The Conquerors Path

Chapter 885 Chapter 883-An Innocent Personality.

Chapter 885  Chapter 883-An Innocent Personality.

My words made the whole atmosphere a bit awkward, causing the smile on the face of Eleanara to become a bit twisted because even she knows the whole situation isn't normal at all. After all, they have indeed made such a huge fuss over a small matter—that is if one looks at it from the normal central point of view. To those who don't know, Nathalia is the most important treasure of the dwarven legacy.

A small smile came to the mysterious face as I watched Eleanara speak.

"Your skills at deductions are something I am coming to admire, young man, but even then, if you knew about this, why play all this charade?"

Her words had a calming effect, to which I made a wry smile as I responded.

"It's because I wasn't sure about my hypothesis. I mean, would you believe that such a powerful place would go through so much hard work and treat me like that before, due to something as small as that? What I had were suspicions—I didn't have proof to back it up. In fact, I have major suspicions that perhaps it might have been something else."

At my words, the two women could only sit at the truth of my words. I mean, everything I had said was the truth, the inner concepts of it all being a bit too much from any other point of view. Eleanor took a sip of her drink, clearing her throat as she spoke.

"So you know that Nathalia seemingly has some feelings for you?"

I didn't reply to that, taking a sip of my tea, enjoying the taste of it in my mouth as I replied.

"I have some doubts about it. I got to know that Nathalia isn't very reactive to men, and she seems a bit unnaturally attached to me. It didn't take long for me to understand her emotions..."

Eleanara's eyes narrowed at my words, her expression not looking all that good as she spoke.

"So you kept acting like you didn't notice it? Were you planning on playing around with her emotions?"

I shook my head at her words, my body language being one of exasperation as I replied.

"Nathalia is a wonderful woman, but she was introduced to me as one of my sister's friends. I liked her cute and shy appearance, making her feel more like a little sister to me. I am not shitty enough to do something like that to my sister's friend."

My words defused the situation that was building up, making the atmosphere more welcoming as I continued.

"I imagined that her emotions for me would either sizzle out or wouldn't grow any stronger. Even above how I see her, you all must be aware of the situation I lay in—romance is at the bottom of my list. There are several other things I have greater importance for."

'Like seducing you.'

Keeping those thoughts to myself, I kept my expression normal as I took a sip of the tea, my words making Eleanara thoughtful as she kept quiet. The information I gave perhaps opened up different avenues for how the whole situation can perhaps be dealt with. Now I gave her everything she needs—now it would depend on how she will use this info.

As the comfortable silence fell between the two of us, my mind played at all the data I collected about Eleanara. She had quite a plightful life if one thinks about it. She first lost to Valdris, and then she, in a sense, had lost to the mother of Nathalia, for Eleanara knows in depth that the king had loved Nathalia's mother more and sincerely than she did to me.

She accepted that and lived like this. Perhaps the one thing Eleanara really wants in life is to be the first, to win over Valdris, and to truly be treated as the number one choice—to be treated as if she is better than others and that she isn't some second-hand option that has to be chosen just because the others lost.

I watched with a hidden gaze the movements of Eleanara. After her thought process, she finally started to speak.

"Does that mean you plan on rejecting the confession of Nathalia if she does so?"

I slowly nodded my head at her words, which made a wry smile come to Eleanara's face, to which I spoke.

"Now you know why I felt that all of this was quite stupid. And this much pressure and hue for something I didn't even plan on taking—it just feels a lot like a joke."

Eleanara couldn't deny my words as they held the truth, though they didn't cover over her eyes for long as she suddenly asked.

"You must know how special Nathalia is, right?"

I didn't react directly to those words, my expression kept itself on Eleanor for a moment after which I smiled as I replied.

"I might have a keen idea."

This made Eleanara nod her head as she asked.

"Knowing that, you are willing to push such treasure away from your hands?"

I didn't reply directly to it, my gaze focusing on the teacup at the table, my hand running over it for a moment after which I took it to take a sip. Placing it back at her, I made the impression of someone who was in deep thought for my reply. So, after the moment taken to think, I replied.

"I won't lie, I have thought about such a situation, but it's not something I will do. Taking out the fact that it's not something of my personality, there is the fact that Nathalia is not someone who deserves something like this. I have come to care for her."

My words made the eyes of Eleanara sparkle, her gaze holding a certain level of apprehension to it as she looked at me now, a small smile coming to her face as she spoke.

"That's quite the nice personality."

I smiled at it as I replied.

"It's something that I have grown to understand. The truth of it is that I don't want to live like that. I want a life that I live without succumbing myself to that level of darkness. The life I want, the future I want to live in, has no place for such disgusting actions or manipulations. The path I walk will be one that will bless the ones that walked with me."

A charming smile came to my face at the end of my answers, and as I spoke, the innocent aura that I always have burst forth, making me look like the most holy and innocent one there is. My senses picked up my actions affecting the two women very well. Even if they don't show any expression to it, their affection speaks another thing.

+Affection 100!

+Affection 100!

I smiled as I took in the notification, my gaze holding towards that of Eleanara's, who seemed to find my personality something out of fantasies—something which she can't seem to believe. It's the same for that maid Silva of hers, which gives me the situation to speak what I want to speak. Of course, in normal situations, my words would be just the rambling of someone.

But this is no normal situation. Right now, I sit in a room well-dedicated to Eleanara's, which means this room is hidden with several other functions, all of them serving the well-being of others. And one of those functions was the ability to detect lies, and right now, Eleanara was using that ability on me.

There is a reason why I am taking my time and saying such things. The more 'truthful' the words I say, the more surprised this woman will become—the fact that such a pure personality even exists is something too hard for even her to take. Of course, even in this, I am using my strength to twist my truth to what should not be taken.

The device is quite a nice one. Within this whole room, it's scanning my body, understanding my blood pressure, measuring my heartbeats, measuring my mana flow—its smoothness, any changes in it—my eye blinking rate, to even my body language. The room does a whole scan of it, which comes together to see if I am lying or not.

Quite the extensive scanning, if I say so myself. The one thing it's scanning is most of the movements and systems in the body that are not able to be controlled by any being, which shows towards the truth of what one is saying. And the info of whether I am telling the truth or not will fall into the ring on her hand, which will inform her. And now I am using that to my advantage.

A small wry smile came to my face as I saw the expression of Eleanara and the hidden maid behind her.

"I probably look very naive to you, don't I? Such wording and will at this time of the world, where corruption and greed over the world..."

Eleanara kept her silence, but that silence spoke a lot.
