The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

Shhhh*

"I did it!" Katra jumped up in excitement before letting out a scream as she slipped. They were high in the air, and she was probably going to die if she fell down.

"Watch out!!!" Fei jumped forward in panic, and she used her bending to send a gust of strong wind behind Katara, sending her flying back onto the Bison. 

But the wind was a bit too strong...

Squelch*

"Am I seeing what you are seeing?" Sokka turned towards Kanuk with a question. But Kanuk was too stunned to speak at what he was looking at in front of him.

Fei fell on her back, her face flush as Katara's lips were smashed against hers. Katara opened her eyes, sensing that she stopped falling, and upon seeing Fei, she froze.

"ARGH!!!" Both jumped back from each other, their hands wiping their lips as they turned their backs. Kanuk and Sokka watched with eyes as big as dinner plates, trying to wrap their heads around what they had just witnessed.

"Katara... Are you okay?" Kanuk asked as he came out of his daze. Katara turned towards him while panting. His face was flush, and she was sweating. 

"Y-yes... I am okay." Katara said while wiping her mouth with her forearm. She looked at Fei with an angry blush. She had just kissed a girl, even if it was an accident.

"Well... At least you can condense water from the atmosphere now... That deserves something." Kanuk said as he rubbed the back of his head. The silence was loud as he finished talking. Katara and Fei looked away from each other in shame.

"That was gay!" Soka broke the silence as he pointed his finger at Katara and Fei. Katara glared at him as she slapped the air, causing a whip made of water to hit Sokka in the face.

"Ow! What was that for?!" Sokka asked as she put his hands over his face. He turned towards Katara to ask with a frown.

"That was an accident! So it did not count as a kiss?!" Sokka grumbled under his breath as he looked away. He did not want to be hit by that whip again.

"Fei, you okay?" Kanuk turned towards Fei, who was awfully quiet, and his eyes suddenly saw a temple beneath Appa. Fei's eyes were glued to it like she was burning a hole into the earth.

"We are here. The Southern Air Temple! Where I grew up." Kanuk and Katara looked at each other with a sad frown. They both knew that the air temple was wiped out.

It has been a hundred years since it was wiped out in the war. The heinous fire nation. They did not say anything. Fei would most likely not believe it if they told her what happened.

"Yip, Yip!" Appa let out a moo similar to a cow as he tilted his body down, flying towards the air temple. The wind rustled Kanuk's dark black hair, and his deep blue eyes shone as he saw the state of the temple.

His eyesight caught the skeletons numbering in the tens to hundreds. Children, older and middle-aged people. All of them were killed without exception, leaving nothing but bones.

Fauna grew over the temple as it was left to rot, and the ground was covered in scorched earth that had not vanished even a hundred years later. 

'Those monsters will pay! I will make sure of it.' Kanuk may not be a saint, but he is a good person. He would not kill an innocent person just to do it.

Hell, he wouldn't kill a criminal as long as he did not do something as bad as rape or murder. He was just a dude in his past life. He doesn't have the will to suddenly kill like nothing.

But even he has a limit to what he could ignore. The Fire Nation needs to be taken down a step. They will keep doing what they did in the past, if not worse.

"I can't wait to show you! I will introduce you to Monk Gyatso. He was the one that raised me!" Fei said as he turned around. Kanuk nodded with a smile, but he cringed inside.

Appa landed on the ground a few seconds later, and everyone besides Kanuk jumped down. Katara, Fei and Sokka looked back at him in confusion.

"You guys go on ahead. I will take a pee and then go after you." The three of them nodded as Fei led them towards the temple. Taking the opportunity, Kanuk jumped down.

Walking to appa's head, Kanuk leaned down and rubbed his head with a smile. He took an apple they got from a tree on their travel and fed it to Appa.

"Let's see what you have, big guy," Kanuk said with a smirk as he scanned him with his eyes. A blue screen popped up in his eyes, showing the different attributes that Appa has.

[Attributes: Enlightened Lv.1 ( Allowing flight if an Airbender), wind touched Lv.4 (Blessed by the winds, causing less strain on Chi when using air bending) Strainless Lv.5 (Can fly for a day or more easily)]

"Wow. Those are some attributes of a bison. Guess I shouldn't be surprised, I always knew you were built differently." Kanuk rubbed Appa's fur with a smile, causing Appa to close his eyes with a comfortable shake.

"System Coppy all his attributes, and if they are compatible, then fuse them together." Kanuk decided as he looked back towards the temple. Fei was now looking around for the people.

[Copying...]

[Copied.]

[Attributes... Compatible!]

[Fusing...]

[1%...]

[2%...]

[3%...]

"This again? System, can you make it fuse faster or something?" Kanuk asked with a bewildered face as he looked at the fusion process. He can't believe a system is taking this long to fuse his abilities.

[Sorry, host. I can't make it faster] 

A few minutes later. Kanuk opened his eyes as he felt the fusion process finish. Kanuk took a look at his new attribute. It did not fuse with the Elemental Body.

'I guess they're not good together. The Elemental body is more of a physical body attribute, while this is a spiritual attribute." Kanuk thought as he looked at the info on the new attribute.

[Wind's Champion: A naturla Airbender. Increases exp gain for air bending by 2 times. Takes 2 times less Chi. You can fly even without air. Body;s functions are more powerful.]

Kanuk felt his body tighten as he read the effects of his Wind's Champion. He opened his stats and saw that they had increased by a small amount.

Kanuk felt the increase in power and released a comfortable sigh from his mouth. He felt so free. He felt like he step on the wind and leave the world behind if he wished.

Kanuk leaned against Appa and closed his eyes, enjoying the feel of Appa's fur. It felt so comfortable that he almost fell asleep...

Boom!

The sleep was disturbed as a massive shockwave went past Kanuk's face. Opening his eyes, Kanuk saw that Fei was crying over the skeleton of Monk Gyatso.

She has entered the avatar state and is crying uncontrollably. She has a spinning windball wrapped around her. Kanuk immediately sprinted towards her. He needed to calm her down.

Swoosh!

Vanished, his speed leaving after image in the air. Kanuk crossed hundreds of meters in a second before arriving behind Fei.

"Fei! Calm down!"
