The Growth of a Titan in the Cultivation World

Chapter 166- Provocation

"What?! Byeong-Ho?!!"

Yoon-Jae cried out in shock and then looked at this crazed person in doubt.

Was that really Byeong-Ho? Even Mar-Dule had a skeptical look on his face.

"Brother Sol, quickly dodge!"

Mar-Dule suddenly cried out.

Sol didn't have a weapon and that attack looked dangerous. Especially that sword, the Sword Intent it was releasing was deadly.

"Easier said than done!"

Despite Byeong-Ho's crazed state, he was still using his skills as a talented swordsman. This one attack blocked off all of Sol's path of retreat. If he tried to escape his head would roll on the ground. So, he had to take it head-on.

As blooming cherry blossom petals spread in the surroundings, Byeong-Ho's sword left a colorful trail as he swung down at Sol.

Sol crossed his arms and used his bracelets to block the attack.

DANG!

BOOM!

The loud sound of metal clashing against metal rang out before a massive shockwave exploded into the surroundings.

Bang!

The force of the attack caused Sol's knee to bend and slam onto the ground.

*Cough*

While Sol resisted Byeong-Ho's sword pushing down against his bracelets he coughed out a mouth full of blood.

It was suicide to block a strike like this head-on from someone like Byeong-Ho. Not to mention the absurd amount of Sword Intent he was wielding in each of his swings, this seemingly ordinary sword was not ordinary. It gave Sol the same feeling as Heon-Tae's Immortal Blade. If not for his bracelets' extraordinary nature, he might have been cut in half by this sword.

But with that said, most of Sol's internal organs were ruptured, and even his ears were beginning to leak blood.

"Brother Sol!"

Ji-Hoon and the others were frightened when they saw his condition.

"He's fine. As long as his heart doesn't stop these kinds of injuries aren't life threatening."

Yoon-Jae calmly said, and at the same time, Sol's seedling swayed before releasing a green glow that went on to encapsulate his damaged internal organs healing them.

Sol's bent knee slowly raised as he pushed back against Byeong-Ho's sword.

"Brother Byeong-Ho, come back to your senses!"

Dang!

Sol forced Byeong-Ho's sword back causing sparks to fly in all directions, as he stumbled back. However, he recovered unbelievably quickly and went to attack Sol once more with the same sword strike.

'How can he use that attack again?'

Normally, cultivators didn't fight so unhinged. They employed strategy and used their strength wisely while fighting opponents. However, Byeong-Ho was discarding all of that and putting all of his strength into each of his swings. But what worried Sol was the damage this was doing to Byeong-Ho's body. Using consecutive attacks like this must be ruining his already wound riddle body.

Cherry plum blossom petals spread out and Sword Intent raged as Byeong-Ho attacked once again.

Instead of retreating, Sol suddenly took a step forward. He sidestepped Byeong-Ho's sword which left a vicious gash in the ground, then using his missing arm as an entry point, he got behind him and wrapped a hand around his neck. Finally with a swift kick, he stepped onto the back of Byeong-Ho's knee to make him kneel.

Byeong-Ho immediately retaliated by twisting his arm and sending his sword stabbing upwards towards Sol's throat. However, Sol caught his wrist and the veins on his arm bulged as he forcefully lowered Byeong-Ho's sword that was just a few inches from his neck.

Just a second later, and the silver blade of the sword would have left a hole in his throat.

"Brother Byeong-Ho, what happened to you?"

Sol tried to talk to Byeong-Ho but only grunts of a wild beast came as a response.

Byeong-Ho struggled in his hold trying to get out. Sol had to reluctantly tighten his hold around his throat so he couldn't get free.

But now what? Sol didn't know what to do after reaching this stage.

"Brother Byeong-Ho, stop!… Please."

Byeong-Ho was thrashing around wildly, and it pained Sol to see him like this.

"Sol, just knock him unconscious. We'll figure out what to do after."

Sol was almost teary-eyed as he nodded to Yoon-Jae's suggestion.

Sol's hand then tightened around Byeong-Ho's throat and the latter began wheezing. His struggle increased but Sol remained firm.

In only a few seconds Byeong-Ho's face turned red, and his body slowly started to become.

Sol didn't like this, but he didn't loosen his grip.

Byeong-Ho's eyes soon rolled back, and it seemed as if he was finally about to lose consciousness. However, at that moment, Sol suddenly sensed something.

His head snapped towards the sword in Byeong-Ho's hand. He stared at intently before a thought suddenly struck him, which made him hurriedly let go of Byeong-Ho.

Byeong-Ho collapsed to his knees and began dry coughing. But soon his head shot up and his bloodshot eye glared at Sol.

Sol took a few steps back as a raging Sword Intent started to surround Byeong-Ho's body.

With that, Sol would no longer be able to perform that choke hold as the Sword Intent would rip his arm to shreds.

Byeong-Ho gripped his sword before charging at Sol. Meanwhile, everyone was confused by Sol's seemingly dumb actions.

Yoon-Jae suddenly turned to Little Abdu who was casually licking his paw.

"Can't you step in and help?"

Little Abdu looked up from his self-grooming to watch as Byeong-Ho who was surrounded by Sword Intent charged at Sol in a crazed frenzy. Afterward, he simply looked away and said.

"He doesn't seem to be in need of my help."

Yoon-Jae frowned.

"But can't you at least help anyway?"

"Look brat, I only came here to protect you guys from Spirit Beasts in the Spiritual Realm, that kid looks like your friend, so this is on you to solve. I'll step in if it gets too dangerous but for now, you're just overreacting."

Yoon-Jae was just about to flip Little Abdu off and curse at him, but Little Abdu suddenly added.

"Plus, I don't think he wants me to step in, he would have said so if he did."

Yoon-Jae knew his words were right, but what was Sol doing?

BANG!

Sword Intent exploded out and Yoon-Jae turned to see Sol dodging Byeong-Ho's attacks.

"Tch!"

After clicking his tongue, Yoon-Jae stepped forward ready to help Sol subdue Byeong-Ho. However, Heon-Tae suddenly held him back and stepped forward instead.

"Let me Brother Yoon-Jae. That sword is similar to my blade, it's likely a weapon Youngest Brother got from the Sword Immortal's Inheritance. You might not be able to handle his Sword Intent. Also… I don't think Brother Sol is trying to subdue Byeong-Ho."

"It looks more like he's purposely provoking him."

Mar-Dule interjected while closely observing from the side.
