"Really? That's wonderful! I knew Sui treats me well," Alice exclaimed happily as she hugged Sui's arm. She then stuck her tongue out playfully at Erina, clearly trying to provoke her.
Erina's forehead veins twitched with anger.
"Alice, stay and keep Erina-chan company for a while longer. I'll be heading out now," said Leonora with a smile.
"What? Auntie, you're leaving already? Why not stay and try some of my cooking before you go?" Erina asked, trying to persuade her aunt to stay.
"Oh, I'd love to, but I've already eaten plenty at Sui's restaurant earlier," Leonora replied with a bit of embarrassment.
"Well, alright," Erina sighed, realizing there was no convincing her aunt. She reluctantly saw Leonora off.
Soon, the dishes Erina had carefully prepared were served.
The meal began with a cream of celery soup, followed by pumpkin soup. The side dish was cheese-baked seafood rice, while the main course featured pan-seared foie gras and black pepper steak. A cabbage and green mango salad served as the vegetable, with cupcakes for dessert, and fruit to finish. Since Sui and the others couldn't drink alcohol, Erina had thoughtfully prepared juice instead.
Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing Erina's skill and attention to detail. The presentation was exquisite, and the flavors were remarkable.
"As expected of Miss Erina! This is absolutely delicious!" Megumi exclaimed, thrilled at the rare chance to enjoy such a luxurious French meal, prepared by none other than the legendary "God's Tongue."
However, Megumi soon felt discouraged, realizing just how far behind she was compared to Erina.
"Erina's cooking is truly exceptional," Rindō said with a smile, thoroughly enjoying her meal.
Sui couldn't help but glance at Rindo's flat, slender stomach, feeling amazed. 'Rindō-senpai really is a natural foodie,' he thought. 'Not everyone has such an appetite.'
"Hey, what's with that look? Are you judging me?" Rindo pouted, clearly noticing Sui's expression. She gave him a playful kick under the table.
Sui sighed, "No, no, I was just thinking how impressive your appetite is, Rindō-senpai."
"Of course!" Rindo's golden eyes gleamed with pride as she revealed her small, sharp canines. "My dream is to eat all the world's delicacies! How could I do that without a hearty appetite?"
"Sui, I want a bite of this!" Alice called out, tugging on Sui's arm.
Sui had no choice but to cut a small piece of foie gras and offer it to her. Alice took the bite eagerly, licking her lips.
"Hmm, it's alright, I guess. If it were me, I'd make it even better," she said, teasingly.
She tugged on his arm again. "I want to try that next!"
Sui, a little exasperated, cut a piece of steak and fed it to her.
Meanwhile, Erina, who was watching the entire scene from the side, was seething with anger.
'How infuriating!' she thought. She had prepared this entire meal for Sui, yet Alice kept hogging his attention and was even eating off his fork!
What made it worse was that every time Alice tasted something, she would claim she could make it better.
'How shameless!' Erina fumed.
"Erina-sama, please don't be upset!" Hisako quickly tried to calm her down.
By the time Sui and the others finished their meal, it was nearly closing time for Erina's restaurant.
"Kohai, I'll be heading out now! I'm looking forward to tomorrow's theme ingredients," Rindo said with a wave, her usual cool demeanor on display.
"We should head back too. Thank you for the wonderful dinner, Miss Erina," Megumi said politely, bowing to express her gratitude.
"I guess I'll be going as well," Alice added with a giggle. "Mom's waiting for me."
"Alright. Take care," Sui nodded.
Soon, only Sui, Erina, and Hisako were left in the restaurant.
After tidying up, they all prepared to leave.
While the area around the mountain grew quiet, other parts of the campus remained lively. Various research societies were still running their stalls, and many visitors were out enjoying late-night snacks before heading home.
"I heard the restaurant with the highest sales in the Linshan area today was that new transfer student's," one student remarked as they passed by.
"Yeah, I heard that too. Even though they're only open in the evening, they still made the most sales, even beating out Akanegakubo-senpai's dessert shop."
"They say the entry fee is 100,000 yen per person. With just a few dozen customers, that's already millions."
"Really? People are willing to pay that much?"
"Of course. Even big names in the food industry like the Sendawara Sisters stopped by, and graduates like Hinako-senpai and Mizuhara-senpai were there too. Even the commander-in-chief visited."
"That's incredible!"
As Sui, Erina, and Hisako walked along, they overheard various students discussing the success of Sui's restaurant. It had quickly become the most talked-about venue at the school festival.
After a while, Hisako turned to say goodbye. "Well, Sui-kun, Erina-sama, I'll head back now."
"Wait, Hisako, aren't you going to take me back to the mansion?" Erina asked, surprised. Normally, Hisako always accompanied her until the end.
Hisako smiled slyly and glanced at Sui. "I think I'll pass this time. I don't want to be a third wheel."
Erina immediately blushed. "Be careful on your way back. The school's open to the public, so there are a lot of strangers around. Watch out for any... suspicious people."
After Hisako left, only Sui and Erina remained on the road.
They walked in silence for a while until Erina suddenly squatted down and rubbed her feet.
"Are you tired?" Sui asked.
"Yeah," Erina nodded.
"Here, I'll carry you," Sui said with a smile, turning his back to her and squatting down.
"Wh-what?" Erina's cheeks flushed bright red in embarrassment.
