The Growth of a Titan in the Cultivation World

Chapter 129- Ghosts Aren’t Real

Upon seeing this, Sol thought to himself.

'That Nian Beast must have taken another route to get to where I was. It should know the palace really well.'

Sol figured this was disadvantageous for him since the library was actually on the West Wing.

When he was over there, he was in its territory.

Thankfully, Sol thought to trap it in that room so even if he went back, he didn't have to worry about the Nian Beast attacking him while he read books in the library.

Sol resumed his walk, but he couldn't help but glance down at his wrist which was missing a bracelet. Those runic markings were still on his skin.

Sol currently felt the adrenaline and boost in power the bloodline energy always gives him when he took off the bracelets.

'It's not so bad as back then, I can handle taking one off for a week at least.'

Sol was even beginning to feel this type of power increase when removing one bracelet wasn't a power increase anymore, but just his natural strength returning to normal.

Those bracelets were likely seals that restricted a hidden power within him, so maybe from now on he shouldn't think of his bloodline power as a foreign source.

As Sol was contemplating these thoughts while looking at the runic marking on his wrist, the Legacy Rune that was on the back of the same hand drew his attention.

It was flashing with a soft glow.

Sol looked up and saw a corner up ahead.

He had already left the arch openings behind and walked further into the palace.

Sol paused before he scooted over to the corner and peeped around it.

What he saw was an ordinary door with a massive blue rune covering its surface. It was flashing with a soft glow just like the Legacy Rune on his hand.

Sol released a sigh of relief when he saw this, then stepped out from behind the corner and walked towards the door.

He didn't know what this massive rune on the door was, but it was way better than seeing a ghost when he looked around the corner.

"Haha, maybe I shouldn't be so scared, there's nothing to be scared of since ghosts aren't rea-"

Sol was about to reiterate 'ghosts aren't real' a mantra he had been saying non-stop, but he couldn't. This was because his head started to buzz, and his vision began to distort.

Sol stumbled mid-step and had to shift his body to hurriedly lean against the wall before he fell.

"Ugh!"

Sol grabbed his pounding head, and he had to close his eyes because the hallway began to spin wildly. But even after closing his eyes, he still felt like everything was spinning.

Sol didn't know it, but the rune on the door and the Legacy Rune on his hand were flashing non-stop.

Unable to handle this nauseating pain, Sol slid down the wall and curled up into a ball on the ground.

He then started crying for some reason.

Sure, Sol was a crybaby at times, but this was rather abnormal. He had gone through pain worse than this before, but something about this different. It wasn't physical pain, but physiological agony.

His emotions felt out of control, and his mind was a jumbled mess.

This made Sol start to panic slightly. He couldn't control his body, and his mind felt so sluggish that he couldn't form a proper thought.

Everything about this situation terrified him. It felt like he was trapped inside his own body. No, rather, it felt like he didn't own his body anymore. He felt completely disconnected from his mind, but at the same time fully connected to know what he was feeling.

This state of confusion and dissociation lasted for nearly an hour. Only then did these symptoms start to fade gradually to Sol's relief.

But by this point his eyes were puffy and completely red from crying.

As Sol regained control of his body, his sobs turned to hiccups and soon he was able to use his hand to wipe his eyes.

After another minute or two, he could move again, and he immediately leaped up from the ground before looking around suspiciously. It was as if he wasn't sobbing uncontrollably on the ground just moments ago.

The situation was that bizarre. But during the moment when he was sobbing, or even now after he had stopped, he didn't know what had caused it.

A terrified sensation washed over Sol when he thought about how helpless he had felt in that situation.

If someone had come to slice him in half with a saber, he might have just sat there and cried as his internal organs painted this entire hallway red.

"Damn it, just what the hell just happened to me?"

Sol glanced around some more before his eyes landed on the rune that was on the door.

It was no longer flashing wildly like before, just shining with a soft glow. But Sol didn't know that.

"It was a ghost, wasn't it? I've been feeling this weird sensation ever since I stepped foot inside this place. Wait!"

Sol was just about to open the door, but he suddenly stopped and blinked twice.

If this place was really haunted, whose ghost would be haunting it?

Suddenly, behind Sol, a distorted and blurry figure stepped out of the wall and into the hallway.

The figure stopped for a brief moment and glanced at Sol's back but soon continued on its way and left by walking through the wall on the other side of the hallway.

Sol shivered when that blurry figure glanced at him.

He immediately spun around just in time to see the figure pass through the wall.

Sol's face went pale, and he stumbled back into the door. Probably from being unlocked already, the door easily swung open, and Sol fell onto his butt inside the room.

He had instinctively activated his Heavenly Eyes when he saw that ghostly figure, perhaps hoping the darkness was the cause of him seeing things that look like a person.

However, as Sol fell back into the room with his Heavenly Eyes activated, the room became clear as day to him and what he saw on the walls caused him to shake uncontrollably.

Goosebumps ran up his arms and his mind was screaming at him to GET OUT.

Which was fitting because those were the exact same words carved on the walls haphazardly, both in dried blood and with a pointed object which could be a sword.

"Hiccup!"

Sol started to have hiccupping fit due to the horrid sight. Coupled with what he went through to get here as well as what he saw just now, he felt like he was going to go crazy.

If ghosts aren't real, then what the hell was this?!
