Chapter 1174: Zheng Hui Missing
"Don't worry for now, leave this matter to me to check out."
Since those police officers weren't taking action and he didn't have any resources to deploy in Hao'an City, he could only rely on himself.
Surely, he couldn't let Shu Ya and the others go and look for people, right? With their strength, or rather their ideas, they probably wouldn't find anyone at all.
Instead of letting them go out and cause trouble, it was better for them to stay quietly in the hotel and wait for his news.
"You guys head back to the hotel first, I'll go and take a look. As for the matters with Secretary Lin, explain the situation to him and ask him to come over later."
After speaking, Hao Jian looked again at Wei De and asked, "What's the name of the bar you went to last night?"
"Chairman, that bar is called Drought Bar!"
"Alright, don't leave the hotel!"
Hao Jian nodded and, saying that, was about to head out alone.
Now in Hao'an City, without his influence, one person was enough to make him struggle to find them. If these people sneaked out and encountered kidnapping or disappearance, he'd really have no way to handle it, and even if there was, it would require a huge expenditure of effort and resources.
He didn't want to cause trouble that could originally be avoided, and with Shu Ya around, he believed they would obediently stay at the hotel.
"Hao Jian, be careful..."
Shu Ya looked at Hao Jian and quickly said.
"I know."
Hao Jian smiled slightly, waved to Shu Ya, and with a stomp of his foot on the ground, his figure leapt out. With a few flashes, he disappeared from the hotel parking lot.
Seeing Hao Jian's agility, the others didn't show any strange or curious expressions. They were all elites helping Shu Ya with business expansion abroad, having been personally investigated by Hao Jian, and they also knew his identity.
"Let's go. Remember what Hao Jian said, we're in a special period. Stay in the hotel and do your own work. If I find out any of you acted on your own, I won't be polite..."
After Hao Jian was out of sight, Shu Ya turned and led the way to the hotel entrance, coldly addressing the five as she passed by them.
"Yes, President!"
What a joke, the five of them wouldn't risk their lives. Now that Zheng Hui was in trouble, life and death uncertain, even if Shu Ya asked them to leave, they wouldn't dare. Losing their job was better than losing their life, right?
So, they returned to the hotel, back to their rooms.
At the time they returned to the bar, Hao Jian had already reached a street corner over eight hundred meters from the hotel, recognized the direction, and started running towards the bar called Drought Bar.
The Drought Bar was only three to four kilometers from the hotel, which was why Zheng Hui and the others thought of having some fun there.
At Hao Jian's pace, it took just five minutes. Seeing the bar right in front, Hao Jian frowned slightly. The bar currently closed, meaning it only opened at night.
"That's fine, it's a suitable time for infiltration. If it were nighttime, infiltration would be more challenging."
His tight frown relaxed, a slight smile on his lips. He stroked his chin, walked around the bar, memorized its external structure, then headed to a milk tea shop's balcony, sipping milk tea, considering his strategies.
"The eastern street faces a residential area, less crowded, and there's a slightly open window which is the best entry point. The only thing is I don't yet know the situation inside the bar..."
Sipping a freshly ordered coffee, Hao Jian's gaze fell on the coffee, although not focused, eyes dim, thoughts racing over various strategy feasibilities.
"Seems like I have to get in first, to ascertain the internal situation of this bar."
Downing the coffee, he carefully wiped around with a napkin, then headed downstairs. As the first step in infiltration, it's crucial not to have any foreign scents on him.
No one knew if the place he would sneak into had any odor-capturing substances. If it did, it would leave a traceable clue.
"Shoosh!"
Rounding a street corner, glancing at the surroundings, he tiptoed and pushed off the ground, his figure soaring up, leaping onto a three-meter-high window.
"Tap..."
He had checked the situation behind the window earlier and, seeing no anomalies, he jumped in confidently.
"We need to find the security room first."
After entering the nightclub, Hao Jian quickly left the room and started looking for the nightclub's layout map, which he soon found. This was because the various corridors inside the nightclub were all pasted with the escape routes.
And on it, there was a marked security room.
"Hehe."
The security room wasn't far; it was on the second floor of the nightclub. Hao Jian chuckled and found the nightclub's stairs. He ascended them, making sure not to leave any trace.
It was quite strange; the nightclub wasn't open yet, but logically, it should have some staff on-site to watch over it. After all, the nightclub occupied the whole building, with each floor having over two hundred square meters. In such a large place, was he not afraid someone would sneak in and steal things?
Hao Jian shook his head, not thinking much of it. With no one around, it wouldn't complicate his infiltration and actually facilitated it.
Very soon, Hao Jian reached the security room, observing the ten or so monitors that were still on yet without any person present. Hao Jian's lips curved into a slight smile.
He slipped inside and walked into the twenty square meter security room. His gaze swept over and found a monitor facing the entire first-floor lobby of the nightclub.
Looking at the buttons below, Hao Jian skillfully brought up last night's surveillance footage, set the time to what Shi Yu and the others mentioned, and started watching at dozens of times the normal speed.
It might be noon now, so the nightclub didn't open. Hao Jian stayed in the security room for two whole hours, yet still, no one came by.
Such ample time practically assisted Hao Jian; during these two hours, he viewed numerous monitors and managed to find the missing employee on three different ones.
One was at the bar counter, another in the corridor, and the last at the nightclub's entrance.
From the surveillance video, it could be seen that the missing employee initially drank with Wei De and Shi Yu, charming the young women coming to the nightclub to unwind.
But later, around nine-thirty, a provocatively dressed and extremely sexy bunny-girl suddenly sat next to this employee, continuously flirting with him.
The employee didn't refuse; instead, he reciprocated the advances. Around ten o'clock, he left the nightclub with the bunny-girl, and similarly, Wei De and Shi Yu also departed after the two left.
Seeing this, Hao Jian frowned. The surveillance video only showed the employee leaving the nightclub but didn't reveal where he went.
Everything seemed quite normal; whether it was the bunny-girl or those employees, even the people playing in the nightclub, their behaviors seemed normal in Hao Jian's eyes.
"If I could use the Hao'an City police files, I might know who this woman really is..."
Hao Jian's gaze fixed tightly on the seductive bunny-girl on the screen. The missing employee's connection with her was crucial, and Hao Jian could even conclude that this woman was why Zheng Hui disappeared!
"Looks like I'll have to come back tonight to see if I can find any clues."
Currently, the surveillance video only showed these clues. Continuing to search wouldn't yield anything new, so Hao Jian decided to leave.
Returning the way he came, Hao Jian went back to the hotel.
"How did it go?"
Shu Ya, who had been waiting in the hotel room for Hao Jian's news, suddenly saw Hao Jian appear at the door. Her delicate face instantly showed a worried expression as she asked.
Just returned to the hotel room, Hao Jian was about to close the door when he heard Shu Ya's voice. He chuckled bitterly, closed the door behind him, and walked slowly to Shu Ya's side, sitting on the sofa.
Looking at her, he shook his head and said, "Just found some clues, but specific confirmation will have to wait until tonight. By the way, call Lin Zheng and ask him to postpone today's activities. Once Zheng Hui is found, we'll go to inspect that mine."
"As for Zheng Hui's safety, you don't need to worry for now. We still don't know why those people took him, but I hope Zheng Hui is useful to them. Since he's useful, they won't let him die so quickly."
Seeing Hao Jian shaking his head, Shu Ya's heart sank, but hearing his explanation relieved her. With Hao Jian's assurance, she felt at ease.
Immediately, she picked up the phone, called Lin Zheng, and explained the situation. Regarding Zheng Hui's disappearance, Lin Zheng simply stated that he was trying his best.
However, the police continued to reject his proposal and refused to send someone to search, leaving him no choice but to send his own people.
Yet, his subordinates were not professionals, so Hao Jian held little hope for them. Ultimately, he had to rely on himself.
"Alright, let's rest for now. Your body shouldn't be strained."
The only thing left to do was to wait for nightfall, when the nightclub opened.
