Chapter 37: Enchanting Cult Leader 3

One day, a shadow guard from the Master of the Nebula Sect arrived with news: Skycrest Sect had gathered other righteous sects, planning to launch an assault on the Nebula Sect.

The Client saw an opportunity arise, believing this might be her chance to uncover the reason behind Skycrest Sect's hostility toward the Nebula Sect. Under the cover of night, she infiltrated Skycrest Sect to probe for answers. However, she was discovered. Fighting desperately, she managed to escape, but after losing too much blood, she collapsed in the forest. By chance, she was saved by Gu Han, the son of the Overlord of the Eternal Night Order. As time passed, they developed feelings for each other.

This turn of events aligned perfectly: Skycrest Sect, leading numerous martial artists, attacked Nebula Sect, with Gu Han among them.

In the end, the Client willingly met her death at Gu Han's sword. But unbeknownst to her, after her passing, Gu Han vowed never to marry.

Elora paused, deep in thought. It seemed that in addition to fulfilling the Client's wish, she would need to help restore Nebula Sect's tarnished reputation. Thankfully, these two tasks would not conflict; in fact, one could even aid the other.

"Sect Master, I've brought the meal," Hong Xiu's voice broke through her musings. Elora, now feeling a pang of hunger, rose and donned her clothes. Indeed, her thoughtful attendants never failed to anticipate her needs.

"Come in," Elora called warmly.

"Sect Master, a secret report from the shadow guards has arrived." Hong Xiu respectfully handed Elora a small note.

Elora unfurled it, her eyes narrowing. "As expected, Evan Skylar can't restrain himself any longer. He's already begun to make his move." With a derisive laugh, she tossed the note into the brazier, watching as it was consumed by flames.

"Sect Master, is something the matter?" Hong Xiu, uneasy at the smile on Elora's lips, asked.

"It's nothing, just a few circus clowns," Elora replied, her voice dripping with disdain. She turned to Hong Xiu, her expression serious. "I will be leaving in a few days for some matters I must attend to. Inform the others."

"Understood. Should Hong Xiu accompany you?"

"No, you are the most reliable among them. While I am away, you will temporarily manage the Sect. If anything arises, have Qing Shuang send word to me."

Qing Shuang was the bamboo viper Yin Zhu had raised. With a whistle, Yin Zhu controlled the snake, and the mere sight of it meant that something significant was about to occur, prompting Elora to hurry back to the Sect.

"Understood, Sect Master."

...

Once Hong Xiu had left, Elora sat cross-legged on her bed, gently closing her eyes and clearing her mind of distractions. With a deep breath, she focused her energy in the dantian, sensing a rising warmth within.

The heat grew denser, a sign of her profound inner cultivation. She directed the energy downward, allowing it to flow through the Huiyin point and throughout her body, circulating in a steady rhythm.

A ray of sunlight filtered through the window, casting a warm glow upon Elora. In that tranquil moment, with no makeup and lost in meditation, she resembled a celestial being, radiant and ethereal.

As Elora slowly opened her eyes, she exhaled a cloud of stale breath. The first light of dawn had broken, and despite having spent the night awake, she felt invigorated, her body enveloped in warmth.

She had taken a moment to probe her inner energy, discovering that her qi had become immensely powerful, flowing in a way that seemed unstoppable. It seemed that her success in mastering the final move of the Nebula Eclipse had contributed to this surge of strength.

The final move—Swallowing the Stars—was far more crucial than the previous seven. Only by mastering this final move could the entire set of techniques become complete, amplifying their power exponentially. From now on, any martial technique she learned would come swiftly.

Most importantly, by directing her inner strength into her opponent's dantian, she could consume their martial energy entirely.

Yet, mastering Swallowing the Stars was no easy feat. Only Elora, the current Sect Master, had succeeded—besides the founder of the Nebula Sect.

The Client had secluded herself for years to attempt the final move, but in her past life, she had failed. This time, however, Elora's natural talent and fortuitous circumstances allowed her to succeed.

Rising to her feet, Elora quickly tidied herself and stepped outside. Using her lightness skills, she glided over the abyss, reaching the summit of Nebula Mountain on the opposite side.

Nebula Sect stood atop a sheer cliff, surrounded by deep ravines. A single misstep could send one plummeting into the chasm below. It was a place difficult to defend, yet even harder to attack.

The Sect was aptly named Nebula, for from here, the stars and the vast expanse of the sea could be seen up close.

There was only one bridge, a suspension bridge that connected Nebula Mountain to the Sect. Without it, no one could enter or leave.

The bridge swayed midway up the mountain, and on the first and fifteenth of each month, the Master of the Nebula Sect would activate a mechanism to raise the bridge from the mountainside to the cliff edge, allowing passage.

At all other times, the path was closed, leaving no way in or out.
