Strongest Level 1

Chapter 2: Gate in the snowy plains

Gerry a.k.a Grey found himself in a nearby resurrection altar in a nearby town where he died of explosion. That was he read about in the wikis and guides but he seems to be on another place again. He spawned in a village with cracks in it, he found himself at the snowy plains. He doesn't have proper clothing for the environment so he felt the coldness of the place. Grey asked a villager and he said that there are few adventurers that wander around the area and they haven't heard of players too.

He walked to a nearby inn to asked about the town, some kind npc gave him winter clothes. The inn has a nice atmosphere, despite with so little people, it has the warm feeling that you can only felt with your family.

The town was poor because the kingdom it belonged too doesn't care about it and abandoned them. The npcs in this world seems to be advance too like a normal human living in another world

He wandered around the village and luckily the village chief seems to have the question mark sign in him so its a quest. Grey looked at his quest window and there seems to be another one although its all question mark. It seems to have a condition to fulfill before revealing.

His quest is to clear some slimes and get their cores for the barrier of the town and if he can wants an additional reward he can also gather mana stones from stronger monster.

Apparently, in this world, towns have barriers around to protect theirselves from being attack by the monsters outside. The barriers can only be replenished using mana stones that monsters dropped when killed.

Grey wanders around the town to see if he could find where the slimes spawn. There it was, a bouncing ball with its blue color. The slimes always gathered around their own. Usually, you can see 12-20 slimes in one area but in rare cases there will be 20-49 slimes to hunt but after killing them a rare golden slime will spawn that has a high attack damage. Slimes could range from Lvl 2 to Lvl 5.

Gerry summoned his newbie's knife from the village chief. It boosted his agility by 2 and attack damage by 4. He ran around the area where the slimes at coming to siege them.

Grey jumps at the snow and roll around securing him 3 slimes. The slimes seems to elongated their body to attack and some will attack by bouncing their bodies to the assailant.

You killed a Lvl 3 slime. Exp earned 7. You can't level up!

You killed a Lvl 2 slime. Exp earned 4. You can't level up!

You killed a Lvl 3 slime. Exp earned 10. You can't level up!

It seems Grey really can't level up anymore and will stay at being level 1. But he was determined to be successful in this game.

After a while, he killed around 24 slimes by wandering around the area. He got a rare droop item called Slime's Necklace which boost his Vitality by 2.

Killing a hundred slimes is easy but the time to find them seems to take a toll in Grey's mind. Swinging his knife for a hundred times seems to make Grey's strength to add 1. It seems like he was not hopeless after all, he seems to be able to increase his strength by fulfilling condition though it's a hard path to take and its perilous. It was only effective at early levels because the conditions to increase stats by repetitive actions will increase each time it got achieved. That's what the wikis said where Gerry found it.

Evading hundred of attacks from enemies can increase agility by 1 too, after that it will be 200 and so with the others. It wil increase by 2 times each time.

As time passed by, Grey seems to fulfill the 100 mana stones to gather from the quest he got given by the village chief. The reward he will got will be 100xp, a map of the area, 20 copper coins, 5 breads, and a gate pass from the kingdom.

"It seems that the village chief is kind to adventurers with this kind of reward." Grey thought to himself.

"Looks like my stamina is depleting faster than I thought so I'll stop farming mana stones and will now walk back to the village." Grey lamented as he wants to farm more.

As he was walking back to the town and recovering his stamina he stumbled upon a gate.

In Earthisia, Gates also spawned while there are natural monsters outside there are Gates for the players to kill. NPC's can't see the gates. There are also dungeons but anyone can enter it. Gates seldom appeared it has like one in a ten thousand chance to appear and it was randomized.

Grey has entered the gate following by the afterglow effects. It was dark, as if he was in another place, soon mana lights started to light up the whole place. He was in a large cave, Trees can be seen too as well as a running stream of water could be heard.

"This game really defies expectation to another level." Grey excitedly exclaimed.

A whistling sound could be heard in the nearby bushes indicating an enemy is approaching. Grey hid in another bush and erased his tracks.

Two level 5 goblins showed up, followed by four level 3 wild boars. They seems to be running away from something big. A thud could be heard as if a mini earthquake came. A giant figure could be seen, it was a level 12 ogre. It was chasing the goblins.

"It looks like there are many forces around the gate and are hostile to each other." Grey concluded seemingly, he had another plan to conduct.

He planned to lure the ogre to an establishment built by the goblins.

A quest appeared in front of Grey.

Quest has arrived.(can be repeated)

Elimate 100 Goblins

Elimate 150 Wild Boars

Elimate 10 Ogres

Eliminate 1 Goblin Shaman

Rewards: 5 Middle-Rank Mana Stones, 2 silver and 50 copper coins, Tukatu's Necklace(Rare).

"Looks like the rewards from Gates are really generous, no wonder they are so rare." Grey happily accepted the quest.

At a certain distance near the river, 2 giant Ogres at the level of 12 and 13 seems to be eating wild boars. Grey picked up a stone and throw at them. He taunts them as he middle finger them. The Ogres got up and throw the corpses of the boars to him angrily, now he has to find where is a nearby Goblin Village is.

After running and dodging for a while, using trees he climbed to the top of if and he saw smoke. He now knew where the village is. The Ogres seems to be catching up to him so he climbed down the tree and is headed towards where the goblins are.

Two goblins seems to be guarding the entrance, so Grey taunt the Two goblins and it worked.

One goblin run inside the village indicating that it will call for reinforcements, the Ogres is getting nearer to him and he hid at the mud he made for preparations. The reinforcements from the Goblins seems to came and now the two forces fight.

The Ogres with their big club made from a tree swing it, eliminating four. Grey thought of a theory and wants to test it so he throws stones at the ones who was about to be eliminated by the Ogres and it works, he got the xp's and the quest updated.

Quest.(can be repeated)

Elimate 1/100 Goblins

Elimate 8/150 Wild Boars

Elimate 0/10 Ogres

Eliminate 0/1 Goblin Shaman

Rewards: 5 Middle-Rank Mana Stones, 2 silver and 50 copper coins, Tukatu's Necklace(Rare).

The fight will be a lot longer than he thought so he wants to lure more ogres to massacre the village. But an ominous signs came as if his instinct warned him, then it came. A goblin taller than other wearing a voodoo mask and staff made with bones.

It muttered something, so Grey knew that it was preparing for a magic spell. Grey throws the stones at the Ogres indicating that he damages them. A giant black fireball came to view hitting the Ogres. Only the ashes remained.

The shaman assigned a new guard at the village and return to his own home. Looks like it was more dangerous than he thought but nothing can stop him from grinding. After getting up from the mud, he got the mana stones of the Ogres and stored it in his inventory.

As Grey was about to lure the Ogres to the village a warning came to him.

Warning! Outside interference has been detected!

Would you like to log out?

Yes. No.

Grey hits the Yes button and logged out. As he was getting his helmet out, his sister Lila came to view.

"Big brother, our dinner is ready. I've already ate so eat yours too after you play, I had to study now." Lila said as if she was complaining to Gerry.

"Sure, my cute little sister. I had to finish first my mission before I eat." Gerry replied as he puts his helmet on.

Grey logged back in, as he planned before he did the luring strategy method making his quest a lot easier.

Quest.(can be repeated)

Elimate 89/100 Goblins

Elimate 136/150 Wild Boars

Elimate 7/10 Ogres

Eliminate 0/1 Goblin Shaman

Rewards: 5 Middle-Rank Mana Stones, 2 silver and 50 copper coins, Tukatu's Necklace(Rare).

"A few more times then I'm done with the quest. But how can I defeat this Shaman." Grey thought to himself.

After defeating a hundred goblins, a message appeared.

Achievement Unlocked: Goblin Slayer

Effect: +2 Hostility with Goblins.

Grey couldn't help but grin, though the increase in hostility made his next hunts even more perilous. The goblins, now filled with fury, attacked him with increased coordination. Still, the rewards didn't end there.

Barely Acknowledgment from the Ancient One

Effect: +20 to all stats.

Quest Unlocked: Trials by the Ancient One

Objective: Slay 100 Goblin Shamans.

Reward: A privilege granted only to the cursed. (Unique to 1 player.)

The quest description was vague, but its significance was clear. The Ancient One, the enigmatic entity tied to Grey's curse, seemed to harbor a particular hatred for goblins or it was a condition for something that greater. Whatever the privilege was, it was unique and only one player in all of Earthisia could claim it.

And soon, only the goblin shaman remained in his quest, He had to came up of a plan to defeat the boss

Grey's excitement was palpable as he turned his attention back to the goblin shaman boss. The Shaman, wearing its voodoo mask with crude tribal robes and wielding a glowing staff, seemed even more imposing now. Grey approached cautiously, staying out of its line of sight. It was now a fight that he couldn't afford to lose.

Grey crouched behind a jagged boulder near the center of the gate, his sharp eyes locked onto the Goblin Shaman. The creature stood tall for a goblin, its staff glowing ominously with a green light. Around its gnarled neck hung bone trinkets that jingled softly in the wind. The eerie chanting of the Shaman filled the air, its guttural tones vibrating with malice.

The Shaman raised its staff, summoning a faint black mist that swirled around it. Grey's grip tightened on his dagger. This wasn't an ordinary goblin. Its aura alone felt suffocating, and Grey could feel the malice radiating from the creature.

With a deep breath, he sprinted forward.

Grey darted toward the Shaman, zigzagging to avoid detection. As he closed the distance, the Shaman's chanting stopped abruptly, and its glowing red eyes locked onto him.

"Graaahhh!" it bellowed, slamming its staff into the ground. A shockwave of green energy rippled outward, forcing Grey to dive to the side. The wave obliterated the spot he had just been in, leaving charred earth behind.

Grey rolled to his feet and charged again. This time, he feinted left before leaping right, his dagger flashing in the dim light. He slashed at the Shaman's side, landing a shallow cut. The creature hissed in pain but didn't falter.

Raising its staff high, the Shaman conjured a **black fireball**, its surface rippling with trapped, anguished faces. Grey's heart pounded as the fireball hovered menacingly above the Shaman's head.

The Shaman hurled the fireball with a guttural roar. Grey barely had time to react as the projectile screamed toward him, the ghostly faces within wailing in torment. He dived to the ground, feeling the heat sear past his back as the fireball smashed into a nearby tree, disintegrating it into ash.

The explosion sent a wave of scorching wind that knocked Grey off balance. The smell of burning wood and death filled the air, and for a moment, Grey's vision blurred.

The Shaman pressed its advantage, charging forward with surprising speed. Grey rolled to his feet just in time to see the staff descending toward him. He raised his dagger, deflecting the blow, but the force sent him skidding backward.

Grey knew he couldn't win in a prolonged exchange. The Shaman's firepower and endurance far outmatched his own. He needed to exploit its patterns and weaknesses.

As the Shaman prepared another fireball, Grey dashed forward, closing the gap before the spell could fully form. He slashed upward, aiming for the creature's arm. The blade connected, and the Shaman howled as its concentration broke, the half-formed fireball dissipating into smoke.

Grey didn't stop. He ducked under a wild swing of the staff and stabbed at the Shaman's leg. The blade bit deep, and the creature staggered, green blood seeping from its wounds.

But the Shaman wasn't finished.

With a snarl, the Shaman slammed its staff into the ground. A glowing green sigil spread beneath its feet, and two spectral goblins rose from the earth. Their translucent forms flickered like dying flames, but their weapons looked solid enough.

Grey cursed under his breath. "Of course it can summon."

The spectral goblins lunged at him in unison. Grey ducked and weaved between their attacks, his dagger flashing as he slashed at their incorporeal bodies. They dissolved after a few strikes, but their presence had bought the Shaman time.

The creature raised its staff again, and Grey's stomach sank as another black fireball formed, this one even larger than before.

The fireball screamed as it launched, the anguished faces within twisting in silent agony. Grey sprinted, zigzagging to avoid the blast. At the last second, he leaped into the air, the fireball detonating behind him. The force hurled him forward, and he hit the ground hard, rolling to absorb the impact.

His HP bar had dropped dangerously low. One more hit like that, and he'd be finished.

The Shaman approached, confident in its victory. It raised its staff for a finishing blow, but Grey wasn't done yet.

Using the last of his stamina, he sprang to his feet and lunged forward. The Shaman swung its staff in a wide arc, but Grey ducked under it and drove his dagger into the creature's chest.

The Shaman roared, its glowing eyes dimming as it staggered backward. Grey twisted the blade and pulled it free, green blood spraying across the ground. The creature collapsed to its knees, its staff clattering to the ground.

Grey didn't hesitate. He circled around the weakened Shaman and plunged his dagger into the back of its neck. The creature let out one final, guttural scream before its body dissolved into particles of light.

A notification window appeared before him:

Boss Respawn Time: 2 Hours.

Grey collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily. His hands were trembling, and his body ached from the strain. But he couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. He had done it, he had slain the Shaman.

As the adrenaline faded, Grey's mind turned to the challenge ahead. He would have to kill the Shaman 99 more times to complete the quest. It would be grueling, but if he had proven one thing today, it was that he could rise to any challenge.

With a weary sigh, Grey made his way back to the gate's starting point, ready to rest and plan his next move.

Gerry logged out, he went to the kitchen to eat what his sister's cooked for him, it was an egg omelette.

He was excited, only 99 more times to defeat the Shaman and he will be awarded by some mysterious privilege. Tomorrow, he will grind in that gate. He can't leave the gate because it will disappear forever. It was already midnight after finishing his meal.

He had to take his sleep first.
