Chapter 884: Chapter 882-The Talk.
Austin's POV:
My gaze remained calm as I walked behind the maid, Silva. She walked with the poise and control of a well-mannered and extensively trained maid. As I reached the door leading to the room of the Queen, I understood all the technicalities of everything inside the room within a single moment.
My main attention, though, was on the maid Silva. The fact is that the maid in question is very close to Elenara and extremely loyal to the queen. She was raised and followed around Elenara and trained by the faction Elenara's family belonged to. Thus, with a thud, the door to the room opened as I walked in.
My gaze first landed on the regal and elegant queen sitting on one of the chairs, I gave her a light nod as I walked into the room towards her, the queen looking at me with a soft smile on her face as she spoke.
"You are looking quite well, it's good to see that there is no everlasting issue with you."
Nodding my head at her words I took a seat as I replied.
"Well, the treatment you guys gave me helped."
My reply did not shake off the queen as she kept her smile, my words itself posing towards several issues at once as I took a comfortable seat as I did so the maid Silva moved with poised understanding as she started to prepare some tea, for a moment a comfortable silence falling within the room as Silva poured the tea.
"Have a taste, Silva makes quite the exquisite drinks."
I not replying to it, took up the glass and I took a sip, a calming yet firm taste filling my mouth as I took the sip after which I replied.
"It's one of the best I have tasted."
My words had a light energy to the room as I after one more sip placed the cup back on the table, my gaze coming to hold that of Elenara's as my gaze then moved towards Silva, after which it focused back on the queen as I replied.
"Is it safe to speak openly here?"
My words made Elenara's eyes narrow up as she replied.
"It's a safe room."
I smiled at her words I turned back into silence, a minute of calm falling between us as if I was evaluating the person in front of me, which would be quite if not very disrespectful in its own way but I kept the focus up as I after that minute of eye watching started to speak.
"I didn't quite not like the meeting we had before and I still haven't got the reason for why I was pulled into this place at all."
My words received a nod from Elenara as she replied.
"If that's all you want to know, you could have gone directly to the king or towards Lady Valdris, yet why come to me for the answers?"
Her words held a soft call to them as I started to speak after a nod.
"From the moment I entered the room, I noticed the fact that the king and the prince seem to hold something against me, their attitude hinting at a certain preconceived notion of not wanting to be of much help to me......"
As I said this I took a pause, my gaze catching hers and then moving towards Silva after which I focused back on the queen.
"Now in that room, the only one I felt who was more comfortable, calm and controlled was you, one that didn't seem to want to jump at me at the moment, a link in the room that I felt would be the best to deal with face to face and finish the issue all at once."
My words were straightforward and filled with conviction which directly hit at all the points at Elenara whose smile stayed the same but I detected a small rise in it as she asked.
"While I can account for the fact of my husband and my son, you seemingly left out lady Valdris, while she might be cold outwardly, she is very proficient in dealing with the case, she should have dealt with you easily in any case."
At the mention of Valdris, my expression turned weird for a moment, I concealed it soon but I made sure that both Silva and Elenara caught onto the expression, to them and anybody else it would just look like a sudden mishap from the young man.
"Ahh......I know that but I do find Lady Valdris a bit too cold and closed off, she just said some punctual words and left without giving much up, it would seem she didn't want to deal with me much."
As I said so for a single moment I let a slip off my body language, enough for the two watching women in front of me to catch it, just giving the small subtle hints would be more than enough for them to catch and latch onto this, trying to milk the most from the situation and find what the hell would have taken place between me and Valdris.
"You seem to find Lady Valdris quite tough, and it's expected but I have to say, your observation skills are very high."
As Elenara spoke of this, she took a sip of her tea her gaze though landed on me for a single moment after which she focused on the tea, her words just getting a small smile from me as I leaned against the chair, I had said my piece, now it's all left to the hand of how the queen will be dealing with things forward.
A moment after her sip Elenara placed the cup back on the table, her royal presence still filling the huge vast and very well-decorated room as she asked.
"So you want to know why you were called, right?"
I nodded at that to which a thoughtful look came to Elenara's face after which she replied.
"I can't provide the answers to you for that just yet, the details to that would have to be discussed before which I can answer."
I showed no particular expression on it, just a small nod at it as I replied.
"I see..."
The expression remained as such after which looking at the face of Elenara I spoke.
"I understand the fact that whatever the issue is, it's extremely important enough that all of you from your busy schedule took time off to see me, which points to the fact that it has a very large-scale effort..."
As I said this my hands went towards the cup, my hands shifting around its edges as I took a sip after which I started to speak.
"The arrangement and secrecy point at the fact that it's important enough to be kept secret and what leads after that is the gathering, all of you hold powers but the arrangement points at something else, it points to the fact that whatever this important thing is, it's personal, it's............family."
At that last mention of mine I could see the eyes of Elenara light up for a moment, a small spark in her of course, in the information that I bought, the fine thing on it was that it mentioned all her likes and dislikes, likes especially about what kind of men attract her gaze or keep her attention, ones smart, ones that are deductive always seem to keep her keen focus. "I have no such connection to this place which would mean, the issue would have to be connected to me no doubt, so the overall issue would come down to be extremely important, secretive and personal, I had time to think when things add up like this, only one such connection like that exists for me, it would be princess Nathalia..."
At these words a stunning silence fell the place, even if they didn't show it I could see the fact that the two women were very impressed with what I had deduced from a single meeting and the whole situation, Elenara's lips even formed a very rare impressed smile as she spoke. "Impressive but what made you pick out the possibility of the fact that perhaps it wouldn't be about young lady Krisly."
I chuckled at those words as I replied.
"I did doubt that, yes but the arrangement of the ones that had come together didn't match, if that were the situation I wouldn't have seen all of you, which points to only that one fact, else it would be that all of you were that petty that I beat up Krisly."
My words had their sense and once again painted their impression, now I had the focus of the two, which meant I placed the impression I wanted to as such, the only thing left was the motive for all of this as such, trying to maintain her smile Elenara asked.
"So have you also deduced the reason for it all?"
I smiled at her words, myself taking a sip of the tea as I replied.
"If it was before, I wouldn't have understood why all of you were going to such lengths but now I have a deeper understanding of why, it's funny that you all would bring a guy here and make him go through all that for the suspected reason that your princess might like him, a very stubborn push I might say."
