The Extra’s POV : I can only use Dash

Chapter 12: Kim Sae-jin

After class, I left the room as fast as possible to avoid any confrontation with Yeon-seo.

Through the crowded school hallways, I tried to slip between the masses of students, desperate to get out of this place.

'Great. I've ended my first day by attracting the attention of both the protagonist and the first villain…'

As I maneuvered through the crowd, I suddenly felt a hand grab my shoulder from behind.

Convinced that it was Yeon-seo catching up to me, I was ready to apologize—or, in the worst-case scenario, use Dash to escape.

"Wait, Yeo—!"

"Sugil, you're in such a hurry! Couldn't you have waited for me?"

I had panicked for nothing. The person calling out to me was just Kim Sae-jin.

"…Ha… Sae-jin, it's you…"

I glanced around to see if Yeon-seo was anywhere nearby, but it seemed that Sae-jin was the only one who had caught up to me.

"And… where's your friend Sun Daehyun?"

"Daehyun? She probably went home on her own since her mansion is just a 20-minute drive from here."

"I see…"

"Hey, how about we head back to the dorm together?"

"Hmm…"

I hesitated a bit at first. Honestly, I was wary—Sae-jin, in the original novel, rarely spoke to the real Sugil, and their conversations were limited to class-related topics.

Yet, strangely, he was getting close to me very quickly…

"Alright, if you want to."

I couldn't refuse—it would be rude otherwise.

"Awesome!"

Sae-jin replied enthusiastically.

.

.

.

'What the hell is going on?'

'Why is everyone staring at us?!!'

All the students in the school had their eyes on us—or more precisely, on Sae-jin.

Of course, this morning's incident wasn't going to be forgotten in just one day. In the novel, it was also mentioned that all the students had suspicions about Sae-jin.

Still, that didn't change the fact that this moment was incredibly awkward in real-time—

"Hey, Sae-jin…"

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Everyone's whispering behind our backs… Is it because of what happened this morning?"

"…"

"Yeah. Rumors spread fast, and they're probably just curious."

'It's true that Sae-jin is an intriguing guy. Even after reading over 2,000 chapters about his adventures, it's hard to read his thoughts or fully understand him.'

'That's normal, though. After all, he's the most powerful character, overflowing with talent—the ultimate badass MC who defeats enemies in a single blow, if you want an example.'

But this immense power, this gap between him and the other characters, led him into deep solitude…

And then… there was the incident of the 50th Tower, an event that left an irreversible scar on Sae-jin's life:

A [Catastrophe]-level monster—

[The Prince of Death]

A creature with white wings and a stone-like body, wrapped in black veils.

It emerged from the tower without warning, ravaging an entire quarter of the city. Even a thousand A-rank Rankers stood no chance against it—the Prince of Death tore through them one by one, just like the civilians.

Among the corpses lay Sae-jin's family. Only he was spared when, for some unknown reason, the monster decided to leave.

Sae-jin was placed under the care of his grandparents, but from that day forward, he swore to kill [The Prince of Death]

'Yep, pretty tragic backstory for a protagonist, huh?'

And later, it's revealed that [The Prince of Death] was merely a subordinate executing the orders of the administrator of [The 50th Tower].

And now, the system expects me to fight bastards even stronger than that?

'What kind of lunatic…'

'The Outer Gods… who are they, and what level of power do they possess? Are they above the administrators? Most likely, but by how much?'

'Could the current Sae-jin from the novel defeat them?'

"Hey, Sugil, what are you thinking about?"

"Ah… nothing."

"You sure? You hide a lot of things."

"Huh?"

"But I'll figure out your secrets eventually. You intrigue me."

"…Like everyone else does, I suppose."

"Yeah, but your secrets are… special."

"Oh, I almost forgot—what's your dorm room number? Mine's 456."

'Oh yeah, we were given keys to our rooms earlier…'

"Hold on, let me check…"

'Normally, we shouldn't be in the same room since he's supposed to share his with Lim Astread…'

I rummaged through my bag and pulled out my key…

[Room 456]

"…"

"Awesome! We're roommates!"

'If anyone dares to call this fate…'
