Super system makes me a trillionaire

Chapter 162:The Bid_2

Expressions of bewilderment appeared on everyone's faces.

A direct increase of 10 million?

Everyone turned their heads all at once to see who could be so arrogant.

However, when they saw Jenny, all of them seemed to understand.

The Lawson family was a prominent and respectable family in Cartmel.

The daughter of the Lawson family was well known for her fondness for paintings, too. She would willingly spend a fortune on certain pieces of artwork.

That was why it was no surprise that she would bid an extra 10 million like that.

"Oh, it's Miss Lawson."

"That makes sense, but now that she had bid 70 million, that's probably the highest bid we will see today, right? After all, even if this artist becomes famous in the future, this painting's value will only rise to 100 million at most."

The way they saw it, a painting could only cost 100 million at most while its artist was still alive.

Only after the artist's death would its value rise to 200 or 300 million dollars.

"75 million!"

Just as everyone believed that 70 million was the limit, they heard a laidback voice from behind.

"Woah!"

"Is he insane? 75 million?"

"Who… is that? How can he be bold enough to compete with Miss Lawson?"

"Is that Stephen?"

Instantly, many people began exclaiming.

Stephen put down the bidding card in his hand.

Then, looking pleased with himself, he turned his gaze to Jenny.

His expression seemed a bit arrogant and provocative.

Niamh's expression remained calm as she watched this.

However, deep inside, she was already cackling.

Stephen had taken the bait!

"77 million!" Jenny clenched her teeth.

Then, the bidding continued.

"80 million!"

"83 million!"

"90 million!"

Stephen calmly stated, "Forget about getting this painting."

"You…!" Jenny gritted her teeth.

Her eyes were getting a bit bloodshot.

"Nine-" Jenny wanted to bid higher.

However, Niamh warned, "Stop bidding."

"But…"

"Have you forgotten what you have promised me at the beginning?" Niamh reminded calmly.

"Trust me, soon, he is going to regret buying the painting." She continued.

"Well… okay." Jenny gave a wry smile.

Although she didn't entirely agree with Niamh's words, she had made a promise to Niamh before the auction.

Thus, the auctioneer announced the results.

Stephen had won the Rhododendron painting.

As soon as the painting was in his hands, Stephen proudly approached the three people.

"Hmph! I told you that I wouldn't let you get your hands on this painting." He taunted.

Stephen's demeanor was full of conceit.

Jenny clenched her teeth, she was going crazy from anger because of Stephen.

"Stephen! You are crossing the line!"

"Crossing the line?" Stephen smirked coldly.

"Hmph! To be honest with you guys, I actually don't even like this painting! I just wanted to make sure that you wouldn't be able to get your hands on it. What are you going to do?" He continued.

The look on his face was full of haughtiness.

"You…" Rage seethed within Jenny's mind.

Her gaze at Stephen was murderous.

"You seem quite pleased with yourself right now, Mr. Rowland. However, in my opinion, this painting is not at all worth the price. In fact, it won't be long before its value depreciates significantly.' Bright calmly stated.

He was certain that he could create paintings of that level in large quantities.

In fact, he could paint far better ones.

Eventually, the painting's value would depreciate significantly.

"Depreciate? Haha! That's hilarious. Even though I don't understand this painting, I still know that it's a modern masterpiece. Are you dreaming?" Stephen taunted.

However, it was at that moment that they heard a series of voices echoing behind them.

"I never thought you would actually be here."

Everyone in the room turned their attention to the back.

They saw Edwin, who was hurrying over.

Just moments ago, Stephen had spent ninety million to buy the painting.

Out of curiosity, Edwin glanced over from the backstage and happened to spot Bright.

Immediately, he hurried over.

Ever since he offended Bright last time, he had always hoped he would get the chance to meet Bright face-to-face, so he could apologize properly.

Unfortunately, he never got the chance.

Coincidentally, he ran into him at this auction.

Meanwhile, Stephen's eyes instantly lit up.

He exclaimed, "Haha!"

Edwin looked at the approaching Stephen.

All he did was nod at Stephen with a smile before politely saying, "Congratulations, Mr. Rowland."

Then, he completely ignored Stephen and quickly approached Bright. "Mr. John! I had no idea you were coming. If I had, I would have welcomed you outside."

The moment he said that, everyone went quiet.

Mr. John…?

What was going on?

Jenny and Stephen were both dumbfounded.

Everyone else sported puzzled expressions as well.

The look on Niamh's face turned odd. She didn't expect that Edwin would be here.

Bright was the only one with an indifferent expression.

Right then, Stephen walked over.

With a stiff look on his face, he asked, "What's going on here? What right does this guy have to be addressed as 'Mr. John' by you? Didn't he just say-"

"Please watch your words, Mr. Rowland!" Edwin warned with a frown.

"No! This guy was spouting nonsense just now, he said that the value of the painting i bought will depreciate soon. The way I see it, anyone who says that, simply doesn't have any appreciation for art.

What right does someone like him have to be addressed so respectfully?" Stephen instantly argued.

Stephen instantly exclaimed out loud!

However, Edwin was extremely annoyed. "Enough, Mr. Rowland! Do you even know that the Rhododendron you just won inn the auction is the work of Mr. John?!"

Stephen was flabbergasted, and so was Jenny.

The Rhododendron was painted by Bright?

Was it really not a joke?

Jenny stared blankly at Bright, and her cheeks gradually turned red.

After all, she still clearly recalled how she had said that Bright wouldn't know a thing about art.

How could she have said that?

If a supreme master of painting didn't know a thing about art, then nobody else in the world would!

At the thought of that, Jenny wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it.
