Chapter 36: Enchanting Cult Leader 2

"Didn't the Sect Master say she would leave seclusion today?" Yin Zhu anxiously peered at the entrance of the Sect Master's closed meditation chamber. "Do you think she's... gone mad?"

"Keep quiet, and no one will mistake you for a mute!" Zi Ling, with a cold expression, cast a frosty glance at Yin Zhu, her presence growing more imposing by the second.

"The Sect Master has emerged!"

"I didn't..." Yin Zhu began to explain, but was cut off by Hong Xiu's joyful exclamation.

Everyone turned to see a woman in red, gracefully approaching. Even having grown up alongside the Sect Master, they were still occasionally stunned by her unparalleled beauty.

"What's the matter?" Elora smiled, amused by their dazed expressions.

"Sect Master, you are truly beautiful!" The liveliest among them, Yin Zhu, giggled as she clung to Elora's arm in a playful display of affection.

"Yin Zhu, don't be disrespectful!" Bing Li tried to pull Yin Zhu away, but Elora stopped her.

"It's fine. Yin Zhu has always been this way since she was little."

"Did you hear that? The Sect Master says it's fine," Yin Zhu teased, sticking out her tongue playfully at Bing Li.

Zi Ling, the most disciplined among them, shot Yin Zhu a disapproving look.

Elora smiled gently at them. These five women were her trusted confidants, having trained alongside her since childhood.

Zi Ling, known for her strict adherence to rules, wore a black robe, her hair pulled high, exuding an aura of coldness. She was skilled in hidden weapons.

Bing Li, dressed in white, possessed a serene and ethereal presence, always gentle with others, and was a master of medical arts.

Zhi Yao, who rarely spoke, was adept in lightness kung fu.

Yin Zhu, playful and adorable, specialized in the arts of witchcraft.

And at the head of them all was Hong Xiu, graceful and composed, with an innate ability to care for others. She excelled in whip techniques and was responsible for intelligence gathering.

Together, they formed Elora's inner circle.

"Sect Master, would you like to bathe first?" Hong Xiu, knowing Elora's preference for cleanliness, had already prepared the water, anticipating her needs upon emerging from seclusion.

"That sounds good." Elora sniffed the faint odor on her clothes, unable to bear it any longer.

...

Leaning back in the bath, Elora let out a satisfied sigh, taking the opportunity to sort through the chaotic memories she had hastily absorbed earlier. She had rushed to receive them in order to avoid suspicion when leaving seclusion, but now her mind felt muddled.

"Lora, I've found some information beyond the Client's memories!" Vixen materialized before Elora, her expression mysterious. "Do you want to know?"

"Speak," Elora replied, casting a disdainful glance at Vixen, who was trying to appear enigmatic in front of her—she was getting bold.

"Don't forget to bring me something tasty!" Vixen added, her eyes sparkling.

"I know, now hurry and send it to me."

Memory transfer...

After receiving the memories, Elora rubbed her temples, finally piecing together the tangled events.

All the calamity had been set in motion by the Nebula Eclipse, a legendary treasure of the Nebula Sect. Only the Masters of the Nebula Sect were allowed to study it. Despite having only eight moves, the power of the Nebula Eclipse was formidable.

Evan Skylar, the leader of the Skycrest Sect, had, by chance, learned two of the Nebula Eclipse's secret phrases. He secretly studied them, and his strength grew exponentially. Eventually, he devised a plan to take the Nebula Eclipse for himself.

Through various means, Evan discovered that the Nebula Eclipse was the sacred treasure of the Nebula Sect. However, to steal it, he needed a justification that wouldn't tarnish the Skycrest Sect's reputation as a righteous sect.

Evan Skylar came up with a brilliant plan: he secretly began committing crimes under the Nebula Sect's name—robbing, pillaging, and wreaking havoc. Over time, rumors spread that the Nebula Sect was a cult, known for its wickedness.

When members of the Nebula Sect learned of this, they stepped forward to deny any involvement, claiming the blame had been framed on them. But no one believed them, dismissing their defense with the saying, "A fly doesn't land on a flawless egg."

The Nebula Sect later sent people to investigate, and it was discovered that Skycrest Sect was behind it all. In a furious retaliation, the Nebula Sect killed several of Skycrest Sect's disciples.

The very next day, news of the so-called cult's brutal killing of righteous disciples spread like wildfire. The Nebula Sect's reputation as a bloodthirsty, cruel cult grew stronger.

Though the Nebula Sect attempted to explain themselves, no one listened. Unable to retaliate directly, they could only swallow their anger in silence.

It wasn't until later that Skycrest Sect rallied numerous other sects, under the guise of justice and the elimination of cults, to attack the Nebula Sect, eventually leading to the death of the Client.

However, Evan Skylar never obtained the Nebula Eclipse.

The Client had been aware of Skycrest Sect's framing of the Nebula Sect, though she hadn't understood their true motives. She had once infiltrated Skycrest Sect to find evidence, but their secrets were well-hidden, and despite her efforts, she had never managed to uncover the truth. Frustrated, she had resorted to sending spies to keep watch instead.
