Chapter 80: Chapter 80
At this moment, Sirzechs, Serafall, Azazel, Michael everyone present looked to the sky, focusing their attention on Riku and the White Dragon Emperor, Vali.
"This fight… I've been looking forward to it for a long time," Vali said, locking his eyes on Riku with a deep voice.
"As the descendant of the original Lucifer, it's only natural for you to challenge God," Riku said as he gazed at Vali.
Vali is a descendant of the Lucifer family!?
Everyone was momentarily stunned by this revelation.
"So you saw through it again. It feels like I have no secrets in your eyes." Vali gave a wry smile, then admitted, "That's right, my real name is Vali Lucifer."
"I am the child of the previous generation's Lucifer's grandson and a human mother. It's because I have half-human blood that I could inherit the [White Dragon]. It was just a coincidence, but someone who is both the true heir of Lucifer and the possessor of the [White Dragon] was born. If destiny and miracles exist, maybe they refer to me—"
As he spoke, behind Vali's brilliant white dragon wings, pitch-black devil wings suddenly unfurled.
"This is reality. Not only does Vali possess a dangerous Longinus, his own bloodline and power are unrivalled by anyone else." Azazel said with a bitter smile.
"But Vali, this time, you're destined to lose." Azazel then glanced at Riku with regret. If not for Riku's existence, Vali would have become the strongest White Dragon Emperor. Unfortunately, Riku had appeared.
Riku's existence simply suppressed all others.
"Heh, I always thought I was the embodiment of miracles, but to think there's someone even more miraculous than me." Vali's voice grew more feverish as he spoke. "But that only excites me more!"
"As a warrior, you are qualified. Unfortunately, rigidity leads to ruin." Riku spoke calmly. "Let me see just how strong your resolve is. I advise you: you'd better use Juggernaut Drive; otherwise, you'll only die here." As Riku spoke, a terrifying aura burst forth, making the barrier maintained by Serafall, Michael, and Azazel tremble violently.
"—!" Feeling this pressure, Vali's body instinctively trembled.
"So be it, just as you wish!" Vali's eyes narrowed as he spoke solemnly.
A burst of evil, chilling, slaughter-filled, and other negative energy suddenly erupted from Vali.
He's actually going straight to Juggernaut Drive… This is reckless…
Azazel watched Vali with a slight, bitter smile. Even if Vali was a genius who could temporarily substitute magical power for his life force, it's not something easily endured. Juggernaut Drive is just that outrageous a power.
Still, it was the correct choice. After all, his opponent was the demon god who surpassed even the Two Heavenly Dragons.
Azazel let out a sigh.
Compared to Azazel's anxiety and Michael's helplessness, Sirzechs and Serafall were much calmer. Juggernaut Drive was strong, but still far below Riku. "Still, not a bad resolve," Riku nodded, his eyes showing approval for Vali.
Suddenly, a sinister incantation erupted from Vali, echoing across the sky.
I, who shall awaken,
I am the Twin Heavenly Dragon who has been deprived of everything by the principle of domination.
Jealous of the dream, I seek the infinite.
White Dragon Emperor, Juggernaut Drive!
I will become the ultimate white dragon,
And I invite you into the immaculate extremes!
"AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!" As soon as the chant ended, Vali let out a beastly roar, as if he were in agony, while the negative emotions gnawed at his reason.
But in return, his power skyrocketed. His armour transformed, turning him into a humanoid white dragon. The sheer force even rivalled Sirzechs's "Super Devil" form, and the space itself shook and trembled under the impact.
Down below, everyone's faces changed. Rias and the others, who had just saved Gasper, went pale and felt a wave of discomfort, looking up in shock at the sky.
Seeing this, Riku frowned slightly and immediately cast a protective spell around Rias and the others.
"Let's begin a battle with everything on the line." Vali's raspy voice sounded.
With that, Vali suddenly vanished, turning into a white beam of light that shot toward Riku, his body swirling with violent, cursed dragon power, as he threw a punch at Riku.
Even with the powerful barrier, space began to collapse and grow unstable.
Boom—!
Riku threw out a punch, shaking the space, colliding directly with Vali. In an instant, a storm of wild power erupted in the sky, rending cracks in space, turning the air into rippling waves of white mist that blasted outward, the pressure alone could have crushed a person to pulp.
BOOM—! The next moment, under Azazel's shocked gaze, Vali in Juggernaut Drive was sent flying by a single punch, slamming into the barrier and leaving a massive crack that could shatter at any moment.
Vali's arm hung limp, his dragon armour shattered, blood pouring out.
Just one punch, and Vali was seriously injured…
Azazel's face twitched in disbelief. The power of Vali's Juggernaut Drive was already close to the level of the Two Heavenly Dragons, and he had expected a cataclysmic battle. Instead, Vali was completely overwhelmed.
Everyone present was left speechless.
"ROAAAAR—!" At this moment, Vali let out an inhuman roar, the curse on his body surging even more fiercely as his power grew again.
"Still not giving up? Not bad willpower… But I warned you: making me your target will only bring you despair." Riku looked at Vali, speaking calmly.
Vali did not reply; instead, he threw himself at Riku again, proving his resolve with his actions.
At the same time, his now-draconic mouth was gathering a wildly intense white energy.
The next instant, a wave of power strong enough to annihilate heaven and earth blasted toward Riku in the form of a light cannon, tearing and fracturing space along its path.
"Hirudora," Riku spoke dispassionately, punching out.
In a flash, his destructive magic gathered into the shape of a giant crimson tiger, clashing fiercely with Vali's dragon breath.
A red tiger and a white dragon's breath collided, and in that moment, the entire area grew unimaginably heavy. The core area saw space collapse on a grand scale. The barrier was covered in web-like cracks. If it broke, these two raging energies would definitely obliterate the outside world!
The terrifying collision in the sky caused even Sirzechs's face to change, and he hurried to help maintain the barrier.
The next instant, the crimson Destruction Tiger instantly obliterated the White Dragon's breath, tearing straight through it.
In response, Vali, with the last sliver of reason remaining, used all his might to dodge.
But it was too late. The tiger's speed and size made it impossible to evade, especially in such a confined barrier.
BOOM—!
In a split second, Vali was swallowed by the Crimson Tiger. A devastating explosion swept the area, shaking the heavens. In less than a thousandth of a second, Kuoh Academy was utterly annihilated, leaving only a bottomless crater.
As for the barrier that Sirzechs, Serafall, Azazel, and Michael were sustaining with all their might, it was now covered in massive cracks, threatening to collapse at any moment.
A few seconds later, as the smoke cleared, the results in the sky became visible to all.
Vali's entire body was wrecked, almost unrecognisable as human, his previously majestic form gone. Even his Juggernaut Drive had been forcibly dispelled, and his face was as pale as death, his aura so weak he was barely alive. He had been wounded to the core.
Even if he recovered, he would never return to his peak, and would likely regress; advancement was out of the question.
Riku, meanwhile, still floated calmly in the air, his sleeves not even ruffled. The difference in power was unmistakable.
Seeing this, Azazel, who had been feeling exhausted just from blocking the aftershocks, fell silent.
"Sigh... Even Juggernaut Drive couldn't stand a chance. Lord Riku's power really is just unfair," Azazel said with a wry smile. Vali's fate was sealed. He made his choice and now had to face the consequences.
"Actually, Azazel, this wasn't even Lord Riku's full strength. He only used a tiny fraction," Serafall couldn't help but add.
"Yeah... and from what I can tell, Lord Riku is much stronger than before," Sirzechs said with a bitter smile.
Back in the Underworld, when he used Destruction Mode(Super Devil form) and reached the level of a Super Devil, he might have been able to rival Juggernaut Drive Vali or maybe just barely. Back then, he could last a few rounds against an earnest Riku.
But now, even with everything he had, Juggernaut Drive Vali had been completely crushed, unable to fight back at all. Clearly, even without using his most terrifying trump cards, Riku was still holding back considerably.
How long has it even been since then? This growth rate is absurd, unheard of throughout history.
Hearing this, Michael couldn't help but feel relieved. Thank goodness they, as angels, had promptly submitted. Otherwise, they would probably have suffered a similar fate.
With this thought, Sirzechs, Serafall, Michael, and Azazel exchanged knowing glances. At this rate, the world really might end up conquered by Lord Riku.
Such an unprecedented, perhaps never to be seen again feat, they might actually witness this historical moment.
As for Rias and the other girls, they had been protected by Riku's barriers and so were much less exhausted than Sirzechs and the others. Wide-eyed, they gazed at Riku floating above the sky, radiating a majestic, almost transcendent presence, and couldn't help but feel their hearts race.
"Cough... I lost," the White Dragon Emperor Vali coughed up blood, staring hard at Riku. The fighting spirit in his eyes was now gone, replaced only by despair.
Vali had thought that even if Juggernaut Drive couldn't win, he could at least retreat safely. Clearly, he was too optimistic.
"This... can't even be called a fight," Vali finally managed to say what everyone was thinking. A battle is only a battle if both sides are somewhat evenly matched. This wasn't a fight at all; it was pure one-sided domination.
"Before I die, I want to know: how much power did you actually use?" Vali stared at Riku, his voice weak.
This made everyone tense up, turning their gaze to Riku.
"I used less than one per thousand of my strength," Riku replied calmly.
"Less than... one per thousand...?" Vali was silent. Everyone present was silent, staring blankly at Riku.
The world's strongest, whose power had terrified all, the Infinite Dragon God, was indeed powerful, but not to the point of absolute despair. Roughly estimated, she was maybe ten times stronger than the Two Heavenly Dragons.
But Riku was a thousand times stronger than the Two Heavenly Dragons... What kind of number was that? And from the look on Riku's face, he might even be downplaying it...
"Haha... Hahaha... How ridiculous." Vali looked dazed, then let out a self-deprecating laugh. "To think I arrogantly took you as my goal. How laughable."
His words, full of self-mockery and despair, left everyone silent again.
Riku was simply too strong. Strong enough to make everyone lose hope. In front of him, what did a God mean? What did the Two Heavenly Dragons or the Biblical God mean? Even Ophis and the True Red Dragon God Emperor were nothing but ants to be squashed.
Is this kind of power really something a human can achieve?
Even Sirzechs, Serafall, Azazel, and Michael, who were all known for their composure, felt their worldview begin to crumble.
"What a laughable life..." Vali muttered weakly. As he spoke, his life force ebbed away, and he fell from the sky, the self-mockery still visible on his face.
With a flick of Riku's power, Vali's corpse was drawn over to him. He retrieved the Divine Dividing wings, which had tried to find a new host, and tossed them into his system's storage.
"Azazel, take care of Vali's body. Give him a proper burial," Riku then said, transferring Vali's corpse before Azazel.
"Ah... Okay." Azazel stared at Vali's body in a daze, then nodded with a complicated expression. "Thank you, Lord Riku."
"It's about time to bring this farce to a complete close," Riku said as he looked down at the crater that was once Kuoh Academy, his voice brimming with authority. "Monkey who's been spying on us, are you still planning to run after coming all this way?"
With these words, everyone was stunned, following Riku's gaze downward, yet there was still no one visible, leaving them puzzled.
At that very moment, deep beneath the earth, a young man clad in ancient armour was pale-faced, sweating coldly, his eyes full of fear.
I've been found?! God, how did that monster spot me?!
He had heard and seen everything Riku had just done and said he knew all too well what would happen if he were caught...
