Chapter 10: Earth Pulse Martial Technique
Liu Yizan made his way to his original room upstairs after retrieving the martial cultivation manual from his sister-in-law.
His sister-in-law is the youngest daughter of the village chief, which is why the village chief had given them this martial cultivation manual as her betrothal gift.
However, Liu Yizan did not receive anything as a betrothal gift when he married her yesterday.
The reason for this was that his sister-in-law had already been considered part of his family, having previously been married to his elder brother.
Though she became a widow later on, it became his family's responsibility to take care of her.
This time, her marriage was arranged by his family, meaning the wedding was not a union between two separate families, but a matter handled within the family itself.
After sitting down on his bed, Liu Yizan took a deep breath and opened the manual.
The pages were filled with detailed instructions about the Earth Pulse Cultivation Technique.
The manual began with an explanation of the technique's nature, describing how it harnessed the energy from the earth itself, allowing the practitioner to absorb and refine this energy to strengthen their body and spirit.
The text then outlined the exercises required to practice the technique. It included specific stances and breathing exercises, aimed at aligning the practitioner's energy with the natural flow of the earth.
The more one practiced, the more attuned they would become to the earth's pulse, which in turn would increase the speed and efficiency of their cultivation.
As he read on, Liu Yizan's mind absorbed the steps and principles outlined in the manual.
The more he understood, the more he could feel a sense of connection with the earth itself, a subtle energy he had never noticed before.
This cultivation technique seemed simple, but it was deeply tied to nature, and mastering it would provide significant benefits to his cultivation speed.
He continued to read the manual, not realizing that the time had already turned from morning to afternoon.
His mother and sister-in-law, noticing that he hadn't come to the dining area for lunch, went to call for him.
His sister-in-law went to his room and found him engrossed in the cultivation manual, one that she had kept to herself for many years.
Seeing him so focused on the manual, she stopped in her tracks and stared at his handsome profile.
Though he was tanned, she couldn't deny that her little brother-in-law was the most handsome young man in the village.
'He had certainly inherited his mother's looks', she thought, before slowly entering the room.
When she saw that he was still reading and hadn't noticed her standing in front of him, she couldn't help but smile.
She bent down toward him and looked at his face. "Yizan," she said softly.
Hearing his name, Liu Yizan was jolted from his focus. When he saw his sister-in-law's beautiful face just inches away from his, he was startled.
But before he can say anything about startling him, his sister in law directly went for a kiss and took his lips into her mouth.
She sucked his lips for some seconds.
After his initial shock, Liu Yizan calmed down and began to kiss her back. After kissing for two minutes, they finally separated, their breaths a little ragged, their cheeks flushed.
Liu Xianwei straightened herself, looking at him with a smile, and said, "Let's go, my little Yizan. Mother is waiting for you downstairs."
Hearing this, Liu Yizan snapped out of his daze. He glanced out of his room and was surprised by the intensity of the sunlight.
He hadn't realized that so much time had passed; it felt like only 15 minutes, but in reality, he had been reading the manual for over three hours.
'Medium Grade talent is really something else', he thought in amazement.
But he quickly shook off his stupor, looked at his sister-in-law, and said, "Okay, let's go."
He placed the manual on the bed and took his sister-in-law's hand.
As she felt his touch, her smile brightened, and the two of them walked downstairs hand in hand.
After having lunch with his mother and sister-in-law, Liu Yizan returned to reading the manual.
Given its thickness, he estimated it would take at least Seven more days to finish reading it.
Afterward, he would still need time to fully grasp its core concepts and practice the techniques to see how they actually worked.
His comprehension ability was far better than before, a fact he had noticed after spending so many hours with the manual.
In martial arts, the main difference between an average person and someone with high-level talent was their comprehension.
Without his medium-level martial talent, he wouldn't have been able to understand the manual as he did now.
The Earth Pulse Technique, though, was relatively simple and basic—almost like the equivalent of kindergarten-level study in his past world.
With his medium-level martial talent, he was completing this "kindergarten" study at the level of a high school graduate, so it was no surprise that he was progressing so quickly.
He estimated that, with his current progress, he would be able to comprehend the cultivation technique within ten days.
Nodding to himself, Liu Yizan returned to reading the manual, taking more steps into the world of martial arts.
Though the road ahead was still long, and he hadn't even truly begun his journey yet, he was confident that with steady progress, he would one day reach the peak.
"Plus, being at the peak alone isn't my style. Since I have the system, once I reach the limit of my martial talent, I'll also increase the martial talents of Mother and Sister-in-law," he said to himself, a smile spreading across his face.
He had the power to be with his family for many more years, so why wouldn't he take advantage of it? Of course, he would do everything in his power to make both of them stronger, just like himself.
