That Time I Got Reincarnated With Gacha System In Mahabharata

Chapter 16: Chapter No.16 Fools~

[Aditya's POV]

Creak! Creak!

A carriage was speeding from the Kingdom of Panachala towards Vrsadarbhpura—the capital city of Sindhu Kingdom. The wheels of the carriage turned relentlessly, kicking up dust as it sped through the rugged terrain. Inside, the air was thick with anticipation and tension.

"Why are we sitting like this again?" I asked Draupadi who was sitting on my lap rubbing her face on bear chest like a cat asking for affection.

Draupadi looked up at me with a playful glint in her eyes, a soft smile tugging at her lips. "Why? Do you not like it, my dear husband?" she teased, her voice laced with mischief. Her closeness sent a wave of warmth through me, a sensation I was still getting used to.

Looking at her like this my inner weeb awoke with a roar, demanding to indulge in this rare moment of affection. The soft teasing in Draupadi's voice and the warmth of her touch stirred emotions I hadn't allowed myself to feel in a long time. I chuckled softly, wrapping my arms around her to pull her closer.

"Call me...H-Hubby," I said with an embrassessed and anticipation that made my heart race. The word felt foreign on my tongue, yet exhilarating, like stepping into uncharted territory.

"Hubby?! what does that even mean?" Draupadi's eyes widened with playful surprise, and I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction.

"It means… well, it's just a term of endearment for a husband," I stammered, my cheeks heating up as I tried to explain. "I thought it might be a cute way to refer to you. You know, like how couples in stories sometimes talk to each other."

A teasing smile spread across her face, and she leaned in closer, her breath warm against my skin. "Cute? You think I'm cute?" She purred, her dark eyes sparkling with mischief.

The playful banter between us felt light and freeing, a welcome contrast to the tension I'd felt leading up to our wedding. I could feel myself relax in her presence, letting go of the uncertainties that had plagued me. "Very cute," I replied, trying to sound confident despite my heart racing.

"Then I'll call you Hubby from now on!" she declared with a playful gleam in her eyes. "I like it."

"Then I will call you 'Wifey'," I replied, a grin breaking across my face, feeling a warmth spread in my chest at the sound of the word. It felt surreal to call her that, yet it was oddly fitting, a delightful acknowledgment of our bond.

Draupadi's laughter filled the carriage, a melodic sound that made my heart dance. "Wifey it is then! We make quite the adorable couple, don't we?" She leaned back slightly, her eyes gleaming with mischief, and I couldn't help but nod in agreement.

"Absolutely. The most adorable," I said, feeling a surge of affection as I held her gaze. The intimacy of the moment settled around us like a warm blanket, and I realized how lucky I was to have her by my side.

As the carriage jolted over a bump in the road, Draupadi tightened her grip around my waist, leaning against me for support. "This is going to be a long journey, isn't it?" she said, settling back into my embrace.

"Yeah," I replied, looking out the window at the passing landscape. The rugged terrain blurred by us, but inside, the world felt still. "As my kingdom is quite far from yours, and when we get there. Coronation for both of us with be he—"

Suuuuu~ Suuuuu~

Bleak! Aghhh!

All of a sudden sea of arrows rained down on the carriage, with Coachee of the carriage riddled with whinnies in fear. The world erupted into chaos as the realization hit me like a thunderbolt. We were under attack.

Draupadi's grip tightened around me, her body instinctively pressing against mine. The air filled with the acrid smell of blood and the sound of wood splintering as the carriage rocked violently from the impact. My heart raced, adrenaline surging through my veins as I instinctively scanned the area for threats.

"Stay down!" I shouted, pulling Draupadi closer to shield her from the onslaught. The carriage bucked beneath us, and I could hear the distant sounds of chaos erupting outside—the shouts of bandits, and the panicked whinnies of the horses.

I safely tucked Draupadi under the seats suddenly caught in a serious ambush. The sound of whizzing arrows and the chaos around us made it clear that we were in grave danger. I quickly assessed the situation, adrenaline coursing through my veins as I tried to formulate a plan to protect Draupadi and myself.

"Draupadi, stay down and keep yourself hidden," I urged, my voice firm as I glanced around for any immediate threats. The carriage was under heavy attack, arrows raining down from all directions. It was a well-coordinated assault, and we were completely exposed.

From the system storage, the Leviathan Axe is a large, imposing weapon with sharp, crescent-shaped double-edged blade the gleams in a deep, silvery-blue hue. The blade appears almost crystalline, with glowing veins of frost running through it. Intricate, pulsing runes cover axe head, intensifying its icy glow.

The handle is crafted from enchanted wood streaked with faint blue veins, and wrapped in dark leather reinforced with metallic bands etched with glowing runes. A constant aura of frost mist swirls around the axe.

'It's slaughter today.'

As I summoned the Leviathan Axe into my grasp, its weight and power felt reassuring in the chaos unfolding around us. The enchanted weapon hummed with latent energy, its frosty aura swirling around me like a protective barrier. With Draupadi safely hidden under the seats, I braced myself, preparing to confront the attackers head-on.

The bandits outside continued their assault, their arrows raining down mercilessly. I gripped the Leviathan Axe tightly, focusing my thoughts to channel the power within. The runes etched into the axe's surface glowed faintly, responding to my touch as I prepared to retaliate.

With a swift motion, I burst through the carriage door, stepping into the fray. The bandits, caught off guard by my sudden appearance, hesitated for a moment, their surprise turning to aggression as they recognized the threat I posed.

Without hesitation, I swung the Leviathan Axe in a wide arc, the blade slicing through the air with a chilling sound. Ice crystals formed in its wake, freezing the arrows mid-flight and shattering them into harmless shards. The bandits recoiled, some taking a step back in fear as they witnessed the weapon's formidable power.

"Back off!" I shouted, my voice carrying a command that echoed with authority. "This is your only warning!"

A group of bandits, undeterred by my display of power, charged forward with weapons raised.

"So it's death, you chose!" I braced myself as the bandits charged, their faces twisted in fury and desperation. With Draupadi safe behind me, I focused on the task at hand, the Leviathan Axe humming with anticipation in my grip. Time seemed to slow as I assessed their movements, calculating my strikes with precision.

"Ivaldi's Anvil!"

With a surge of power, I activated Ivaldi's Anvil, channeling the ancient Runic Attack through the Leviathan Axe. As I leaped into the air, the axe's frosty aura intensified, swirling around me in a dazzling display of icy energy. The bandits below me looked up in shock, their faces illuminated by the blue glow of the runes.

With a thunderous crash, I slammed the Leviathan Axe into the ground, unleashing a wave of frost that radiated outwards in a deadly shockwave. Ice crystals formed instantaneously, encasing the bandits in a frozen prison as the blast spread across the battlefield.

The air around us crackled with frost, and the bandits, caught in the path of Ivaldi's Anvil, were immobilized in their tracks. Some were frozen solid, their weapons clattering to the ground, while others staggered back, their movements slowed by the numbing cold.

Draupadi, peeking out cautiously from the carriage, watched in awe as the battlefield transformed into a winter wonderland of frozen enemies. The Leviathan Axe hummed with satisfaction in my hands, its power proving to be a formidable deterrent against our attackers.

But bandits didn't detter as if possessed by a ruthless desperation. They regrouped, their eyes blazing with anger as they attempted to break through the icy barrier I had erected. The ones who remained unfrozen charged forward, undeterred by the fate of their comrades, wielding their weapons with reckless abandon.

"Focus, Aditya!" I reminded myself, my heart pounding with adrenaline. I could feel Draupadi's presence behind me, a reminder of what I was fighting for. I couldn't let them reach her.

As the next wave of attackers closed in, I swiftly readied myself for another strike. The Leviathan Axe felt like an extension of my will, the icy runes glowing brighter in response to my focus. I could feel the energy pulsating through me, urging me to unleash its power once more.

"Let's see if you can handle this!" I roared, channelling the energy into another heavy swing.

"Leviathan's Wake!"

The command erupted from my lips, echoing like thunder across the battlefield. As I spun around, the Leviathan Axe glimmered with an ethereal glow, the icy energy coiling around its blade, ready to be unleashed.

In one swift motion, I hurled the axe towards the approaching bandits. The weapon sliced through the air with a deafening roar, the cold energy trailing behind it like a comet. My heart raced as I watched it plow through the nearest group of attackers, the blade cutting a path of frost and chaos.

The explosion erupted on impact, a blinding flash of icy brilliance that sent shards of ice and debris flying in all directions. The bandits were thrown back, their cries of shock drowned out by the cacophony of shattering ice and splintering wood. Those caught in the blast were sent sprawling, some frozen mid-scream, while others lay unconscious, encased in the remnants of the magical frost.

I felt a surge of triumph course through me. The Leviathan Axe, with its incredible power, was turning the tide of battle in our favor. The chaotic energy of the ambush had transformed into a spectacle of frost and valor, and I was at the heart of it.

But the battle was far from over. As the dust settled, I quickly scanned the battlefield for any remaining threats. A few bandits remained, their faces twisted with anger and fear. They hesitated, glancing at their fallen comrades, but the desperation in their eyes urged them forward. It was clear that they were not going to back down easily.

But as they realized that the weapon of their despair was far away from me, their resolve surged, and they charged forward with renewed fury. The sight of their fallen comrades seemed to fuel their anger, igniting a reckless determination within them.

A small smile made its way to my lips as I lifted my empty hand forward and summoned the Leviathan Axe back to me with a thought. The weapon flew through the air, its frosty aura gleaming brightly, and landed perfectly in my grip, ready for the next strike.

"Fools~"
