That time I got reincarnated with a glitch: strings of fate

Chapter 111: Offensive defense triumph

Adam carved a path through thousands of creatures, demons nipping at his heels, as a Hydra's blast forced him to swiftly slice through more of the surrounding horde. He duplicated himself, unleashing multiple elemental attacks across the dimension.

Unbeknownst to Adam, a colossal dragon towered above, watching him and his duplicates. With a single sweep of its tail, the earth trembled as Adam and his copies were sent flying deeper into the dimension.

Meanwhile, Emily, in her half-human, half-phoenix form with wings, drew her dual swords. A single swing unleashed a fiery slice that scythed through the sky, incinerating hundreds of flying creatures.

Emily then rushed towards the powerful demon that was engaging Devon. She slashed at the demon, who regenerated and retaliated by thrusting his spear, charged with thunder, smashing its radius.

Emily blocked the attack with her dual swords, intensifying her fire to cut the spear into pieces. Moving at blinding speed, she aimed for the demon's head, cleanly slicing it off and engulfing its body in inextinguishable flames. The demon's form burned relentlessly, attempting to regenerate but ultimately succumbing to Emily's inferno.

The elites fought mid-giants, utilizing their unique abilities, while Devon unleashed a barrage of meteors. The portal, which had ceased releasing invaders since Adam entered, suddenly began to crack, and the nose of the giant dragon peeked out.

Adam, bombarded and surrounded by armies, unleashed a mana outburst, incinerating all life forms in his radius. The dragon then shattered the metal wall surrounding the portal and pushed its massive head through, preparing to unleash another, stronger attack.

Everyone, including Emily, watched in horror as the dragon's mouth opened, charging a beam. Without Adam's immediate protection, they knew they would be annihilated.

Devon, quick-thinking, opened a portal directly in front of the incoming fire beam, attempting to redirect the blast. He then conjured all his swords into a single massive sword, then slice the neck of the dragon but sword breaks apart by the dragon's scale. All the sword merged back preparing to shield the attack.

As the colossal fire beam launched, it passed through Devon's portal, but the portal cracked, and the rings on Devon's fingers shattered and broke apart. The portal vanished just as the dragon's blast hit. The giant sword, meant to shield them, crumbled instantly.

Emily, however, rushed forward, fully transformed into her phoenix form, and absorbed the blast. She then unleashed an immense supernova to counter it, but the dragon released an even stronger surge of energy, forcing Emily back. Emily was forced to expend her life force, creating an extreme defensive supernova to absorb the full brunt of the beam.

Victory and Aftermath

Adam, sensing something was gravely wrong and seeing the dragon's head in the portal, remembered Nirik's warning about creating a black hole if he sent duplicates into two worlds. Looking at the dragon's head, he quickly teleported and, channeling the accumulated damage from his shield, unleashed the most powerful slice he could muster to its neck. The slice cut clean through, and the dragon's severed head dropped back inside the portal.

Emily, who had been holding the full force of the blast, suddenly felt it cease as she exerted her remaining energy and most of her life force to prevent the catastrophe.

Exhausted, Emily fell from the sky, unconscious. The others rushed to save her, unleashing multiple attacks at flying creatures, while Genji's demons surrounded Emily's body. Brad transformed into a giant fox, destroying creatures and gently cradling Emily's body, bringing her to the mana-rich area of the battlefield. The other creatures quickly began healing Emily's injuries.

Adam remained near the portal, unleashing the biggest dimensional rift he could, absorbing both the gigantic dragon's body and any remaining creatures attempting to enter. Adam remembered Nirik's voice telling him he needed to exit the portal before it closed, or he wouldn't be able to teleport between worlds.

His duplicates had to return to his main body before he could leave. Still worried about the safety of his own world, Adam maintained a strong dimensional rift, preventing any more invaders from getting through. His duplicates held the rift open while others continued to cut through the enemy army.

Adam knew the portal would be closing soon. He sent two of his duplicates to unleash an incredibly powerful attack, bouncing accumulated damage off each other to create the strongest possible strike, aiming to decimate the remaining armies before he left.

As the elders managed to destroy the spiritual dimension, the disruption began, and the portal's mana connection became volatile. The giant portal slowly reduced in size, and Adam realized it was time to unleash the full, accumulated damage.

The immense power from the bouncing duplicates erupted into the invading army like a directed, massive nuclear weapon, bursting through their ranks as far as Adam could see. Adam then retracted all his duplicates and stepped back towards the rapidly closing portal.

As he fell from the sky, he saw the portal seal shut. He had managed to stop the calamity. Adam shouted in victory, his roar joined by the triumphant shouts of everyone around him.

The remaining invading armies, witnessing their failed attempt and the loss of their strongest leaders, surrendered themselves, left stranded on this world. Everyone cheered, marking the most historic event in decades. They had stopped the invasion and prevented a calamity from engulfing their world.
