Chapter 10: First Love! Gone!
The girl who had just given Leo the love letter was hiding behind a tree, secretly watching.
She wanted to know.
How would Chen Yang react to her letter?
She had been thinking about it for many days, and had finally gathered the courage to give it to him.
But when she saw Tony put his arm around Leo's shoulder and lead him out of the school, she grew nervous.
Those are the bad students. They're going to bully Chen Yang.
In her heart, Chen Yang was a beautiful boy. He was clean, spoke softly, and was gentle with others. Many of the girls said Chen Yang was a sissy and didn't like his type. They preferred someone like Tony, who gave them a sense of security and was always the center of attention.
She had argued with the other girls.
When others heard who their boyfriend was, how he was a tough fighter at school, and knew people from the outside, they would be terrified.
She hated these bad students the most.
School was a place for learning, a place that should be beautiful, not a place for bullying others.
In the alley.
Tony shoved Leo against the wall, his expression fierce. "You were pretty cocky just now, weren't you?"
After saying that, Tony lifted his foot and kicked Leo in the shin.
Leo's expression didn't change.
Tony's face, however, contorted in pain. His foot hurt a little, as if he had kicked a steel plate.
The other students around him snickered. One of them took out a pack of cigarettes and handed them out, blowing smoke rings. They didn't take Chen Yang seriously at all. To them, he was just a fish on a chopping block. Faced with them, the school's delinquents, would he dare to resist?
"Hand over all your money," Tony demanded.
"Money? You mean these pieces of paper?"
Leo pulled out the money from his pocket, a smile on his face. "If a classmate needs it, I have no objections. I'm happy to help others."
"Cut the crap! Who needs your help? We're robbing you! From now on, you'll come here every day and give us your money. If you miss a single day, you're dead," Tony snarled, grabbing Leo by the collar, his expression menacing.
He loved bullying others.
Seeing the fear on their faces gave him immense satisfaction.
"Stop!"
At that moment, a figure appeared at the entrance of the alley.
Fanny was terrified, but she still said bravely, "Why are you bullying a classmate? I'll tell the teacher!"
Tony tilted his head. "None of your business. Get lost."
One of the boys said, "Oh, isn't that Fanny from Class 6? The one who confessed to someone last time and got rejected."
Fanny shouted, "Chen Yang, come here! Let's go tell the teacher together!"
Leo looked at Fanny. It was the girl who had given him the love letter.
She's a very brave person.
Tony didn't want to bother with Fanny. He forcefully searched Leo's pockets and found the love letter Fanny had given him.
"Wow! A love letter! Someone actually gave Chen Yang a love letter. I want to see who it's from, and then I'll beat up Chen Yang right in front of her, so she can see how pathetic the guy she likes is when we're done with him."
"Fanny, hahaha... so you're Fanny. That means you wrote this letter. Let me read what it says."
This was what Tony loved to do most.
To build his own happiness on the suffering of others.
"Don't look!"
Fanny's eyes turned red with anger. It was a love letter she had written with great difficulty. It wasn't long, but she had spent a long time huddled under her covers, thinking about it before writing it down.
But her resistance only fueled Tony's desire to read it.
Click!
Leo grabbed Tony's wrist, his voice calm. "Classmate, you've gone too far. You can't do this."
"F--- you!" Tony tried to slap Leo.
But…
Thud!
Leo yanked him hard, slamming him against the wall. The force was so great that the back of Tony's head hit the wall, and he cried out in pain, clutching his head.
Everyone stared in disbelief at the scene before them.
It was as if they had seen a ghost.
"What are you standing there for? Get him!" Tony shouted.
The other students with Tony exchanged glances. The weak and timid Chen Yang had suddenly become so fierce, it was shocking.
Leo turned his head and looked at them coldly.
When they met Leo's gaze, they felt a pang of fear.
Leo raised his hand, clenched his fist, and threw a punch at Tony. Tony's eyes widened. He could feel the wind from the punch, and he squeezed his eyes shut in terror.
Boom!
A loud bang echoed in Tony's ear, and he felt a sharp pain. A piece of rubble had grazed his ear.
He opened his eyes.
He fearfully turned his head and saw that Leo had punched the wall.
The wall was slightly dented.
There were cracks around it.
"Classmate, your behavior is a bit excessive. If you continue like this, I will not be polite," Leo said calmly.
His fist was covered in blood. It was his own blood. A flesh-and-blood fist hitting a rough concrete wall would naturally get injured.
He let go of Tony, grabbed the corner of his shirt, and wiped the blood from his fist.
"Don't bully people anymore. Do you hear me?"
As Leo wiped the blood, his calm expression was somewhat unnerving, as if he weren't human. It was a feeling that sent a chill down your spine.
"I… I hear you," Tony stammered, clearly terrified of Leo.
He had never seen anyone who could dent a wall with a single punch.
If that punch had hit him in the face…
The thought of it was terrifying.
Leo gently patted Tony's face, a pleased smile on his face. "Good classmate. Go home and eat. Your family is waiting. Eat more, get some meat on your bones. You're a bit thin, and that's not good."
The other students with Tony looked at Leo in fear.
"Chen Yang, we won't do it again. See you later."
They scurried away.
They were just kids… they had never seen anything like this.
Tony also scrambled away.
Leo picked up the love letter from the ground and walked over to Fanny with a smile, extending his hand.
"Hello, classmate."
Fanny looked at Leo's face. His smile seemed to radiate light, like the sun, making her feel warm.
She took Leo's hand.
She had only one thought in her mind.
His palm is so warm.
His hand is so soft.
His fingers are so long and slender, his nails so clean. So, so beautiful.
How I wish I could hold a hand like this every day.
"Chen… Chen Yang, can you be my boyfriend? Although I'm not that great, I'll work hard. I'll definitely become as great as you. And I'll be very, very good to you. I'll listen to you in everything from now on."
Fanny gathered her courage and spoke the words she had hidden in her heart. Her face instantly flushed red. So embarrassing.
She peeked at Leo and saw that he was still smiling, as if she had seen a glimmer of hope.
"Chen Yang, can you?"
"I can't," Leo said with a smile.
Then he turned and walked towards the bus stop.
Crack!
The sound of something breaking.
Fanny felt her hopeful heart suddenly shatter, ruthlessly crushed by someone.
Sob…
Fanny squatted on the ground and cried.
First love!
Gone
