The Billionaire and Secret Vow

Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Dominic clenched his fists tightly. This was the worst decision of his life, made by Victor. If this base exploded, everyone inside would be buried alive in the raging flames.

But he couldn't let Victor go through with it just like that—he still had unfinished business, a mission to save the world. Should he end Victor now? Or should he prioritize saving his team and find another way to hunt him down later?

Seconds continued to tick away, yet Dominic had not made his choice, while the timer on the device kept counting down, nearing its final moment before detonation.

Victor grinned victoriously. "Come on, Dominic! Will you waste the chance to kill me and take all of us down with you? Isn't this exciting?"

Amelia sprinted toward Dominic, grabbing his hand forcefully. "Leave him, Dominic! We have to go now!"

Dominic glanced at Amelia for a moment before shifting his gaze to Victor in a split second that felt like an eternity…

Then—

BOOM!!!

A massive explosion engulfed the entire base in blazing flames! Smoke and scorching heat chased after Dominic and his team as they sprinted toward the exit, desperately trying to escape. But amid the chaos… where was Victor? Had he managed to flee? Or was he truly buried under the rubble, destined to burn alive in the raging fire?

Flames roared behind them as Dominic and his team dashed through the crumbling ruins. The searing heat pressed against their backs while aftershocks shook the ground beneath them.

Rebecca was already outside, waiting for them with the vehicle. "Hurry! This place could collapse any second!" she shouted from the driver's seat.

Dante jumped into the car first, followed by Amelia, who nearly stumbled if Dominic hadn't pulled her up. Marco came last, firing a few shots behind him just in case before finally leaping in and slamming the door shut.

Rebecca stepped on the gas, speeding them away from the inferno they left behind. Through the rear window, Dominic watched as Victor's base was consumed by a single, devastating explosion. A massive fireball rose high, illuminating the night sky like a gateway to hell had just opened.

Amelia struggled to catch her breath. "Do you think Victor is really dead?" she asked softly.

Dominic didn't answer immediately. Deep down, he knew… someone like Victor wouldn't die that easily, especially since this explosion was part of his own plan. He must have thought of an escape route in advance.

Dante stared at Dominic seriously. "If he survived, then he's already plotting something even crazier than just a deadly explosion. We have to stay ready for whatever comes next."

Dominic clenched his fists again. "I won't stop fighting until Victor is completely erased from this world."

Rebecca glanced at Dominic through the rearview mirror. "We all want that to happen. But for now, we need a place to lay low and come up with a new plan."

Marco, who had been silent the entire time, finally spoke. "I know a place… far from anyone's radar."

Dominic turned to him. "Where?"

Marco gazed ahead, his eyes full of secrets. "We'll be there soon."

Meanwhile…

Far from the destruction of the base, a black helicopter hovered over the open sea. Inside, a man sat with numerous wounds covering his body. His breath was heavy, yet a sinister smile still lingered on his lips. Victor watched the distant flames with a look of satisfaction.

"You think you've won, Dominic?" he whispered.

A man in black handed him a satellite phone. "We're ready to execute the next phase, sir."

Victor took the phone and dialed a number. "I'm still alive. Proceed with **Omega Protocol.**"

A cold voice responded from the other end. "Understood."

Victor grinned once more, already imagining the chaos he was about to unleash.

—

Dominic and his team arrived at a secluded location—an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. Marco switched on a few emergency lights, revealing a spacious yet dusty interior where they could rest.

Dante groaned as he collapsed onto a wooden crate. "Damn, I need a break." He winced, touching his arm, still bleeding from the explosion's debris.

Amelia quickly grabbed the first aid kit from their vehicle and started tending to their wounds one by one. "We all need rest. But we also have to plan our next move," she said while dressing Dominic's shoulder wound.

Dominic sighed, wiping the dust and sweat from his face. "We all know this fight isn't over. Victor is still alive—I'm sure of it."

Rebecca, busy working on her laptop, suddenly turned to them. "I believe you, Dominic. But what worries me more is the Omega Protocol he mentioned before we escaped."

Dante frowned at the unfamiliar term. "What is that? It sounds like something really bad."

Rebecca typed rapidly, hacking into whatever network she could still access. Her eyes widened when a classified file appeared on her screen. "Oh, no … This is worse than we thought."

Amelia leaned in to read the file. "Victor doesn't just have a private military base. He's infiltrated the national security system. If Omega Protocol is activated … he can cripple the entire city in 24 hours."

Dominic clenched his fists. "Damn it. He really plans to bring everything down."

Marco, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke. "If we want to stop him, we have to act fast."

Rebecca nodded. "I can trace the last signal from his call. But we need to move now."

Dante exhaled deeply and pushed himself up despite his exhaustion. "Alright… I guess resting isn't an option right now."

Amelia looked at Dominic. "What's your next move?"

Dominic scanned his team before declaring with firm determination, "We hunt Victor down before he destroys this city. We won't let him win or grow stronger."

—

At a secret facility in the middle of the ocean, Victor stood before a massive screen displaying complex codes.

A hooded man beside him reported, "Everything is ready. In 12 hours, the city's entire defense system will be shut down."

Victor smirked. "This time, Dominic and his team won't be able to stop me." He stared at the screen with pure malice, as if he had already won.

Victor remained in front of a large holographic display, observing a map filled with red dots. These were key locations within the city's security system that would soon be rendered useless. He grinned, pleased with his work.

Behind him, a tall, muscular man with cold eyes stood at attention. His name was Rafael, a former mercenary who now served as Victor's right-hand man.

"We've breached the main city system. Once Omega Protocol is activated, the entire power grid will fail, communication networks will collapse, and our forces can enter without resistance," Rafael stated flatly.

Victor took a sip from his crystal glass. "Good job, Rafael. Dominic may have survived the base explosion, but this time, he won't be able to stop us."

A technician turned from his station. "Sir, there's interference in our system. Someone is trying to track us."

Victor sneered. "Rebecca."

He waved a hand toward the screen. "Block their access. Feed them false coordinates and lead them into a trap."

The technician nodded and got to work.

"Dominic, do you think this is just a game of cat and mouse?" Victor muttered, his eyes filled with hatred. "I've become the wolf. And you… you're just prey waiting to be slaughtered."

—

Rebecca typed furiously, trying to breach Victor's system. Her green eyes sparkled as she finally pinpointed what seemed to be Victor's secret base coordinates.

"Gotcha," she whispered.

Dominic and the others gathered around her in their moving van. "Where is he?" Dominic asked sharply.

Rebecca pointed at the screen. "An underground facility outside the city, near an old dock. If we move now, we can capture him before he activates Omega Protocol."

Dante grabbed his rifle. "Good. Let's end this bastard."

But Marco, seated in the back, wasn't convinced. "Hold on. This seems too easy."

Amelia frowned. "What do you mean?"

Marco crossed his arms. "Victor isn't reckless. If Rebecca found him this easily, it means he wants us to."

Silence fell over them.

Dominic gritted his teeth. "It's a trap."

Rebecca hesitated. "But if we don't go, we lose our only lead."

Dominic thought hard. If they backed off now, they'd lose their chance to take Victor down. But if they went in blindly, they might not make it out alive.

"There's one way to be sure," Dominic finally said. "We send a decoy."

Several of Victor's black vehicles came to a halt in front of an old building near the abandoned docks. His heavily armed soldiers took their positions, aiming their rifles toward the entrance gate.

Inside the hideout, live surveillance footage from multiple security cameras around the dock flickered on the monitors. Rafael watched the screen with an expressionless face. "They're here."

Victor smirked in satisfaction. "Good. Let's bury Dominic and his team here."

But then, something unexpected happened.

Suddenly, their communication signals were disrupted, causing the surveillance feed to flicker before finally cutting to black.

The technicians scrambled to fix the issue. "Sir, we've lost access to the cameras and security system!"

Victor shot to his feet. "What?! That's impossible!"

Rafael narrowed his eyes at the blank screen. "This means they knew it was a trap. They're turning the tables on us."

Before anyone could react—

BOOM!

A powerful explosion rocked the hideout, making the lights flicker while alarms blared loudly.

A soldier rushed in, panic evident in his voice. "Sir! We're under attack from the outside!"
