Supremely Talented Tyrant

Chapter 1175: Tailgating

That night.

As the most luxurious bar in the area, Drought Bar opened relatively early. By five-thirty, the impatient customers waiting at the entrance finally saw its doors open.

They trickled inside, each with different intentions, some merely coming to drown their sorrows, others looking for a one-night stand.

"Click..."

At this moment, a figure suddenly appeared at the corner in front of the bar. The person had a calm gaze, and behind him, a Range Rover was parked.

"Hope I can find some clues tonight."

Looking at the neon-lit bar not far away, Hao Jian's eyes flickered and he shook his head: "Let's go in and take a look first."

As he pondered, Hao Jian started to move, but suddenly his foot stopped mid-air, eyes filled with doubt, focused on the bar entrance.

Just then, a woman in casual clothes suddenly walked out from inside the bar, lifted her head, glanced around, and then got into a regular van parked in the lot.

Seeing this woman, Hao Jian felt a sense of familiarity, but he was sure he didn't know her. As the woman looked around, he happened to catch a glimpse of her face, and his expression slightly stiffened.

So it's her...

No wonder he felt a sense of familiarity when he saw this woman.

Hao Jian fixed his gaze on the van, memorized the license plate, then withdrew his foot and turned to the Range Rover behind him.

Slowly starting the car, he drove away.

The woman was the rabbit girl Hao Jian had seen in the surveillance today, and she was also his current target. Now that the target had emerged, Hao Jian naturally didn't need to go to the bar.

Originally, Hao Jian had a doubt whether Zheng Hui had met with trouble after this woman left, but now it was obvious that wasn't the case.

Since she was a bar escort, why was she leaving at this working hour?

Trailing far behind the van, it finally stopped in front of a department store half an hour later, and from the store, the woman appeared alongside a rather burly man.

The man held the woman intimately around the waist, which might seem to others as a clingy couple or spouses, but in Hao Jian's eyes, their actions carried a hint of stiffness.

Clearly, the two were not lovers or spouses, so why were they pretending? They were just simply going to a supermarket, was such acting necessary?

Faced with such a situation, Hao Jian was unsure and did not intend to intervene. Initially, he wanted to catch the woman and interrogate her.

But later he reconsidered and thought it unwise; the clues pointed only to this woman, and simply interrogating her might not yield anything significant.

If interrogation wouldn't work, then he'd follow them; some things couldn't be revealed through interrogation but could be observed through tracking.

He parked the Range Rover inconspicuously on a street, slightly poking out so Hao Jian could keep an eye on the van, confident that the two would come out again.

Half an hour later...

Indeed, as Hao Jian waited there, the woman and the man emerged carrying plenty of items, first a bag of rice, some vegetables, oil, salt, and the rest were snacks or fast food products; Hao Jian even saw the man holding a large bag of vegetables.

The two carried their bags and loaded them into the van, which then started and drove onto the street.

Seeing the van drive away, Hao Jian quickly started his car, following them from afar, needing to monitor their movements without being discovered by them.

Such tactics might prove difficult for others, but for Hao Jian, it was easy; his nickname, God of Death, wasn't taken lightly.

The next hour saw nightfall, but the longer Hao Jian followed, the more surprised he grew. Within that hour, they went to three more supermarkets besides the previous one, buying similar items, ending up with four or five bags of rice.

Just as Hao Jian thought these two were still planning to shop, his eyes suddenly lit up as he watched the van enter the highway.

Since they were entering the highway, Hao Jian didn't rush, leisurely following for a dozen minutes before he too got onto the highway behind them.

Once on the highway, Hao Jian pressed the accelerator, reaching two hundred speed, speeding for about five or six minutes before seeing the van two kilometers ahead.

Upon spotting the van, he gradually slowed down; only at this distance, using some cars ahead as cover, could he follow without being detected.

Time passed, and the van in front finally exited the highway. Watching the van exit, Hao Jian lowered his head, checked the navigation map, and found that they had already left the city area, now considered the outskirts of Hao'an City.

"Buying so many things and then heading to the countryside?"

Hao Jian's face showed a hint of confusion, but he didn't think too much of it. Instead, he followed the van and exited the highway.

After another half an hour's drive, the van finally stopped in a deserted area, with several large mountains ahead of it.

As soon as Hao Jian saw from a distance that they had stopped, he parked his Land Rover by the roadside and quietly made his way up one of the mountains.

Taking advantage of the dense shrubs as cover, Hao Jian easily monitored these people from above.

He watched as the woman and the other woman took a cargo cart from the van, loaded all the purchased items onto the cart, and pushed it forward, one at the front and one at the back.

"..."

Seeing the caution on their faces and these strange actions, Hao Jian increasingly felt there was something significant going on here. Why buy so many things from the supermarket to bring here?

After all, this place is utterly desolate, completely unsuitable for people to live in. Even to just leave, one would have to travel twenty kilometers to the nearest small town.

So why are they coming to such a barren and inhospitable place?

"It seems like this matter is not that simple..."

On the mountain, Hao Jian's eyes grew deeper. If it were simply a matter of capturing a few people, there probably wouldn't be any problems, and there was no need to come all the way out here.

Moreover, judging by the skillful actions of the two, it wasn't their first time doing something like this. However, it was now dark, and Hao Jian could only watch the two by the faint moonlight.

As for losing track of them, Hao Jian wasn't worried. Both of them carried a flashlight, and as long as the flashlight was on, Hao Jian wouldn't lose them.

Once he could only see two points of light, Hao Jian slowly made his way up the mountain, carefully following the two, but unfortunately, halfway up the mountain, he realized he would lose them if he continued. Promptly, Hao Jian took a detour, using the trees as cover, and slowly made his way down.

After trailing them for ten minutes, Hao Jian noticed the two points of light suddenly stopped. Curious, he cautiously approached and discovered a large pit in front of the two, with only a small path on one side.

"I wonder why the boss wants this hole dug here..."

Suddenly, the woman frowned, looking at the pit before her.

"Talk less. The boss's matters are not for us to discuss. Just deliver the stuff."

Perhaps the woman wanted to know the reason from the man's mouth, but clearly, the man didn't intend to say much. After saying this, he fell silent.

Hmph!

Seeing the man's silence, the woman ultimately said nothing, not because she gave up, but because she feared the boss's power. It was precisely because she knew that she felt afraid.

Next, with combined efforts, they pushed the cart across the pit on the three-meter wide path.

It wasn't that they didn't want to enter from elsewhere; rather, only this path could lead into the depths of the mountains, and all around were high mountains, with no roads for them to take.

It was also because there was only this path that their van couldn't drive in; otherwise, they wouldn't have to push and walk.

As their lights moved away, Hao Jian continued to move forward, but he didn't dare to step out, relying on the surrounding trees to move.

A minute later, in his cautiousness, Hao Jian suddenly noticed that across the pit, two people in white protective suits appeared, holding something that resembled a human figure in their arms.

He saw them casually toss the object into the pit, creating a dull thud, and hearing this sound, Hao Jian's face darkened.

It was a sound he was most familiar with—the sound of a human body hitting the ground!

He stayed on a tree for a while. After the two people left, Hao Jian cautiously extended his head from the tree and leapt to the ground, using the cover of the night to slowly make his way to the edge of the pit.

Before he even reached the pit, a stench that made him nauseous assaulted him. When he cast his gaze into the enormous pit, his face turned ashen in an instant. His eyes widened, and anger surged as uncontrollable killing intent erupted from within him. This icy killing intent caused the grass around him to wilt in an instant.

"Those damned bastards!"

A voice suppressing anger emerged from Hao Jian, slowly echoing around him, yet not spreading out. It seemed that on the edge of losing his sanity, Hao Jian was still clinging to clarity.
