Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Announcement of the End of Part One
This is the author speaking.
Thank you so much for reading “” up until now.
I’m genuinely thrilled that more people have read it than I ever imagined.
To be honest, I’ve published several other works on Kakuyomu, but getting ranked felt like a distant dream. However, with “The Worst Marquis,” I actually made it onto the rankings, which truly surprised me.
Currently, I’m working on the epilogue for Part One, so please bear with me for a little while longer.
Epilogue:
① Ace
This character has surprisingly high ratings from everyone, which even shocked me. I can’t skip writing about him in the epilogue, so I plan to give him a satisfying ending.
② Leon, Fiona
I also intend to write about these two. In a way, they were the targets of readers’ hate, serving as the “got what they deserved” characters. However, the protagonist’s revenge drastically changed their lives. I’m a bit anxious about whether the ending will satisfy everyone, but I want to bring their stories to a close.
③ Selens Earl and his Wife
I’m not entirely sure if these two need to be written about, but I think their ending will be exactly what everyone expects.
④ Edior Viscount, Karmais Viscount
These two are barely hanging on by a thread, but it’s certain that they won’t live out their natural lifespans. I haven’t decided yet whether to write from their perspectives or their sons’, but their endings will undoubtedly be miserable.
Additionally, I know some readers might have unresolved questions, so let me address a few here…
Regarding the dissatisfaction about the protagonist’s mother being poisoned:
In my mind, the protagonist’s mother was the head of the spies but not a spy herself. That’s why she couldn’t detect the poison.
As for why the protagonist’s mother married someone like Gazel, it was a political marriage arranged with the second or third son of a lower noble family. The reason she married someone of such a different status was to avoid interference from the House of Zarfing, which would have been a risk if she married someone of equal or higher status.
I’m not sure if this explanation will satisfy everyone, but this is the setting I started with when writing this story.
Now, I’ll take some time to work on the epilogue and release it gradually.
