Chapter 1565: Don't Overthink It (11)
"These Baojin and Baoyin are really well-behaved," Aunt Xinghua teased the children as she entered the house. "They seem to know how hard your mother works to take care of the two of you, so they don't fuss at all. Makes me jealous…"
The two kids were named Li Baojin and Li Baoyin—names that sounded quite prosperous.
Yang Ruxin found them endearing as well. It was said that the two kids often lay on the kang and babbled to each other like they were chatting. Only when they were hungry or wet did they cry twice to alert the adults. So, after the confinement month ended and the family members left, Aunt Hehua hadn't fallen behind on her work at all—her hair flowers were finished faster than anyone else's.
"Let's hope they can stay this well-behaved forever," Wang Hehua said with a smile, putting down the hair flower in her hand. "Xinxin, you're finally back! We were so worried about you."
"Am I not perfectly fine?" Yang Ruxin walked over and sat down by the edge of the kang. "Where's Sister Xiaoxiang?"
"She went to her maternal family," Wang Hehua replied with a chuckle. "That girl is already of age and should be looking into matchmaking. My brother-in-law's family has a young man who's said to be good in all respects. So my mother took her over to meet him…"
"Did she go to meet him alone?" Yang Ruxin frowned.
"There are still two younger ones at home. We couldn't make a trip that far," Wang Hehua sighed. "But that girl thinks highly of you and sees you as a role model. She has her own plans. She said she wanted to meet him and interact first, and if things work out, then we can step in."
Yang Ruxin smiled. She wasn't surprised at all by Li Xiang's approach. She thought it was a good idea.
"Ah!" Zhao Xinghua sighed. "Xiaoxiang is off matchmaking, and my Tie Dan is already nineteen but still doesn't have a wife. If this keeps dragging on…"
Yang Ruxin smiled. "Aunt Xinghua, Brother Tie Dan is handsome and capable. He won't lack for a wife; it's just a matter of timing. Don't worry too much."
"That's easy to say, but how could I not worry? Kids his age are already fathers," Zhao Xinghua sighed again. "I had hoped we could settle this before Xiaoyu got married, but in the end…" She shook her head. "Last time, someone showed interest in him, and he at least nodded. But after that fell through, he won't agree to see anyone else. He keeps saying he wants to earn Silver first. You tell me, can Silver ever be fully earned? Life now is so much better than before, isn't it?"
Although Yang Ruxin had never been a mother, she used to look after and worry about the younger kids who worked with her, so she fully understood Aunt Xinghua's concerns.
"Every generation has its own path to follow," Liu Cuiyun comforted her. "You worrying yourself sick won't help anything."
Zhao Xinghua could only sigh again, trying to convince herself of this.
Yang Ruxin, on the other hand, felt that Liang Tie was likely to have someone in his heart, which was why he kept rejecting matchmakers. Otherwise, it didn't make sense. But she couldn't say it outright. She just thought to find an opportunity to ask him about it.
"Tian Jinhua came to my house yesterday—and she brought two pounds of pork," Wang Hehua interjected to change the topic. "She wanted her husband to join the transportation or construction crews and asked me to pull some strings with Xinxin. I refused right away. That kind of person doesn't deserve sympathy…"
"She used to look down on me and barely greeted me, but this morning she waved at me from afar—almost startled me," Liu Cuiyun added, shaking her head.
"How are Wang Baozhu and Ma Gouzi doing?" Yang Ruxin's thoughts turned to that unhappy couple upon hearing about Tian Jinhua.
