Chapter 901: The Luck Sovereign Clan - 901
Tentacles appeared, sharpening into swords as the first monster slashed down. At the same time, the first beast's antlers plunged into the ox's neck, causing blood to pour out. The ox's eyes opened wide and its mouth prepared for a roar, but as the first monster's tentacles cut into it like butter, it instantly fell. The only sound it made was of hitting the ground, which nobody would pay attention to.
The first monster and the first beast instantly continued with the plan by setting up a crime scene. When they were done, there were no traces they had been there, and a large arrow stuck out of the back of the beast lord.
Unless a member of the Karma Sovereign's clan were to investigate, it was unlikely that they would be traced. The arrow was not intended to simply cover it up, but send them on a wild goose chase for someone powerful enough to shoot such an arrow.
The injuries that actually killed the beast looked minor in comparison.
The first beast and the first monster ran away. A few days later, the corpse was discovered.
A few days after that, as they were walking outside of the mountain when they were helplessly dragged into a cavern. Inside was the same old man and the bone figure.
"Good job. You have earned your place as a true member of the resistance. It was a bit amateurish, but not bad at all. Before you do anything else, I'll teach you a technique of hiding even the traces of your karma, though it is impossible to completely hide anything from the power of Karma. Unless a higher up of the Karma Sovereign clan takes a personal interest, you should be able to hide from anything."
A few years passed as the old man personally guided the two in this art.
They quickly mastered it, and the old man sent them out.
Sage Years passed, and nobody ever came to suspect them in the death of the beast lord. But a new beast lord was very quickly added, making it seem as though their efforts were meaningless.
They grew stronger and stronger as time passed, and even got an occasional assassination mission from the old man. Rarely did it involve killing beings, and even rarer did it involve killing a beast lord.
They had successfully joined the resistance against the sovereigns.
Within the Wang clan, the first human was doing just as well, if not even better. He did not have to worry about being found out as someone who resented the sovereigns, as the ancestor of the Wang clan already knew.
He also had the support of the Wang clan, causing him to grow quickly. All three cultivated at similar speeds. After thousands and thousands of Sage Years, they entered the Universe Immortal realm.
This put them near the very peak of the Sovereign Tree, and some beings began to notice them.
The first human had become a High Elder of the Wang clan by marrying into the family after he stepped into the Universe Immortal realm.
The first beast had become a beast lord. He was among the strongest of them as well.
The first monster had an even greater opportunity, being invited to the domain of one of the Sovereign clans for a meeting.
This was a Sovereign clan he hadn't heard much about before.
The Sovereign clans represented Time, Death, Karma, Life, Space, and Luck.
He had been invited to the Luck Sovereign's clan. This was a unique Sovereign. The Luck Sovereign was the only known Sovereign to have created her own path. Although her race seemed similar to the Death Sovereign's race, they were actually very different.
Both races took the form of a colored mist, one black and one purple. It was just their inner workings that were completely different, and the power they practiced as well.
Nobody messed with the Luck Sovereign's clan. Few could prevail in front of a member of the Luck Sovereign clan, as luck would be working with the clan member and against the outsider.
The Luck Sovereign was also one of the only reasons that the Sovereign Tree had grown to such a powerful level. Most such groups would be devoured by a stronger group if they were showing too much potential, but the Sovereign Tree had been… lucky.
Now, of course, they could exist with or without the power of luck on their side.
With his power as a Universe Immortal, the first monster had been able to scrape this much information together.
He naturally did not reject the invitation. If he could even become a member of the Luck Sovereign clan, he would be able to cause countless times more harm to the Sovereign Tree.
His only worry was the fact that they may discover something. He could only do his best to leave nothing to chance. Only in that way could the power of luck be resisted.
The first monster headed towards a teleportation hub. After showing the invitation, he was taken to a special room with six teleportation arrays. It was guarded by someone at least equal in strength to the first monster. And the first monster could confidently fight against a Domain Immortal.
He was taken towards a purple array, and when he stepped on it, he instantly disappeared.
He reappeared in a world of purple. From the sky to the ground, everything was the same color. Beings made of some sort of gas walked around.
Although they did not have a fixed form most looked only a foot or two wide and around six or seven feet tall, kind of like a humanoid being, just without any resemblance to a human.
They all noticed him in an instant, but didn't pay him much attention. Anybody who dared to come here with bad intentions would quickly find themselves dead.
And they were not unlucky enough to be caught in the crossfire.
The first monster looked around, wondering where to go, when one of the creatures approached him.
