Chapter 602: Chapter 603: The Truth Long Known

"Why are demons after me?" Angela Dawson's eyes flickered with confusion as she recalled her experiences. Although she couldn't understand why demons were targeting her, she began to recount her story. Angela was a detective, and one day, her twin sister mysteriously died. All evidence pointed to suicide, but Angela couldn't believe her sister would take her own life, so she decided to investigate the truth.

However, as soon as she began her investigation, strange events started happening. Angela felt as if someone was watching her near the scene of her sister's death. Doors would mysteriously close behind her, but when she tried to find out who was watching her, she found no evidence.

Angela was a trained detective and would have noticed if someone was stalking her. Still, being a staunch atheist, she believed that science could explain all phenomena and solve all problems, and she dismissed the idea of ghosts or spirits. When her investigation yielded no results, she decided to visit the place where her sister had died.

To her horror, Angela encountered what appeared to be her sister, who suddenly stood before her with a sinister smile. However, upon closer inspection, Angela realized that this figure was not her sister but a menacing demon. In a panic, Angela fired her gun at the demon, but the bullets had no effect.

Realizing the situation was beyond her understanding, Angela fled, eventually finding herself in the bar where Hellboy was. What happened next was beyond her knowledge.

"Your twin sister suddenly committed suicide?" Constantine asked after listening to Angela's story, scrutinizing her carefully. "I've heard that twins often have a mysterious connection. Are you sure your sister didn't commit suicide because you sensed something?"

"No... no!" Angela quickly shook her head, her eyes flickering with uncertainty before she took a deep breath and replied, "I just don't believe my sister would take her own life without reason. I want to find out the truth."

"So, it seems your sister's death is related to the Hell dimension. And now, after her death, the Hell dimension has targeted you. This suggests there's something special about you. Do you truly not believe in the existence of spirits?" Constantine asked, his gaze making Angela uncomfortable.

"I've always been an atheist, but today I realized that demons and Hell truly exist..." Angela avoided Constantine's eyes, speaking in a low voice after a moment of silence.

"But the Avengers are widely known, and there have been many supernatural events. As a detective, you must be aware of them," Constantine pressed, his eyes narrowing as if he didn't fully believe Angela.

"The Avengers are just advanced scientific phenomena. Don't forget, Tony Stark, Iron Man, founded them!" Angela took a deep breath, trying to convince herself as she replied firmly, "These so-called supernatural events are just phenomena that science hasn't yet explained. As science advances, everything can be explained."

"And how do you explain what happened today? Are you waiting for science to catch up?" Constantine's mouth curled into a slight smirk as he pressed Angela further.

"Those were my old beliefs; I don't think that way anymore..." Angela mumbled, looking away from Constantine, her voice lacking confidence.

Seeing Angela's behavior, even Hellboy could guess she wasn't being entirely truthful. He suspected she was hiding something, possibly connected to why the Hell dimension demons were after her. Hellboy, realizing that Angela was now under Constantine's care, decided to let Constantine handle the situation. He chose to remain silent, quietly watching the unfolding events.

"Alright, I believe you," Constantine suddenly smiled, nodding at Angela. "Now, I have some important questions for you to consider."

"You... you can ask," Angela replied hesitantly.

"First, do you want to continue investigating your sister's death?" Constantine's smile made Angela uneasy, as if he had her cornered. "Second, do you want to know why the demons are after you? And finally, could it be that your sister is also targeted?"

"You..." Constantine's voice echoed in Angela's ears, resembling a devil's whisper, urging her to make a choice. Angela realized she had only one option, especially now that she was being targeted by demons.

"I want..." Angela nodded, looking at Constantine with determination. "I want to know the truth, no matter the cost!"

"That's the spirit!" Constantine smiled, looking at Angela like a fish caught in a net, unable to escape. "Soon, you might encounter things you've never faced before, but don't worry, I'll guide you and help you find the truth..."

Constantine glanced at Hellboy with satisfaction. Though Hellboy could no longer be used as bait to lure creatures from the Hell dimension, Angela, who was now targeted by demons, might prove even more promising!

"You..." Hellboy frowned, sensing Constantine's intentions. He instinctively wanted to stop Constantine, knowing that Angela, an ordinary person, would be easily lost or destroyed in the Hell dimension, a fate even he, a creature from Hell, sought to avoid.

"Don't worry, I'll take full precautions. Of course, if she makes a mistake, it won't be my fault," Constantine said with a smile, turning to Angela. "I will use your bloodline and soul bond to help you find your sister. She will speak to you herself."

"Find my sister? Where?" Angela asked, confusion evident in her eyes. Realizing what Constantine meant, her pupils contracted in shock. "You mean... in Hell?"

"That's right. Are you afraid? If so, you can choose not to pursue the truth. But remember, if you don't act, the demons will soon target you again," Constantine said casually.

"No! I'm not afraid! But... if Hell exists, then Heaven must exist too, right? If my sister didn't commit suicide, her soul might be in Heaven?" Angela asked hesitantly, a flicker of hope in her eyes.

"You're right, Heaven does exist, but it has its limits," Constantine nodded. "Heaven's holy light and divine power can restrain Hell's forces, but Heaven isn't as powerful as its teachings claim. It can't compete with Hell for souls..."

"In terms of overall power, Heaven is far from being able to compete with Hell. It's not much stronger than other divine dimensions or realms. So, whether your sister committed suicide or not, her soul should be in Hell."

"So, make your choice: will you go to Hell to see your sister and uncover the truth about her death?"

"I will!" Angela exhaled deeply, then inhaled sharply, her expression firm as she looked at Constantine. "Please, help me!"

"You'll need to rely on your own willpower. With just my guidance, you could easily get lost in the Hell dimension..." Constantine said, shaking his head as he formed magical gestures with his hands. Before Angela could react, he had drawn blood from her.

As Angela's consciousness began to fade, a portal to Hell formed beside her. Hellboy instinctively stepped back, not wanting to be pulled into Hell.

Hellboy watched with caution, noting how quickly Constantine had summoned the Hell gate, faster than many demons. It seemed almost routine for him, suggesting he'd done this many times, perhaps betraying others in secret...

On the other side, in the Hell dimension, Angela's soul found itself in a terrifying, unfamiliar landscape. Her soul felt extreme unease, sensing constant threats that made her feel as if her very essence could be torn apart at any moment. Angela stood frozen, unsure of what to do.

"Follow your instincts and find your sister. Based on my spell, you shouldn't be far apart. Be careful, though; if too many demons find you, I'll have to pull you back," Constantine's voice echoed, helping Angela focus on her task.

Angela's determination grew as she cautiously navigated the Hell dimension, guided by a vague sense of connection to her sister.

"Angela, why are you here? No! You shouldn't be here! Run! And be careful..." Angela's soul eventually found her sister, who appeared terrified and urgently warned her.

"Sister, I'm here to find out the truth..." Angela responded instinctively.

"The truth... you already know it. Since I faced all this alone, you were free. Why did you get involved again..." Her sister's expression shifted to sadness as she spoke softly.

"I already knew..." Angela froze, her mind reeling with the realization.
