Chapter 38: Specialized Droids
[One Fat Digger, One Flying Man Eater, Eight Ghouls Lower Ranked Were Slain, Granting One Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Gold]
[Current Gold Coins: Seventeen Thousand Four Hundred Fifty Gold Coins]
With the attack coming to an end, Quagmire breathed in a large amount of air and breathed it out, effectively decreasing the fatigue he was currently experiencing. He glanced from side to side, and to his body. Everything is messy, including his uniform, as he had to roll to the ground multiple times.
With that in mind, it seemed like he needed a new set of uniforms. Rather than a new set of uniforms, a fresh bath should suffice. Unfortunately, he needs to get the base up and running first in order for that to happen.
With the central power beacon up and running, he wondered if the manufacturing plant and the cloning facility would be summoned in the same way. Or would it have to be built up by the construction droids first?
Anyway, thinking about it for so long would not really help, and one thing would fix it all, and that is to be able to try or actually do the thing and finally set it up from his inventory.
With a firm mind, he returned his pistol to his holster after cleaning off its residual dirt on its external appearance and returned the rifle to the inventory. He looked around. There was a bunch of dead ghouls, and so he needed to clean it up, rather the droids needed to clean it up, so he looked around for a suitable location to summon them.
When he found a suitable location, he immediately moved into the location. He pulled up his inventory and looked over the three kinds of droids he had. There was the Specialized Construction Droid, Specialized Logistics Droid, and Specialized Harvester Droid. The Construction and Harvester Droids are six each and the logistics one are three in his inventory.
Thinking about it, he only got a manufacturing plant and a cloning facility, which are surely expensive technological-wise, so it must mean that he also needs to research storage units and all the other things that require civilization to keep moving. Using that mindset, he brought out the Specialized Harvester Droids first.
He brought it out first as he needed to set up the harvesting locations, clean up the trees in the vicinities, and dispose of the bodies of the ghouls. When he brought out the droids, a flash of light came in front of him. Thankfully, there was no sound or anything shocking, as with the things that happened earlier.
Unfortunately, he was a little bit shocked by the things that came out. There were six droids that strangely looked like a human but were not human; it's just that their bodies resembled those of humans but were blocky and made of pure metal. Its body was painted with red and blue. Along its interior, there were tubes that were lit with the same blue energy that the Central Power Beacon gives. Lastly, on its head, there was a face, or what resembles a face; its eyes gave off a blue hue, and it had no nose or mouth to speak of.
The six harvester droids stood up in unison and waited for the emperor's command. After this, a window popped up in Quagmire's interface. It brought up the information acquired by The Pathfinder when it scanned the area.
On the interface, it became more specific; there were wood, nickel, silver, zinc, chromium, iron, copper, coal, and bauxite that, once refined and processed, could be turned into aluminum. There were also critical minerals for future development, which include antimony, arsenic, barite, beryllium, bismuth, cerium, cesium, cobalt, dysprosium, erbium, europium, fluorspar, gadolinium, gallium, germanium, graphite, hafnium, holmium, indium, iridium, lanthanum, lithium, lutetium, magnesium, manganese, neodymium, niobium, palladium, platinum, praseodymium, rhodium, rubidium, ruthenium, samarium, scandium, tantalum, tellurium, terbium, thulium, tin, titanium, tungsten, vanadium, ytterbium, yttrium, and zirconium.
There were a lot of minerals and metals, that it almost made his head explode. Fortunately, it meant that these minerals and metals are critical resources for the future, as it was shown by the adjutant and was specifically searched by the Pathfinder. Unfortunately, he does not know much of the use of all those minerals, so he would have to start with the foundational first.
He brought three harvesters to harvest wood and other plant resources, and then the other two he had started mining for iron, copper, Zinc, Nickel, and Chromium first. As he remembered that those were the critical resources of his time in his past world, he also needed to harvest coal, just in case for outposts and electrical production. If the core was down, it's just meant as a reserve, so it's not a priority as of yet.
The last harvester, he used it to clean up the dead ghouls as he found that there was an option that lets them clean things up.
Now, he brought out the six specialized construction droids; they were entirely the same as the harvesters, except their color palette was black and yellow. There, he found that he still needed to construct the manufacturing plant and cloning facility; it was not instant like the others; rather, he had a blueprint for it.
He felt a little disappointed, but he proceeded. He brought out the panel for construction but decided against it, as he was not sure if the ground was stable enough. Thankfully, there was a feature where the construction droids could check it and prepare the land for construction, which he did.
As a foundation, he decided to have the droids flatten the construction site and the surrounding area; he also made sure to build proper irrigation. But then where would the waste be thrown?! Furthermore, he does not have storage, so he has to build one so that he can store the resources he has and not have it decay in the open area.
Suddenly, as Quagmire was thinking about it, he felt that his gold coins were about to get drained.
