Chapter 411: Altar
Silvester first looked around the city and, not seeing Shelley, felt a bit confused.
Considering the cave magic surge, Shelley should have been on the city wall defending the citizens and repelling the creatures from the cave, right?
But soon, Silvester sensed the familiar fluctuations of Frost Power coming from the distant farmland.
Swoosh!
He flew rapidly toward that familiar power.
...
Swoosh!
Shelley was slightly closing her eyes, focusing on channeling the Frost Power within her body, striving to freeze the surrounding grey and black spores.
Her complexion became somewhat translucent due to the severe depletion of energy.
Thump!
Colin was also slightly gasping for air, one hand controlling the flames to scorch the mushrooms in front of him, while the other hand grabbed the Demon Release Ring to replenish Magic Power. The consecutive battles had left him with barely any Magic Power.
It was at this moment that he suddenly noticed something amiss and instinctively turned around.
"Instructor!"
However, Shelley by his side let out a sigh of relief and greeted him with a hint of surprise.
"Mmm, what is going on here?" Silvester first glanced at Colin standing next to Shelley and then looked around in confusion.
It was only after he had arrived outside the city that he suddenly realized that this was apparently not a mere cave magic surge!
"This is a Divine plot; they want to completely pollute these farmlands," Shelley answered briefly and then hurriedly added, "Instructor, quickly help us suppress the spread of this pollution."
Polluted farmlands... Silvester's expression immediately grew solemn. His eyes closed slightly, and when they opened again, they were emanating a faint golden light as he surveyed his surroundings.
With the special vision provided by witchcraft, Silvester could clearly see that the black pollution had deeply permeated the originally fertile soil, rendering it a peculiar grey and decayed color.
And at its worst, the pollution had even reached dozens of meters underground!
Only the areas burned by Colin were somewhat better. Although the ashes still carried pollution, they did not spread to the surroundings.
Then, from the corner of his eye, Silvester suddenly caught a glimpse of something strange. Turning to Colin, he asked:
"Why do you have a Third Rank Wizard's True Spirit in your hand?"
Colin was slightly startled and said, "I caught it."
Seeing Silvester's somewhat puzzled look, Colin paused and quickly explained what had happened:
"So this magic surge was plotted by the Adams Family?"
After hearing this, Silvester's expression changed dramatically. He didn't even have time to ask how Colin managed to cope with a Third Rank Wizard, but instead confirmed gravely.
"It should be... at least the Communication Ring Tower of the Golden Barley was destroyed by the Adams Family, and this True Spirit is likely theirs too."
Colin opened his palm; for some reason, since Silvester's arrival, Xize had fallen into a weird state of stupor and quiet.
"The plot of the Divine is not so simple," Silvester remarked with a flicker in his eye.
The Wizard's True Spirit in Colin's hand had already voluntarily disintegrated its spirituality, losing the possibility of communication and interrogation...
However, as Colin described, before his arrival, this True Spirit had not been like this.
"I need to return to Neustadt City once more," he said, looking up at Shelley and the rest, his voice deep.
After saying this, Silvester took a step forward, leaving behind a semi-transparent illusion, and then lightly pressed his finger on it.
Moments later, the illusion gradually became more distinct.
A clone, exactly like Silvester, appeared in front of Colin and the others.
Unlike the real Silvester, this clone had calm, stagnant eyes, clearly lacking high intelligence.
"The reinforcements from Neustadt City will soon arrive; this clone is enough to protect you. Be careful."
Having said that, Silvester took flight again, and his figure quickly disappeared from view, leaving Colin and the others looking at each other in bewilderment.
As a Fourth Rank Wizard, Silvester surely knew more than they did, and his hurried departure meant there must be something more important than saving the farmland at hand.
Colin looked at his palm, where the True Spirit of Xize had dimmed, and his eyebrows furrowed together involuntarily.
...
Teiya Strait.
The Magic Horn let out a long note like the roar of a tiger and the cry of a whale.
Under the silver-white moonlight that enveloped the area, the defensive fortifications built along the strait's cliffs resembled a long dragon with silver scales. Wizards were rapidly assembling, and huge crystal searchlights were rising from behind the front lines, their dazzling White Light illuminating a large swath of the Sea Domain, as if it were daytime.
At the border of the deep blue and the darkness, the towering shapes of thirteen giant towers emerged, standing solemnly like thirteen silent, indifferent giants.
In front of the giants, variously shaped ships were moving forward. In the clouds above, the pale silhouette of a Giant Dragon flickered into and out of view. Below, in the dark sea, strange shadows seemed to be lurking and moving.
"All Wizards, be on alert and ready for battle!"
In the center of the fortress, Agnes continued to remind them. With the enhancement of witchcraft, her robust voice reached every Wizard's ears, making them involuntarily hold their breath.
For about ten minutes, there had been a significant disturbance coming from the Sea Domain of the Divine.
A large fleet of ships was assembling, among them several figures exuding a formidable presence... The Wizards stationed at the strait dared not be negligent.
However, fortunately, the enemy fleet was assembling slowly, and they had already sent a message to the Supreme Council at the first opportunity.
