The Greatest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Tensura

Chapter 74: The Day of Veldora’s Supposed Attack

Chloe had decided to stay with Luminous Valentine until the foretold attack by Veldora occurred. During this time, Luminous found herself in deep thought.

She sat elegantly on her throne, swirling a crystal glass filled with dark red wine as she contemplated the future of her kingdom. The Holy Empire of Ruberios.

It had a nice ring to it.

For centuries, the vampires had remained isolated, hidden from the world. Their kingdom had thrived in the darkness, but was it enough?

"A nation grows strong through expansion, influence, and control," she muttered, her golden eyes narrowing.

She had always dismissed the idea of ruling humans. They were weak, fickle, and short-lived. But according to Chloe's future knowledge, she had done it—and it had worked.

With her decision made, Luminous summoned her two most trusted subordinates—Ghunter and Louis.

Both men arrived swiftly, kneeling before their queen.

Ghunter, her loyal strategist, had a calculating gaze behind his glasses. Cold, cunning, and fiercely devoted.

Louis, her most powerful general, exuded confidence. Tall, regal, and utterly ruthless when it came to protecting Luminous and their people.

"My Queen, you have summoned us?" Ghunter asked, his voice smooth and respectful.

Luminous placed the wine glass down and crossed her legs elegantly.

"Yes. I have decided on our future."

Louis raised an eyebrow. "And what might that be, My Lady?"

Luminous leaned forward, her gaze piercing.

"We will establish the Holy Empire of Ruberios."

A brief silence.

Ghunter, his sharp mind already calculating the implications.

Louis, on the other hand, smirked. "Hmph. An empire? With humans? That is quite… unlike you, My Queen."

Luminous smirked back. "I know. And yet, according to someone who has seen the future, this decision will make us stronger."

Ghunter interlaced his fingers. "Interesting… if that's the case, then we should consider the structure. How do you wish to rule?"

Luminous tapped a delicate yet deadly finger against the armrest. "We will allow humans to live under our rule. They will see me as their unseen god, their eternal protector. The vampires will remain at the top, but we will use faith, law, and strength to control them."

Louis chuckled. "Ah, so rather than ruling by fear, you will have them worship you. Clever."

Ghunter nodded in approval. "If we control their faith, we control their loyalty. It will ensure long-term stability. However, we must carefully select which humans to integrate. Too many, and they may rebel. Too few, and our influence remains weak."

Luminous smiled darkly. "That is where you two come in. Start making the necessary moves. Choose the humans wisely. We will build an empire where both vampires and humans thrive… under my rule."

Louis grinned. "It shall be done, My Queen."

Ghunter bowed slightly. "I will begin drafting the necessary policies and selecting targets for influence."

Unbeknownst to them, Arion's spies had infiltrated deep within Ruberios.

They had watched the entire meeting from concealed positions. Every word, every plan, relayed back to Arion.

Upon hearing Luminous' decision, Arion smirked.

"So, she truly intends to establish the Holy Empire." He leaned forward, eyes gleaming with interest.

"Fine. I shall help her."

He then gave a command to his spies:

"Move in the shadows. Ensure her plans succeed. Guide her without her knowing. Let's see how this 'Holy Empire of Ruberios' truly unfolds."

His spies nodded, disappearing into the darkness.

With her decision made and her subordinates working to bring it to life, Luminous felt a strange excitement.

For the first time in a long while, she was not merely protecting her people—she was expanding, evolving.

As she gazed out at the night sky, she whispered to herself:

"The Holy Empire of Ruberios… let's see what fate has in store."

Days later.....

Luminous Valentine stood at the highest tower of her grand castle, overlooking her city, her golden eyes glowing in the dark. Below her, an army of vampires stood at attention, weapons gleaming under the moonlight, their expressions firm, prepared for the legendary Storm Dragon's attack.

The tension in the air was suffocating. The streets were eerily silent, and only the howling wind echoed through Ruberios.

But Veldora was nowhere to be seen.

Chloe's heart pounded.

This wasn't how it was supposed to happen.

She had seen the future. Veldora was supposed to descend upon Ruberios in a storm of destruction. Yet now—there was nothing.

Luminous noticed Chloe's unease and turned to her, her expression calm but questioning.

"What's wrong? You seem troubled."

Chloe's hands clenched into fists as she tried to sense Veldora's aura, but no matter how hard she focused—he was not there.

Panic crept into her voice. "This… This isn't right. He should have attacked by now."

Luminous raised an eyebrow. "You're saying you were wrong?"

Chloe shook her head frantically. "No. This is the day. This exact moment. But… something must have happened. Something changed."

She took a step back, her mind racing.

If Veldora never attacked, then… what else has changed?

Would Rimuru still be reincarnated? Would the future she knew—the future she fought to protect—still happen?

Luminous crossed her arms, her sharp mind working through the possibilities. "If you're this concerned, what do you plan to do?"

Chloe took a deep breath, steeling herself.

"I need to go to the Jura Forest. If something has stopped Veldora, I need to find out what it is.**"

Luminous regarded her for a moment, then nodded. "Go. But be careful. If the future has changed, then we don't know what else might be different."

Chloe turned to leave, but before she could, Luminous placed a hand on her shoulder.

"If anything goes wrong, come back here. You're under my protection now."

Chloe felt warmth in those words. Luminous was cold and calculating, but deep down—she cared.

With a small nod, Chloe activated her teleportation magic, vanishing in a flash of light.

Far away, deep within the shadows of the Cardinal World, Arion stood with his arms crossed, waiting.

He had been watching. He knew Chloe would panic. He knew she would go to Jura Forest.

And he had prepared for this.

As soon as Chloe appeared in Jura, she would find herself walking straight into his domain.

A trap had been set.

Arion's lips curled into a smirk.

"Let's see what the girl from the future has to say."
