The Devil’s Destiny

Chapter 8: Another Encounter With Destiny

Joseph, Alex, and Treasure strolled down the road, chatting and laughing. But as they walked, Joseph's mind began to wander.

He thought about the mysterious woman he had met earlier that day, Destiny.

Alex and Treasure noticed the distant look in Joseph's eyes. Bro, what's on your mind?" Alex asked, nudging Joseph playfully.

Joseph didn't respond. He just kept walking, lost in thought.

Treasure and Alex exchanged a knowing glance. Dude, you're thinking about a girl, aren't you?" Treasure teased.

Joseph's eyes snapped back into focus. He smiled sheepishly.

I wish to see her again," he whispered, not realizing his friends were listening.

Treasure and Alex pounced on Joseph's words. "Whoa, bro, you're wishing to see her again?" Treasure asked, grinning mischievously.

Joseph's face turned bright red. Shut up, guys. There's no one," he protested.

But Treasure and Alex wouldn't let up. They teased Joseph mercilessly, trying to get him to spill the beans about the mysterious woman.

Just as Joseph was starting to get frustrated, he saw a familiar figure in the distance. It was Destiny, the woman he had met earlier that day.

But something was wrong. Destiny was surrounded by a group of drunk men, who were harassing her and trying to get her to go with them.

Joseph's instincts kicked in. He felt a surge of anger and protectiveness towards Destiny.

Why wasn't she fighting back? Why was she just standing there, looking scared and helpless?

Without thinking, Joseph strode over to the group, his heart pounding in his chest. "Leave her alone," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

The drunk men turned to face Joseph, their eyes bleary and aggressive. But Joseph stood his ground, his fists clenched and ready.

Destiny looked up at Joseph, her eyes wide with surprise and gratitude. Thank you," she whispered.

Joseph's heart skipped a beat. He felt a rush of emotion, a mix of anger, protectiveness, and attraction.

The drunk men, realizing they were outmatched, backed off and slunk away into the night.

Joseph turned to Destiny, his eyes locked on hers. Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.

Destiny nodded, still looking up at Joseph with a mixture of gratitude and admiration.

Joseph felt his heart flutter. He knew he had to make a move, to take a chance and see where things would go with Destiny.

But for now, he just stood there, frozen in time, his eyes locked with hers.

As Joseph and Destiny stood there, frozen in time, Treasure and Alex suddenly appeared, grinning mischievously.

"Whoa, guys, what's going on here?" Treasure asked, his eyes scanning the scene.

Joseph's face turned bright red with embarrassment, frustration, and anger. Shut up, guys, he hissed, trying to silence his friends.

But Treasure and Alex were relentless. They teased Joseph mercilessly, trying to get a rise out of him.

Destiny, hearing their banter, turned bright red with embarrassment. Her face was flushed, and she looked like a tomato.

Joseph was surprised to see her reaction, but he couldn't help but think it was cute.

Finally, Treasure and Alex introduced themselves to Destiny. "

Hey, I'm Treasure, and this is Alex," Treasure said, grinning. "We're Joseph's best friends."

Joseph rolled his eyes. "Destiny, meet Treasure and Alex. They're the craziest, most annoying friends you'll ever meet."

Destiny smiled politely, still looking a bit flustered.

After the introductions, Treasure and Alex gave each other a knowing look.

Joseph, we're going to head out," Alex said. "We'll let you escort the princess home."

Joseph's eyes widened in protest. No, guys, don't go. I don't know how I'll..."

But Treasure and Alex were insistent. "We're outta here, Joseph, Treasure said, clapping Joseph on the back. "You've got this."

With that, Treasure and Alex turned and walked away, leaving Joseph and Destiny alone.

Joseph turned to Destiny, feeling a bit awkward. I guess I'll walk you home," he said, trying to sound suave.

Destiny smiled, still looking a bit shy. "That would be nice," she said.

Joseph smiled back, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness.
