The Extra’s POV : I can only use Dash

"Someone, tell me I'm dreaming…" 

"What's wrong, Sugil? You don't like having me here?" 

Sae-jin said, lying casually on one of the two beds, arms resting behind his head. 

I ran a hand down my face, overwhelmed by the situation. 

This isn't normal. Lim was supposed to be here and become friends with Sae-jin

'Is this the system's doing?'

'That's the only possible explanation…' 

'Well, whatever. I'm tired of thinking all day. Lim and Sae-jin will talk at some point anyway…'

'At least, I hope so…'

I let out a sigh and settled onto the other bed. Since it was only my second day at the academy, I hadn't needed to attend the entrance ceremony. The old Kim Sugil had probably already placed his belongings here. 

"Sae-jin, you don't have to answer, but… why didn't you attend the entrance ceremony yesterday?" 

I asked, even though I already knew the answer. 

"Ah… uh… I was sick." 

'Liar.' 

The real reason was simple: Sae-jin had a habit of venturing into the Towers to gain experience. On the day of the ceremony, he hadn't shown up because he'd gone to explore one. 

But in the end, it worked out for him. While inside the Tower, he had come across the remains of a dragon, an extremely rare rank [S] monster found in the first twenty floors. 

The item he obtained from its corpse was an [Eye of the Dragon], a rank [S] relic. 

This relic permanently doubled the experience gained by its user. 

It was also thanks to this artifact that Sae-jin had become so powerful. 

I nodded without pressing further and changed into my nightwear. 

Outside, the sky was already dark. Only a few lights from the academy and our room served as beacons in the gloom. 

I took off my glasses and placed them on the nightstand beside me before lying down. To my right, Sae-jin stared at the ceiling, his expression unreadable. 

"Sugil, do you know what classes we have tomorrow?" 

"Hmm… Probably a physical training session and a magic course." 

"Speaking of magic… What kind do you use?" 

"Hem…" 

'Besides Dash, what other spells could Sugil use?' 

'In the novel, he was never seen using anything other than Dash, but he must have learned some basic spells, right…?' 

"Well, I can at least say that I have Dash and… probably some standard spells?" 

"Dash… The rank C ability?" 

"Yeah." 

I heard Sae-jin chuckle slightly. 

"I know, it's kind of useless…" 

"Maybe. But a skill's worth is only as good as its user." 

"Thanks for the advice. You really sound like an expert." 

We both laughed and kept talking for a while until Sae-jin eventually drifted off to sleep. 

While he slept peacefully, I was doing one last check on the System, making sure I had seen everything. 

'Alright… This should be everything there is to check…'

"Okay, I think that's all. I've gone through everything, and there's nothing new…" 

But a small symbol caught my eye just as I was about to close the system window.

'EX'… What is that…?'

I tapped on it and—

"What the hell is this?!" 

At that exact moment, my phone started vibrating violently.
