didn't hear what she said. He only saw her hugging him twice, and after seeing that, he knew Kai could be trusted.
"My daughter and I met Kai a few months ago. He saved us from bandits. Also, judging by his uniform, he's also a student at the Hero Academy. Treat him as an honored guest and include him in any and all meetings that pertain to my husband."
"I understand." Hector bowed.
"Kai! Come! Let me show you around!" Janna grabbed his arm and dragged him off.
"Wait, shouldn't we be focusing on finding your father?"
"Yes, so before I get all depressed, I wanted to at least have fun while showing you around."
"Meh, alright. Let's go."
After they left, Hector clenched his fists out of jealousy.
