Stranger Danger

The Ghost Dragon Boat was about to be pulled into the whirlpool when suddenly, the seawater behind Ye Qing stirred unnaturally. The next moment, the dark red seawater was replaced by milky white ink, and tentacles covered in ghost faces burst out of it and attacked Ye Qing.

It was the White Jade Poison Toad and the Ghostface Demon Squid.

The milky white seawater was the White Jade Poison Toad's poison, and the tentacles belonged to the Ghostface demon Squid.

Ye Qing did not move his right hand. Instead, he clenched his left fist and smashed downward like he was striking a drum.

Thump!

The seawater within several hundred meters around him shook violently, and both Strangers found themselves sinking rapidly toward the bottom of the sea at high speed. The White Jade Poison Toad's body was cracked all over, and the Ghostface Demon Squid's tentacles were all broken. They looked terrible.

The two Strangers could not seem to feel their injuries, however. Howling, they charged Ye Qing once more while rapidly swelling in size. Destructive, terrible energies were leaking out of their bodies.

KABOOOOOOOOM!!!

There was a tremendous explosion, and every drop of seawater and every wisp of demonic fire within a 2 or 3-kilometer radius evaporated into nothing.

For a moment, the affected sea region was completely silent. There was only chaos and destruction.

A few breaths later, wisps of profound light peeked out of the area, returning order to chaos, and life to death. Then, a silhouette stepped out of it.

It was none other than Ye Qing.

Ye Qing was shining with profound light right now. Not a scratch could be found on his person. The White Jade Poison Toad and the Ghostface Demon Squid's self-destructions were scary, but they could not really threaten him.

Unfortunately, the Ghost Dragon Boat managed to escape from him.

He was going to capture the Ghost Dragon Boat and give it a thorough inspection, but the two Strangers' suicidal attacks gave it the opportunity it needed to escape.

Of course, he could track it down if he wanted to. He had left behind a wisp of demonic thought on it after all. He could even track it all the way to the ends of the earth.

It was unnecessary though. The demonic fire was rampaging right now, and the Ghost Dragon Boat was escaping toward the sea region where the demonic fire burned the strongest. He could still capture the Ghost Dragon Boat, but it would certainly cost him a lot of energy.

Besides, the crisis was still ongoing. No one could say what was going to happen next. Preserving his strength was clearly the wisest option here.

Also, he had a feeling that he and the Ghost Dragon Boat would meet again very soon. So, there was no need to rush.

Very soon, after the Ghost Dragon Boat escaped out of his perception range, Ye Qing withdrew his demonic thought and reappeared on the sea surface.

Feng Qingyou's battle against the Strangers had come to an end as well.

The Strangers were no match for her to begin with, and the White Jade Poison Toad and Ghostface Demon Squid went away afterward. Naturally, Feng Qingyou was able to seize the opening and kill them all.

"I sensed the Ghost Dragon Boat's presence just now. What happened?" Feng Qingyou asked softly after moving to Ye Qing's side.

"The Strangers attacking you were really controlled by the Ghost Dragon Boat." Ye Qing proceeded to tell her his experiences and theories.

Feng Qingyou was silent for a few breaths after Ye Qing was done talking. Then, a smile slowly spread across her lips. "The Ghost Dragon Boat can control the demonic fire and the demonic monsters? How interesting!"

"You were trying to capture it just now, weren't you?"

"Yep." Ye Qing shrugged. "Unfortunately, it managed to escape me."

Feng Qingyou smiled. "It's fine. The Ghost Dragon Boat is extremely vengeful. I'm sure we'll meet again soon."

"I think so too." Ye Qing grinned. The next time they met, the Ghost Dragon Boat wouldn't be going anywhere.

"Let's return to Gold Island and see if there's anything else we can help with."

Feng Qingyou said, and they both looked at the demonic fire still spreading fiercely in every direction. A bit of gravity crept into their faces as they turned around and flew toward Gold Island.

Standing at the top of a tall beach tower of Gold Island, Jin Manshan was staring at the skies that had been dyed red by demonic fire with a grave expression on his face.

Right now, Gold Island was extremely busy and chaotic. The refugees were everywhere, and more vessels were approaching Gold Island from the sea.

A lot of areas were affected by the Sea Burning Demonic Fire, and Gold Island was the only larger island within thousands and thousands of kilometers. Because of this, most people were forced to sail here and take refuge.

Jin Manshan could not ignore their plight, of course. He accepted them all.

Forget that it was natural for humans to help humans, a great calamity like the Sea Burning Demonic Fire could only be overcome if everyone was working together. Not only that, many of these people were rescued by Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou. That alone was enough to snuff out any ruthless thought that might have taken root inside his mind.

Of course, as more and more people entered Gold Island, chaos and overcrowdedness increased as well.

After all, where there were people, there were incidents, and the more people there were, the likelier it was for an incident to happen.

If the scale of the outbreak was small, or if the duration was short enough that Gold Island wasn't affected by it, then that would be the best case scenario. Even if Gold Island was affected, they should be able to outlast the calamity with their resources and Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou's power. The Profound Alliance might not even need to intervene.

But if the scale and duration of the outbreak was large, if multiple regions were besieged at the same time, then it would be a completely different story. For starters, they could not count on the Profound Alliance to send reinforcements. They would be too busy defending themselves, meaning that they could only rely on themselves to survive this crisis.

But how long could they last on their own, really? Even with Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou's help?

Worst case scenario, Gold Island could be destroyed, and every living creature on it would suffer a gruesome fate!

The only thing he could do now was to pray.

He could only pray that the scale and duration of this outbreak would be small.

"Island Lord Jin..." It was at this moment he heard Ye Qing's voice. When he subconsciously turned his head, he discovered that Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou were standing next to him.

"Warrior Ye, Miss Feng!"

Jin Manshan hurriedly saluted them before asking, "Thank you for your hard work. You haven't encountered any danger, have you?"

"We're fine." Ye Qing nodded and motioned for Jin Manshan to save the pleasantries before asking directly, "Have you contacted the Profound Alliance yet? What is their response?"

Jin Manshan answered, "I've already asked my wife to contact them. She should have a response for us very soon."

They had a method to contact the headquarters of the Profound Alliance, of course. Earlier, he already asked Ming Yueying to contact them and inquire about the scale of this incident. He wished to know if this outbreak was only affecting Gold Island, or if other regions were experiencing outbreaks as well.
