The Bizarre Wizarding World

Chapter 409: The Descent of the Demonic Tide

Boom!

"What is your plan?"

Colin swung out another punch. Xize, unable to dodge in time, was forced to endure the hit.

A slender crack appeared again in the blood-red barrier that had just formed in front of him.

"Is it against the Roon Kingdom?" Colin pressed on, his fist continuing to hurtle toward Xize like a meteor!

Xize reinvigorated the blood-red barrier that was about to shatter, concentrating to fend off Colin's fierce attacks.

As for the questions Colin was asking, Xize ignored them completely.

"If I'm not mistaken, you must also be an Adams... Has the Adams Family all turned to divine belief?"

Colin kept on questioning, his eyes firmly fixed on Xize's expressions.

He realized he had vastly underestimated the power that came from combining the abilities of a knight and a wizard. Now, battling the Third Rank Xize, he was unexpectedly controlling the rhythm of the attack.

Although Xize was not in his prime condition, he was nevertheless Third Rank!

Bang!

Another punch was thrown, crashing onto the blood-red barrier like a mighty dragon.

The colossal force made Xize shudder involuntarily; the blood-red barrier shattered with a clatter.

Without giving Xize a chance to catch his breath, Colin, with fist in hand, continued to advance. Meanwhile, he said, "The Adams Family has become traitors. Aren't you worried about the Supreme Council's retaliation?"

This time, the mentally strained Xize was affected by Colin's continuous verbal assault, and his dodging figure faltered slightly.

Colin's eyes lit up, seizing the opportunity to land a blow on Xize's chest.

With a thud, the latter was sent flying backward like a sack. As Colin hovered in the air, he pushed down forcefully as if stepping on solid ground, propelling himself like a cannonball in pursuit.

But Xize had already erected a new blood-red barrier to block his next attack.

"Retaliation... You'd better worry about yourself! The world is about to be destroyed. Only the wise will live on!" Xize sneered coldly. "You have no idea what the Supreme Council has kept from you!"

"What have they concealed?" Colin followed up on his words, but Xize returned to his silent state and said nothing more, just continuing to withstand the attacks.

Just five more minutes of delay, and everything would be set... Xize's eyes flickered, plotting to escape his Soul Body when the time was right, while also informing his Family about the exposure.

Luckily, as the person in charge on the scene, he could remotely initiate the operation ahead of time.

As for the exposure, it was yet to be decided how things would pan out based solely on Colin's word—the fleeing Official Wizards of the Roon Family still had a trace of his faint spiritual power attached to them. Once they got close to the Golden Barley, it would turn into a message and be transmitted to the younger members in the city.

They would handle those few that slipped through the net.

Moreover, if anything were peculiar, it was the monstrous wizard before him.

Who could assure the truth of the matter—that this wizard, to ensure the success of the operation, had killed the wizards of the Roon Family, slain the investigating wizards of the Yista School, and was now planning to pin the crimes on the Adams Family?

"You plan to destroy the farmland of the Roon Kingdom, don't you?"

How do you know... Lost in his grand plans, Xize's expression flickered nearly imperceptibly, but then he quickly recovered, regaining composure.

Although he didn't verbally respond and no significant change showed on his face, the brief moment of surprise made Colin's heart sink.

These fanatics devoted to divinity were indeed after the grains of Golden Barley!

No... I can't let them succeed!

The importance of grains was self-evident. The mere thought of the potential scenario weighed heavily on Colin's mind, as if a massive stone rested on his chest.

His eyes sparkled with determination as his thoughts spun swiftly, finally coming to a resolution.

"You madmen!" Colin shouted in anger, throwing his punch with force.

This punch was both swift and fierce. To Xize, it clearly appeared to be a punch of full strength, born of fury—immense and irresistible.

However, even as he thought this, Xize failed to react in time. He could only attempt to shift his body as the blood-red barrier shattered again, and Colin's fist whizzed past his shoulder, the wind from the punch tearing a gash across the shoulder of his Soul Body.

Xize grunted involuntarily. As he prepared to summon another blood-red barrier to confront Colin's ensuing attacks, he keenly noticed that Colin seemed to have overexerted himself, leaving his chest wide open!

"Opportunity!"

Xize's eyes lit up, forgoing the summoning of the blood-red barrier and instead unleashing his long-prepared attack!

Pfft!

The blood-red spiral spike, like a hot knife through butter, pierced fiercely into Colin's chest. Although it did not rend Colin's body to pieces as Xize had hoped, due to the formidable resistance of his flesh, it still left a sizable hole.

But that didn't matter. He had struck precisely at Colin's heart and hit his target. Besides, a Second Rank Wizard with a hole the size of a head through his chest should surely be dead...

Swish!

Just then, Colin, who should have fallen, suddenly lashed out with his left fist, swift as the wind.

Boom!!

The punch flew from below upward, starting from Xize's lower abdomen to the top of his head, almost tearing Xize in two.

Crucially, the punch carried a will power that shattered Xize's Soul Body into pieces, leaving him on the brink of death.

The situation of the battle had been reversed in an instant!
