Chapter 573: Chapter 573: The Dark Dimension's Decision

Faced with Grant's current state, Hercules couldn't immediately understand what had happened to him. However, seeing Grant as lifeless as a corpse, Hercules couldn't suppress the anger that rose within him.

With a sudden burst of force, Hercules caused Grant's body to explode, scattering blood and flesh everywhere. Even Serevis, who was also waiting for death, turned his head in surprise. He hadn't expected Grant to die before him.

However, as soon as Hercules exploded Grant's body, he realized that Grant couldn't die just yet. His expression changed, and he released a powerful energy that enveloped every piece of Grant's scattered flesh, gradually pulling them back together.

Under Hercules' power, Grant's body reassembled, but his aura remained extremely weak. Hercules wasn't benevolent enough to restore Grant's full strength.

What Hercules didn't anticipate was that even after being restored, Grant remained unchanged. Despite experiencing a brush with death, he continued to stand there, dazed and silent, showing no signs of recovery or enlightenment.

"What exactly did he go through?" Hercules was puzzled. When Serevis had returned earlier, he had been resigned to his fate and had given up all resistance. Grant's condition was even more severe—his spirit was dead, leaving only his body moving like a lifeless shell, which was worse than Serevis.

With a hum, Hercules extended his consciousness, just as he had done with Serevis, directly invading Grant's mind and memories to uncover what had transpired on Earth.

Hercules didn't believe that Earth or Robert was so terrifying that a single battle could break Grant's spirit entirely.

As Hercules delved into Grant's mind, Grant didn't resist. He stood there blankly, allowing Hercules to probe without any reaction.

Although Hercules found the battle scenes between Grant and Robert troublesome, it wasn't until he witnessed the tortures Grant endured that his own expression changed. He quickly withdrew from Grant's mind, but the memories of Grant's suffering lingered, leaving Hercules visibly shaken. The agony Grant had endured left a deep impression on him.

Understanding the depth of Grant's pain helped Hercules realize why Grant was in such a state. Even a brief experience of that pain had left Hercules with a psychological scar. Grant, having endured it for much longer, had naturally broken under the strain.

"How can there be such terrifying people on Earth?" Hercules wondered. When he created Morbius, he had secretly observed Earth. Despite the protection of the Ancient One and Kamar-Taj, he hadn't detected significant extraordinary powers. He had never paid much attention to them. But now, Earth had produced formidable beings like Clark and Robert, who could counter the Dark Dimension. Hercules couldn't ignore them.

The more he thought about it, the more he doubted his past decisions. Perhaps he should have acted earlier, capturing Morbius, Blade, and the Daywalker before they became too powerful.

Even now, Hercules pondered whether he should have descended with his full power to bring back Morbius and the others, despite the risks. He realized that the losses the Dark Dimension had suffered were far greater than he had anticipated.

With a hum, a terrifyingly powerful force began to rise within the Dark Dimension, causing almost every being to prostrate themselves in reverence, including a distracted Hercules.

The only exceptions were Serevis, who had resigned himself to his fate, and Grant, whose spirit was already broken. Grant remained unresponsive, disconnected from the outside world. Serevis, on the other hand, saw no reason to show respect, knowing it wouldn't change his impending death.

"What should I do? How did Earth become so terrifying? Will the lives of Grant and Serevis be enough to spare me from the Dark Lord's wrath?" Hercules' mind raced. He had anticipated the situation, but facing the Dark Lord's presence, he couldn't help but panic, especially under the Dark Lord's piercing gaze.

"Hercules, I've been informed that there has been progress?" The Dark Lord's voice echoed through the Dark Dimension, causing Hercules to tense up.

"Yes, my Lord. I'm sorry to disappoint you. We haven't been able to bring back those perfect experimental subjects, but we know their identities and whereabouts," Hercules replied, struggling to maintain his composure, his voice trembling.

"And what good is that? Can you bring them back now?" The Dark Lord interrupted, his tone impatient and laced with frustration.

"I..." Hercules opened his mouth, wanting to assert that he could bring back Morbius and the others, but the memory of Grant's torture stopped him. Fear of Clark and Robert's power made him falter.

"Useless!" The Dark Lord's anger shook the entire Dark Dimension, causing it to tremble violently.

Hercules found himself paralyzed, unable to move, as unbearable pain flooded his consciousness. The pain was as intense as what Grant had endured, overwhelming him completely.

Meanwhile, Grant and Serevis experienced similar agony. However, Grant, accustomed to such torment, found it more bearable than Serevis, who grimaced in pain.

With a hum, the tremors in the Dark Dimension subsided. As the other beings of the Dark Dimension sighed in relief, they noticed that Hercules, Grant, and Serevis had disappeared, filling them with dread.

"Those failures have been dealt with. From now on, I won't assign anyone specifically to this task. Instead, all of you are free to go to Earth. Whoever completes the task will receive my reward," the Dark Lord declared, his voice echoing through the Dark Dimension.

"You can work together or go alone. As long as you succeed, you'll be heroes of the Dark Dimension. But if you fail, you will no longer have a place here. I will restart the entire Dark Dimension, returning it to its original state and allowing it to evolve on its own," he continued.

"Yes, my Lord! We will not disappoint you!"

"We will not disappoint you, my Lord!"

The beings of the Dark Dimension trembled in fear at the Dark Lord's decree. They had underestimated the significance of the flaws in the Dark Dimension, thinking it was a minor issue. Now, they realized it was a matter of survival, not just for the Dark Dimension but for their own lives.

Considering rebelling against the Dark Lord out of fear was out of the question. The Dark Lord controlled everything in the Dark Dimension, including their lives and powers. He could reclaim their existence at a moment's notice, as he had with Hercules and the others.

Thus, the beings of the Dark Dimension quickly accepted their mission. As the Dark Lord's presence faded, they respectfully bade him farewell.

After a while, some of the stronger beings began to take action. Some preferred to work alone, while others formed groups. None of them underestimated Earth anymore. They knew that bringing back Morbius and the others was worth any cost, even if it meant sacrificing some of their own.

As the Dark Dimension's strongest began their preparations, information about Earth flooded their minds. They learned about the powers that had defeated Grant and Serevis, understanding the challenges ahead.

"It's no wonder they lost so badly. That power counteracts us!"

"Even without that counteracting power, that battle maniac is formidable. Does his strength have no limits?"

"And that Kryptonian, his power is terrifying. How can we win against someone so strong who also counters us?"

"Don't forget there's a female Kryptonian too. She's not as strong as the male, but she can also counter us. Are all Kryptonians our bane? And why are there so many on Earth? Have they made it their home?"

"Who knows? We need to find a way to divide their forces and deal with their counteracting powers. Otherwise, we'll never complete our task. None of us want to be wiped out for failing," one of the strategists said.

The beings of the Dark Dimension agreed, understanding the gravity of their mission. They prepared to face the formidable powers on Earth, determined to succeed and avoid their doom.
