STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 320: Lunchtime discussion

Shadow Moon Organisation:

The following day,

After getting ready, Jeremy walks out of the room. He is dressed in the white uniform with the half-moon insignia. He is looking forward to the day today.

He then starts walking toward the first floor. On the way, he encounters the curious gazes of people. Jeremy thinks that people should have known his identity by now.

But none of them block his path or speak to him. Soon, he reaches the first floor, where he sees people coming and going. Everyone is minding their own business.

None of them have time to stop and observe. He then approaches the sofa and sits on it.

In the meantime, someone in the office sees him. The person immediately alerts others, including Elina, who gave him the kits a few days ago.

"He is here?" Elina utters in surprise.

"Yes, it's him," a middle-aged man says. He is the one who saw him.

"I thought the newcomer would stay in his room forever," a female staff member says.

"We will know soon whether this kid is as strong as they say," the middle-aged man remarks.

Not only is the discussion happening here, but everyone who saw and recognized Jeremy Night is discussing it with their colleagues.

Meanwhile,

Gisela Reyes arrives in front of the building. Then she walks inside. Her gaze immediately falls on Jeremy Night sitting on the couch. Her mouth curves into an arc.

She walks up to Jeremy Night.

"It's good you are ready. Follow me; I'm going to show you around the important places. Later, if we had time we would go to the wilderness," Gisela says.

Jeremy stands up and nods to her. Then he follows her to the exit. This is seen by the staff members and other people who are curious to know what's going to happen.

Outside,

Gisela enters her flying car and asks Jeremy to sit in the back seat.

Swoosh!

Shortly afterward, the car hovers above the ground. She starts driving. Soon, they are outside the area of the Shadow Moon Organisation.

First, she begins to show him around the eastern area of the city. The Shadow Moon Organisation is located in the eastern area. She informs him about the small and big organizations in this area.

Time passes,

Jeremy is shocked in his heart. It has been two hours since they left the organisation, but they are still going around the eastern part because the city landmass is too big. There are still places to explore.

Other than that, he is surprised to learn that there are too many mercenary organisations here.

An hour later,

They decide to grab lunch. She lands her car in front of a big restaurant. Then he steps out of the car.

"Gwen's Table"

"It's one of the big restaurants where you can only find mercenaries," Gisela says.

"Oh," he utters.

He raises his head and sees the multi-storey glass building.

Then he follows her inside the building. The next second, he is greeted by the noise and a large number of people dining in.

He then follows Gisela to the elevator. On the way, Gisela encounters some acquaintances. They nod to each other. Those people can't help but spare a glance at him as well.

Almost everyone knows that the Shadow Moon Organisation has a new member. Now they are surprised to see that the newcomer is following Gisela Reyes.

From this, they can infer that the newcomer belongs to the 10th Team. Gisela has her own friends and enemies, and they will be surprised by the news.

Soon, they arrive at the 3rd floor via the elevator. Here, there are more private rooms. Gisela enters one of them.

Jeremy walks into the room as well. Gisela sits in the chair, and he sits opposite her.

Shortly afterward,

The staff arrives to take their order. Gisela orders beast meat for both of them. When the staff leaves, she raises her head and looks at Jeremy.

"Since I'm taking you around with me, soon people will know that you are on my team," she says.

Jeremy raises his eyebrows in surprise. He has been wanting to ask this but never found the right time.

So now he asks, "Leader, what about the other team members?"

Gisela's eyes flash with approval. She thought this kid was not interested in the team, but he finally asked her.

On the other hand, Jeremy is curious. It's not that he doesn't know; during the past few days, he has done some digging.

But the number of members in each team varies from time to time. There is no fixed number of slots.

"We used to have a fixed team slot, but it changes during emergency periods such as beast attacks or other disasters," she says.

"Right now, the Shadow Moon Organisation has 10 teams. Each team has three ten-person squads. The first squad is made up of 10 Tier-5 Beast Tamers."

"The second squad consists of 10 Tier-4 Beast Tamers. The third squad is made up of 10 Tier-3 Beast Tamers." After saying this, she pauses.

"My third squad lacks a 10th member. The previous 10th member was killed," she adds with a cold glint in her eyes.

Jeremy is not very surprised. He knew this because of his research. Now that he has received confirmation from her, his doubts are cleared.

He knows the Shadow Moon Organisation has fewer members. Right now, the total active beast tamers are up to 300, including him.

Gisela then says, "Each squad has a team. I'll introduce you to your team leader later. You might face some difficulties because they are all Tier-3 Beast Tamers."

"You have just become a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. They may not be willing to accept you unless you show them your strength," she adds.

"Don't worry, leader. I have done it before by killing Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts. I will do it again," he replies.

Then the staff walks into the room carrying a flat plate.

They stop talking and get ready to eat. The staff is not clueless; he recognizes the two people as well. His heart is thrilled.

Back in the kitchen, everyone is curious to know. Now he has again confirmed their faces.

A few minutes later,

The staff left after arranging the plates, but the discussion continued.

Gisela said, "Soon, there will be a mission for the 3rd squad. You will be called for the mission at any time. Be ready."

Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to her. Then he suddenly thought of something important: he lacks skills. His previous "Triple Rapid Cuts" technique is not enough.

He needs more than one skill in his arsenal.

He asked, "Leader, I need blade or sword techniques, especially one that suits my single sharp-edged blade."

Gisela's eyes flickered. Not many beast tamers fight using weapons unless their talent is related to that.

"What's your attribute?" she asked.

She knows Jeremy Night uses lifeline beast abilities.

"My element is different. Even I don't know exactly what it is," Jeremy replied.

Gisela was surprised since Jeremy has set conditions in the contract. She doesn't want to discuss his lifeline beast.

"Alright, since you already have some kind of element, you can practice fast blade techniques. I'll pick one for you later."

"Do you have a movement technique?" she asked.

"I do have a movement technique. I can practice it up to Tier 3," Jeremy replied.

"Good," she uttered and focused on her food.

Jeremy sighed inwardly. Not only does he have starlight ability, but he also has some eyesight ability. He doesn't know whether there are any eye techniques available here.

He had already exposed his cards. He doesn't want to expose his eye ability as well.

Soon, they finished their food on the plate. Then they stood up to leave. Gisela still has places to show him around, for example, the western part.

Tomorrow, she will show him around the northern and southern parts.

Ten minutes later,

They walked out of the restaurant after paying the bill. At this time, Jeremy had no doubt that Leader Gisela's acquaintance had taken notice of him.

Then he entered her flying car.

Shortly afterwards,

She started driving the car towards the western part.

"Now we are going to the western area. It's also the base of the Sun Wheel Organization. I told you earlier that we are rivals."

"If I'm not wrong, they might have already marked you on their killing list," she said in a serious tone.

"What?" Jeremy blurted out in surprise.

It was not on his list at all. He hadn't done anything; how could he be on someone else's killing list?

Gisela shook her head before saying, "Did you already forget Head Neil's words?"

"Here, everyone fights for resources because everyone has to practice and feed their lifeline beasts. You came with the same intention as well."

"So the competition here is severe. The rival organization wants to eliminate each other. It's better for you to accept the reality here and not let down your guard," she said in a serious tone while driving.

Hearing that, Jeremy replied, "Okay."

But his heart was not calm. The same situation is repeating, but this time it involves open threats. Everyone knows about their enemy. He hopes they don't cross his path.

He won't mind killing enemies; he has done it before.
