The Flash Marriage Husband is from a Top-tier Aristocratic Family

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Huo Siyuan is Rejected

Xia Wan sat under a tree, her eyes vacant, unsure of where to go next.

She thought about how she was still in school, but the school wouldn't reopen until September, and right now, she didn't even have a place to stay.

With these thoughts, Xia Wan couldn't help but sigh.

At that moment, she suddenly felt a shadow appear at her feet.

She looked up to find a gracefully dressed elderly lady standing there.

The elderly lady had a warm smile on her face, and her slightly cloudy eyes were fixed on Xia Wan.

Xia Wan looked up and met the elderly lady's gaze before giving her a bright smile.

She enthusiastically said to the elderly lady, "Grandmother, is there something you need? It's really hot here, please come sit under the tree for some shade."

Saying this, she stood up carefully and assisted the elderly lady to sit on a chair under the tree.

Once the elderly lady was settled, Xia Wan sat back down beside her.

Grandmother Huo smiled kindly, gazing at Xia Wan with affection in her eyes.

She laughed warmly and said, "Haha, good girl."

Xia Wan felt a sense of kindness from the elderly lady. She looked at her and felt as though this elderly woman was very familiar, almost like family.

She smiled and responded, "Grandmother, it's so hot today, why did you come out? It's easy to get heatstroke in this weather."

Grandmother Huo, looking at the beautiful and sweet Xia Wan, thought that such a well-behaved girl was truly adorable. Looking at her, she couldn't bear to think of her being mistreated. She imagined her grandson would feel the same way and would never want to hurt her.

Suddenly, the elderly lady took Xia Wan's small hand in hers and looked at it. "Your hand is so soft and tender."

"She's definitely the granddaughter-in-law I've chosen," Grandmother Huo thought to herself, speaking softly, "Wanwan, it's fine, I just got out of the car, it's not hot."

Xia Wan was taken aback by the elderly lady's sudden action but quickly regained her composure.

She smiled and said, "Then please take care of your health, grandmother."

Although Xia Wan found it a little strange that the elderly lady held her hand, she didn't pull away. After all, this elderly lady was so kind and made her feel unusually close.

Having lacked affection since she was young, Xia Wan couldn't bring herself to push away such a kind grandmother.

Curious as to how the elderly lady knew her name, Xia Wan sweetly asked, "Grandmother, how did you know my name?"

Grandmother Huo smiled and replied, "Because I'm very clever, Wanwan! Now, let me ask you something, may I ask some more personal questions?"

Though Xia Wan was unsure, she still nodded.

"Wanwan, what kind of person do you like?" Grandmother Huo asked.

Looking at the kind grandmother, Xia Wan didn't quite understand why she was asking this but still gave it some thought before answering obediently, "I like someone close to my age, so there won't be a big generation gap between us."

Hearing this, Grandmother Huo was startled.

According to her earlier investigation, Xia Wan was only 18 years old, while her precious grandson was already 25. The age gap was considerable!

She began to worry that Xia Wan might be bothered by the age difference.

No, she had to find out more, so she asked, "Apart from age, do you have any other requirements?"

Xia Wan thought seriously for a moment and then answered, "Well... I would like him to be gentle."

This was really bad!

Her grandson was anything but gentle. Grandmother Huo knew him very well—he was someone who could freeze the room with his cold demeanor.

As his grandmother, I've known him for so long, I feel like I'm about to freeze him into an ice cube.

Grandmother Huo, feeling a little insecure, asked hesitantly, "Hehe! Wanwan, would you mind if there was a slight age difference?"

Xia Wan thought for a moment and obediently replied, "Actually, two or three years isn't a problem, but he should be a bit handsome! I'm a little picky about looks. But the age difference shouldn't be too much, I'm afraid we won't have much to talk about, and it would be awkward if we're together."

Uh! Grandmother Huo didn't give up and continued to ask, "What if his personality is cold, like he doesn't talk much with you? Would you mind?"

Xia Wan thought about it, furrowing her brows, then shook her head and sweetly replied, "It's best not to be like that, I wouldn't be able to talk to him."

Grandmother Huo inwardly screamed, "What should I do? Ah! Ah! Ah!"

She never expected that these two questions would leave her stumped. It seemed like she would need to think of another way.

Grandmother Huo didn't give up, gently looking at Xia Wan: "Wanwan, what if he's just a little older? Would you mind?"

Xia Wan seriously thought about it and said softly, "Actually, I'm still worried we won't have much to talk about. Didn't they say a generation gap of three years is typical?"

Grandmother Huo fell into thought, muttering to herself: "A generation gap of three years… If Wanwan is with my lousy grandson, that's almost a three-generation gap! That's a big gap! Oh no, this is really a disaster!"

Her grandson was older, had a bad temper, and was particularly cold!

This is bad!

Her useless grandson didn't meet any of the requirements.

With this thought, the wrinkles on Grandmother Huo's face drooped even further.

Suddenly, she remembered her grandson's only redeeming quality, and a faint smile appeared on her troubled face.

Grandmother Huo looked at Xia Wan with loving eyes and whispered, "Wanwan, what if he's very handsome and charming? As for the age difference and personality issues, could we maybe overlook them?"

Xia Wan frowned slightly as she listened, and then asked in confusion, "When you say very handsome, do you mean extremely handsome?"

Grandmother Huo, with a smile on her face, nodded enthusiastically, "Of course! He's definitely a super handsome guy, and he mainly inherited my excellent genes."

Xia Wan, hearing about a handsome man, naturally felt a little pleased but still kept her composure and slowly said, "Well, I'm not too sure about that, I'd need to spend more time with him to get to know him better. Actually, a person's inner beauty is just as important."

Grandmother Huo was momentarily unsure of how to respond. She thought to herself:

"Inner beauty… Hmm, my grandson, when dealing with his competitors or those who've betrayed him, he can be ruthless. Does that count as inner beauty? Is that good or bad?"

She had initially planned to wait for the two of them to get married and gradually develop feelings over time. After all, people always say that love grows over time. However, looking at it now, this method didn't seem to work at all with her troublesome grandson!

The more Grandmother Huo looked at Xia Wan, the more she liked her. She was really adorable and well-behaved.

She was a perfect match for her troublesome grandson.

So, Grandmother Huo decided to make a bold move.

She thought to herself: "Wanwan, trust your grandmother, marry my grandson, and you'll never regret it."
