Chapter 31: Bear Queen Betrayal
In the room of the Bear Queen, Mushpuff, Plagiarize, Snorter, Bird, Hoofa, Gumpton, Klumpkrump, and Qaeron all sat in chairs. The Bear Queen invited them all here after the very intense and very long trial because there was something she wished to speak to all of them about.
“First of all, the Bearmy would like to personally apologize for tormenting you for so long,” said the Bear Queen. “Look out this window.”
The gang got up and walked to the windows on the wall of the room of the Bear Queen. The windows were facing the large courtyard of Bear Fortress. The courtyard was crowded with thousands of Bearmy soldiers. The Bear Queen took out a megaphone and spoke to them.
“Hold up the sign!” shouted the Bear Queen into the megaphone. Each individual bear held up its own piece of colored paper. Unfortunately, it appeared that the bears had not stayed in their proper positions, so all the gang saw was a massive mess of randomly colored paper.
“I don’t think your bears are in the correct positions,” said Snorter.
“Nonsense!” said the Bear Queen. “That specific combination of colors means ‘we’re sorry’.”
“...In what language?” asked Klumpkrump.
“That’s just what it means,” said the Bear Queen. “It’s not in a language. Oh! I almost forgot! Your locket, Qaeron.”
The Bear Queen produced Qaeron’s locket and held it out.
“I really do want to know what’s inside it, though,” she said.
“I brought it with me from home, yez?” said Qaeron.
“But what does that mean??” asked the Bear Queen.
“Mmmm, from home, yez?” repeated Qaeron.
“If you don’t tell me then I will have no choice but to reveal who I truly am!” exclaimed the Bear Queen.
“Who really am you?” asked Plagiarize.
“Muahahahaha!” laughed the Bear Queen. “I am actually the Bear Queen’s evil identical sister, Grazer! The real Bear Queen is dead, killed by Qaeron! And now I am going to figure out how he made what’s inside this locket and why it kills people so I can make an ultimate weapon and rule the universe!”
While Grazer was talking, Qaeron had taken the locket out of her paws and opened it in front of her face. She then died.
