Chapter Eleven [ Silent witnesses]

While they search for the secret exit, the couples have been sailing by boat for over a week. The couples were busy packing their own things and waiting for their turn to depart as the enormous ship done unloading the large cargo trucks.

David and Daniele, on the other hand, opt to continue making preparations for the upcoming trip by remaining in their personal cabin. David used a road map to locate all of the secure areas in the rural and coastal areas where many fishermen used to travel for fishing.

In order to be with David and prevent any potential drifting apart, Daniele wants to be near to him."What if one of us got lost on this thrilling journey?” Daniele addresses David, who doesn't appear to get what Daniele is thinking.

Because they haven't spent much time together under one roof after being married for so long, David asks her with eyes filled with longing, as if he believes they are still on their honeymoon.

He had to travel in order to provide for her needs, and they even lost their first child as a result. He truly believed that Daniele was her favorite female before beginning seminary, and after leaving the priesthood, he never even looked for another lover because Daniele had been in his heart ever since they first met.

"I love you, wife. There's no more excuses for us to break up neither poverty nor disease until death do us part," David pledges to Daniele, who always has a few niggling doubts about the situation.

“We can still remain here while the ship is docked. We'll only leave when it will be traveling someplace else otherwise.”

"Come on, let's take these chances. They are still busy unloading downstairs," said David. Daniele is inquisitive.

” Why? Do you have any plans to initially apply for a job here so that we have enough money for our trip? “David started laughing loudly.

"You are such a smart woman. How could you figure out what I was thinking right now?” Danielle continues, "Of course naturally, we are one flesh already, and I can perceive your longings and desires regarding our needs and uncertainties.”

Daniele said, "I'll support you in all of your endeavors, honey. I'm also willing to face any hurdles and hardships as long as we are always together.”She continues as her eyes looking far away.

“What a lucky husband I am to have a wife like you.” David said as he put the map down and gently moved Daniele closer to him.

David tells his wife, "I genuinely love you," and gives her a soft kiss till they start to fall in love again. He whispers, pulling off all of their clothes until they are both naked, "We ought to have our baby right away."

"You're really sexy, I adore you, wife," David murmurs. "I admire your form, too."

David is thrilled and he laughs aloud at Daniele's quiet addition, "I love you David even though you don't have money.”

"Wife, I concur with what you said. You are genuinely exceptional.”

Without pausing, David speaks.

"What sets me apart from your previous roommates?” Daniele softly asks.

” What?” David queries.

David exclaimed, "You're here inside of me, and as our love grew, it penetrated my souls as well, and they once more became one flesh”. David said, "Honey, you're not merely my bedmate, you're my legal wife whom I treasure."

David and Daniele became the silent observers of how the ship's crew handled the entire region after a few hours of examining the area. The crews started making noises and giving alarms that the passengers might gradually leave the area for their own destination.

As David helps Daniele pack their belongings neatly into the suitcase, he says, "Honey, come with me and we'll talk to the administrator so we can get new information." She has to change into fresh clothes and give David new fresh t-shirts after they both wash in the small sink provided for private passengers.

“Maybe you paid more for this private area?” Danielle asks him a question.

“Of course, I want both of us to relax and take pleasure in our excursions,” David said chuckles.

“Now that David has suffered,” Daniele says, "we don't have enough money again. I likes to offer him comfort after discovering that he works hard to provide me with comforts as well.”

While keeping an eye on the surroundings, she added in private so that no one could hear. "I can apply to work here as a dishwasher, timekeeper, cleaner, or food attendant. Do I?”

“Okay, I assist you discover jobs too.”David murmurs ,”You started again honey!” As she describes duties she can temporarily perform, his eyes grow wary.

“I don't like you to be a strenuous wife, but if that's what you want so we can afford to keep traveling, why not?” They've previously had conflicts when she was bored and had nothing to do. She was complaining and unhappy. David seems reluctant to accept Daniele's proposals, but he can't stand the concept that she needs to be active to avoid boredom.

David says, "I want you to enjoy using your skills and abilities and be happy.” Danielle smiles, her eyes glistening once more.

Few minutes later, a boy is selling foods to eat, so he’s outside the counter cries, "Drinks, peanuts, sweets."

“Hey, how much are your peanuts? “David says, "I sell it P100 for three pieces," the youngster responds as he hands it to him and receives payment from David.

“How are you able to sell those items here? Is it not against the law for a vendor to sell here? “David queries.

The young lad continued, "No. You just ask permission from the management and we can help them as well to watches peace and order as life goes on here.”

"Where do the managers reside?” The youngster motions for David to follow him as he continues to ask questions. The pair obtained information that will aid them in determining what to do next as they experience scarcity.

The grassy young boy ran quickly to hide from the chubby middle-aged man who emerged from the diner as he suddenly came running towards them carrying a fresh, gorgeous pouch.

"Come on, quit! You give me back the bag, please!” He shouted so loudly that it woke up the management who were snoozing on the surrounding benches.

"What's going on? “The manager yelled as David quickly grabbed the lad holding the golden purse that was filled to the brim with cash.

The youngster practically cries to David, "Let me go. This pouch belongs to me. I work hard to get it."

As the pair gently hide the youngster from the chubby man who appears to have mistreated him, David mutters, "Hey, let's settle this situation, Be calm. I will not let you be handled by them."

David inquires, "Where do you obtain that pouch."

The child admits, "I grab it from the woman who is getting off the ship. She doesn't realize that I got it from her suitcase.”

"Aren't you aware that if the police catch you stealing the passengers, you could be sentenced to jail?” As he handed Daniele the pouch, David gave an explanation.

David told the child to follow his instructions, and they gently left the roof top to hunt for the woman who possessed the pouch. "Let's return it to the woman before the cops catch you," David said as they all searches for the woman outside.

The woman thanks David as the robber slowly flees. "Thank you for your aid. I needed it for my transportation. This is the only money I have so that I may reach my home."

” Wait! “As Daniele assists David in stopping the thief, David adds, "I intended to talk to you after her.”

David smiles as he addresses the thief, "I wanted to know where do you stay and we bring you home.”

The woman turned away from them and continued on her journey. David is approached by the manager and a chubby man.

"What's going on? "David is questioned.

David responded, "Nonsense.” “That youngster is our adopted child, and he helps us clean the ship by working inside.” They said as David is grinning.

“We are in severe need of employment. Do you have any openings inside? “David asks.

The manager stated, "We merely have some part-time jobs for emergency."

"Okay, we'll take it! We're interested in working and joining your workforce.” David continues to ask questions before grabbing the young boy who was close and telling him to resolve conflicts with the chubby man behind the counter.

David waits next to Daniele while he waits for his time to find his employment position while the ship is still docked. Daniele introduces herself as a team member and decides to start working on the counter table to serve meals for the clients.

David is with the small child playing on the roof top at the time when the chief captain and the engineering staff emerge out of nowhere to eat. Daniele is on duty to serve meals. The ship captain is instantly drawn to Daniele's physical appearance and grins at her.

He started showing interest to her in the service counter despite being unaware of the ship captain's promiscuous behavior.

“ Who are you, young lady?” The ship's captain questions Daniele, who has a black cap covering her hair and a face mask over her face, giving her a boyish appearance. Daniele responds in a macho voice.

She swiftly says, "I'm Daniel Sir.”

“Are you here?"

“Yes, Sir.” Daniele responds, turning to face them with the supper they had requested.

Daniel expresses, "Sorry Sir, but I'm not available anymore. I have a family already." Daniele instantly clarifies as David approaches with the small child playing ball. “Are you going to eat now, honey?” He says,

"If you merely act like a pretty, gorgeous girl, I will court you."

Captain murmurs as he left them.

Unaware that the ship's captain was complimenting his wife, David responds, "Later, I want us to eat together. I'll wait until you are free." Danielle signals to David that the ship's captain and engineers are seated at the table.

“I’m David at your disposal. Is there anything I can do for you this evening, sir?” David says, "I'm at your emergency helper here. I'm trying to get along with you guys so I can get a better regular position in that passenger ship.”

“Actually, my assistant is currently on leave, so I'm seeking for a replacement. Perhaps you need to have proper training before joining me.” The master of the ship speculates about David's talents.

“Actually, I was a professor of biology and a marine biologist in Europe ten years ago, before I got married to my wife. “David introduces himself and looks at Daniele at the food counter. The ship captain also looks at Daniele and immediately understands what David is saying because they are a couple working on his ship.

The management continues, "We are an international passenger ship, but we frequently dock locally when the weather appears unfavorable. We just stand by her to wait for perfect favorable time to move on.”

“Then my wife and I would like to work for you with this young youngster. Can we be hired? “David enquires.

The manager instructed as the crew handled him some application paperwork so that they could immediately start on duty, "Yes, but our compensation is not that high. The job is not heavy. It's just during emergency that you have to do an inventory to organize our places so that our passenger will be comfortable to rest while on the journey.”

David grins and says to Daniele, who has listened and agreed to everything, "Great, thank you. We'll do our best to be able to support you in all things to make your ship well organized and our services to our clients be in fantastic.”

Danielle and David get up early and are well-dressed the next morning. The crew promptly gives them uniforms so that they can be easily identified as members of the ship team. The ship's captain and a seductive woman wearing a red backless top and miniskirts come to Danielle's food station to order hot coffee and toast with butter.

The captain of the ship recognizes the woman in the red blouse's wish for David to show her interest as she directs her attention to him. While Daniele is making the hot coffee and bread with butter that the ship's captain had ordered, David serves her the breakfast she had ordered. Following them, the engineers also place their breakfast order. David hurries to aid Daniele with her chores since he can no longer take it. The management commends the couple for their efforts in giving the customer great service, gives them the thumbs-up, and then adjourns to handle other responsibilities on board the ship.
