The Greatest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Tensura

Chapter 73: The Future of Ruberios

Luminous Valentine sat in silent contemplation, her crimson eyes locked onto Chloe as the mysterious woman continued to reveal secrets of the future. The room was dimly lit, a heavy silence lingering between them, broken only by Chloe's voice.

"In the future, you will establish a nation—The Holy Empire of Ruberios."

Luminous' fingers stopped tapping against the armrest of her throne. A flicker of curiosity passed through her usually composed expression.

"…A holy empire?" she repeated, her tone carrying equal parts disbelief and intrigue.

Chloe nodded. "Yes. A country where vampires and humans live together under your rule."

A sharp laugh escaped Luminous' lips, filled with amusement and skepticism. "You're joking. Me? Ruling over humans?" Her crimson gaze sharpened. "You must take me for a fool. Why would I ever allow such a thing?"

Chloe remained unfazed. "Because in the future, you do. Not only do you allow humans to live in your territory, but you create a system where they thrive under your protection. You rule as an unseen god—worshipped, revered, but never directly seen. The people pray to you, believing you are their divine protector, even though they never meet you in person."

Luminous leaned forward slightly, eyes narrowing. "You expect me to believe that I would lower myself to such a role? To cater to humans? The very race that—" She stopped herself, her expression darkening.

Chloe understood. The wounds of Veldanava and Lucia's deaths were still fresh. Humans had betrayed the one being that had protected them the most. That pain, that anger, still lingered in Luminous' heart.

But Chloe didn't back down. "I understand why you doubt it. But whether you believe it or not, that's the future you choose. And it's a future that works. The Holy Empire of Ruberios becomes a powerful, stable nation. A sanctuary, protected under your absolute rule."

Luminous scoffed, leaning back again, arms crossed. "And what of the vampires? You think my people would just accept this? That we, the true rulers of the night, would allow humans to walk among us as equals?"

Chloe tilted her head. "Not equals. You are their goddess, and your vampire elite are the ones who enforce your will. The humans live under your laws, under your protection. They depend on you. And in return, they offer you worship, loyalty, and faith."

Luminous fell silent, her mind racing.

A nation where humans and vampires coexisted? Where she ruled from the shadows, unseen but omnipresent? Where her name was spoken with devotion rather than fear?

It sounded ridiculous.

And yet…

There was something compelling about it.

"…If this is the future I create, then what does that mean for me?" Luminous finally asked. "Do I remain the same? Do I change?"

Chloe's expression softened. "You don't lose who you are. But you grow. You become someone that people look up to, not just fear. You create a world where your people are safe, where no one dares to challenge you, where you are revered as a divine existence."

Luminous didn't respond immediately. She simply stared at Chloe, her thoughts unreadable.

Then, after a long pause, she let out a slow breath.

"…Interesting."

That was all she said. But in that single word, Chloe could tell—Luminous was thinking about it.

And that was enough.

Beyond the chamber walls, hidden in the shadows, Arion's spies listened with rapt attention.

The information was… beyond valuable.

A future where Luminous ruled over a Holy Empire? A world where humans and vampires coexisted? A nation under the rule of an unseen god?

This was something Arion himself needed to hear.

The spies immediately relayed the information through their magical link.

And in the depths of his domain, Arion smiled.

"How fascinating."

Luminous Valentine was still processing everything Chloe had told her when the young woman dropped yet another revelation.

"There is someone else who will change the Cardinal World in the future," Chloe said, her tone calm yet certain.

Luminous raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And who might that be? Another god? A forgotten deity?"

Chloe shook her head. "No. He is a slime."

A long silence filled the chamber.

Then—

"A slime?" Luminous blinked, utterly bewildered. "You mean… one of those weak, mindless creatures? The kind that even a child could defeat?"

Chloe nodded. "Yes, a slime. But not just any slime—he will be reincarnated and will become one of the most powerful beings in the world. He will change the Cardinal World in ways no one could have imagined."

Luminous scoffed. "You're joking. A mere slime? How could something so weak become so powerful?"

Chloe remained composed. "Because he will defy the natural order. He will evolve beyond what anyone expects. He will unite nations, protect the weak, and challenge the very gods themselves. He will surpass limits no one thought possible."

Luminous leaned back, her mind racing. A slime? Of all things? The idea was absurd, but after everything else Chloe had revealed, she found herself intrigued.

"What's his name?"

Chloe smiled. "Rimuru. Rimuru Tempest."

Luminous tapped her fingers against the armrest, deep in thought. "Hmph. A slime named Rimuru… I'll believe it when I see it."

But even as she dismissed the idea, there was a spark of curiosity in her eyes.

Far away, Arion sat in his throne, listening carefully as his spies relayed every word.

Rimuru… Tempest.

He already knew that name.

Veldanava had told him about the reincarnated slime long ago, warning him that he would become a key figure in the future of the world. But now, hearing it firsthand from Chloe, it was different.

Arion leaned back, his gaze cold and calculating.

"So the future she speaks of is already unfolding. But was I in that future? If not, then this one will be different."

His golden eyes narrowed.

"I think it's time I meet this girl myself."

He tapped his fingers against the armrest. But before that, there was another matter to address.

Somewhere in a hidden training ground, Veldora roared as he clashed against the Primordials.

A storm of power erupted as he unleashed a devastating blast, forcing Noir, Blanc, Jaune, and Violet to retreat momentarily. But before he could strike again, a voice echoed in his mind.

"Veldora. Come to me. Now."

Veldora stopped instantly.

He knew that voice.

It was Arion.

Without hesitation, he left the battlefield, vanishing in a swirl of draconic energy.

Moments later, he appeared in Arion's chamber.

"Hahaha! It must be important if you're calling me in the middle of training!" Veldora laughed, crossing his arms. "What is it, Arion?"

Arion turned to face him, his expression unreadable. "It's about the future. More specifically, about you."

Veldora raised an eyebrow. "Me? What about me?"

Arion's voice was calm but firm. "According to a time traveler, in the future, you will attack Ruberios. You will bring destruction to Luminous' territory."

Veldora's eyes widened. "What?! Me? Destroy Ruberios?!" He scoffed. "That doesn't sound like something I would do!"

Arion narrowed his eyes. "And yet, she says it will happen."

Veldora frowned, clearly confused. "But why would I do that? What reason would I have?"

Arion sighed. "That's exactly what I intend to find out. But let me make one thing clear—" He met Veldora's gaze with unwavering authority. "You will not be doing that."

Veldora blinked. Then, after a moment, he grinned. "Hah! Like I'd let myself be manipulated into something like that anyway! But… I do want to know why this 'future me' would do such a thing."

Arion nodded. "We will find out soon enough. Until then, stay on your guard. The future is not set in stone, but it seems the pieces are already moving."

Veldora chuckled. "Heh, I never thought I'd be hearing about my own future like this. Alright, Arion, I'll be careful."

But deep down, even as he laughed, Veldora couldn't shake the uneasy feeling creeping into his mind.
