Taking the Lustful Path: Starting with Sister-in-law

Chapter 9: Medium Level talent.

After finishing breakfast with his mother and sister-in-law, Liu Yizan excused himself and headed to the small chicken coop at the side of the house.

The coop was simple, made of wooden planks with a slanted roof, and housed a handful of chickens that clucked softly as they stirred.

He grabbed a small wooden bucket filled with feed and scattered it across the ground inside the coop.

The chickens immediately rushed forward, pecking eagerly at the grains. Smiling faintly at the sight, Liu Yizan opened the door to let them roam freely around the village for the day.

As he leaned against the coop, wiping his hands on his pants, his thoughts drifted to the system that had awakened within him. 'How many Upgrade points do I have now?' he wondered, recalling the events of last night.

Almost as if answering his thoughts, a faint chiming sound echoed in his mind, and a translucent holographic screen appeared at the corner of his vision.

[Upgrade points: 5.15]

He raised his eyebrows upon seeing the current amount of Upgrade points displayed on the holographic screen.

Yesterday, when he had first checked his status, he had found 3 points. Now, however, the total had increased to 5.15 points—a clear addition of 2.15 points.

Liu Yizan narrowed his eyes in thought, analyzing the situation. 'So, what happened with my sister-in-law last night earned me 2.15 points?' he mused. 'Is that amount considered less or more?'

The numbers seemed odd to him.

While he had no prior data for comparison, the idea of gaining points tied to satisfaction lingered in his mind.

He wondered how the system calculated this—was it purely about physical intimacy, or did emotions also play a role?

Scratching the back of his head, Liu Yizan muttered under his breath, "I need more information... or more data to figure this out."

Liu Yizan shook his head, pushing aside his lingering confusions.

A small smile appeared on his lips as he said, "Well, since I have enough points to upgrade my martial talent, why not just do that? No point in overthinking it right now."

Liu Yizan's thoughts lingered on the Earth Pulse Technique, the betrothal gift from the village chief when his sister-in-law married his elder brother.

The manual, though a basic Rank 2 cultivation technique, was designed to draw energy from the land and refine the practitioner's body.

It wasn't the most powerful technique, but it was practical for someone in their small village.

Unlike the guards' cultivation paths, which came with restrictions and duties, this technique allowed freedom.

Leaving the village for better opportunities had crossed his mind, but the dangers outside and his responsibility to his mother and sister-in-law kept him grounded.

'It's better to build a strong foundation here,' he thought. 'Once I reach Rank 2, I'll train them as martial artists too. Then we'll face the world together.'

His resolve hardened. "With better talent, even this basic technique should yield decent results," Liu Yizan muttered.

Focusing on the holographic screen, his gaze locked onto the [0/5] indicator beside his martial talent.

His fingers curled slightly, as if mentally pushing the glowing + symbol.

Liu Yizan focused on the screen, and with a thought, he fed the 5 Upgrade points into the indicator.

As he did, the number shifted from [0/5] to [5/5], the indicator fully filled.

Immediately, the glowing + symbol changed into a - symbol, signifying that the points could now be taken back if needed.

Beside the - symbol was a button labeled [Confirm], which would finalize the upgrade process.

After a deep breath, Liu Yizan pressed the [Confirm] button, sealing his choice.

A faint hum filled his mind as the system activated, and he could feel a surge of energy rushing through his body.

His muscles seemed to tighten, and his senses sharpened. It was as if the air itself became clearer, and his movements felt lighter.

His connection to the land around him also seemed more vivid, more powerful.

As the process completed, Liu Yizan felt a momentary wave of dizziness, but it quickly passed.

He stood still for a moment, letting the new strength settle within him. His body felt different—more alive, more attuned to his surroundings.

The upgrade was complete, and his martial talent had advanced from Low to Medium. His potential had increased, and with it, his confidence.

Liu Yizan stared at the new indicator for his martial talent, now showing [0/20] for the next upgrade.

To reach the High-level martial talent, he would need 20 Upgrade points.

Though it seemed like a significant jump from the 5 points required for his previous upgrade, he understood the value it would bring.

His martial potential had risen dramatically, from being capped at Rank 2 to now having the potential to reach Rank 4.

Rank 4 martial artists were something of legends in this area of land.

The strongest he had heard of were Rank 3 martial artists, who were described as having the strength of five bulls.

It was said that a Rank 3 could overwhelm the combined strength of more than Thirty men easily, which placed them in a superhuman category.

The mayor of the nearest town, who was a Rank 3, was celebrated and respected by everyone.

Those people like his friend Zhen Ming, with the potential to reach Rank 4, would eventually leave their small village.

This place, while peaceful and safe, simply couldn't provide the resources or opportunities needed for someone with such potential to grow.

Big towns and cities, however, were a different story.

There are, Dojos, Gangs, and Sects, actively sought individuals with high martial talent.

These organizations would train promising individuals, grooming them to become disciples or even successors, offering resources, advanced techniques, and mentorship that could accelerate a martial artist's progress.

Liu Yizan took a deep breath and made his decision. 'One step at a time', he reminded himself.

His first priority would be to master the Earth Pulse Cultivation Technique and then reassess his path.

He felt confident that, with the power of the Lustful Upgrade System, he would be able to rapidly advance in his martial skills.

He estimated that he could probably upgrade his martial talent again in less than a week, as long as he was focused and nothing unexpected stood in his way.

The crops were still a few months away from being harvested, so he had enough time to focus on his cultivation.

Going out to check the farm once or twice a day would be enough to keep an eye on things for now.
