Starting with No Game No Life: Infinite Chests

Chapter 79: Chapter 79

"Heh, true peace, huh?" Azazel shook his head slightly.

"Azazel, since when do you care so much about things outside the Three Factions?" Sirzechs sighed.

"The original goal of this summit was to unite against the threat of invasions from other pantheons and groups," Azazel said with a wry smile.

"But now that things have developed this far, if I were to refuse, I'd be completely out of line." Azazel let out another sigh.

It was true if there was one leader, no matter how much chaos there was, things wouldn't get completely out of control. But all the other gods are prideful; who could possibly subdue everyone?

Thinking this, Azazel's eyes flickered as he glanced at Riku. Someone who could defeat all the devil powerhouses at once, maybe it was really possible.

Whatever, what I need to focus on is protecting the Fallen Angels.

Clearing away those thoughts, Azazel finally said, "I'm willing to represent the Fallen Angels and submit."

"Not bad." Riku finally nodded in satisfaction.

If Azazel had refused, Riku wouldn't have gone so far as to exterminate all the Fallen Angels, but a demonstration would have been inevitable.

Azazel was a smart man; he knew what would happen if he refused, so he made the decision on the spot.

Seeing Azazel agree, everyone present fixed their gaze on Riku, their hearts unable to settle.

To rule over all three factions was something no one had ever even dared to imagine. Yet Riku had accomplished it so easily, and without a single drop of blood spilt.

"Well then, let's move on to the next phase." However, after pulling off such a world-shaking feat, Riku himself showed no sign of pride, remaining perfectly calm.

This left everyone deeply impressed.

At that moment, the space around them turned grey, and everything froze in place.

The next instant, Riku raised an eyebrow, activated a special technique, and instantly restored time and space to normal. "That was a time stop just now?" Azazel frowned.

"Looks that way. Clearly, someone doesn't want us to unite. Too bad they acted too late," Sirzechs said, shaking his head.

Everyone turned to look at Riku. Indeed, it was too late.

"Looks like a whole bunch of small fry showed up this time," Riku said, walking to the window and gazing outside with a playful smile.

BOOM BOOM BOOM !!!

Suddenly, explosions and sounds of battle erupted outside.

Because Riku had instantly undone the time stop, the guards of the Three Factions weren't taken out like in the original story. Instead, they were able to fight back against the attackers.

Now, all throughout the academy, countless magicians were fighting against angels, devils, and fallen angels. While every guard from the Three Factions was powerful, there were just too many enemy magicians, and each one was at least as strong as a mid-level devil. The guards were being suppressed.

"A time stop… Not good, Gasper's in danger!" Rias suddenly realised, her expression changing.

"Gasper?" Sirzechs frowned. "Now this is trouble."

"Gasper?" Azazel asked Rias.

"He's my Bishop, and his Sacred Gear is 'Forbidden Balor View' it can stop time. Because of some special reasons, he's been sealed away. Only he can cause a time stop like that, so he was probably captured and forced to make his Sacred Gear run wild," Rias explained anxiously.

"With me here, nothing will happen to him. Calm down, Rias." Riku said gently.

"Okay." As if his words held a mysterious power, Rias and the others took a deep breath and calmed down.

"What an annoying bunch," Azazel muttered as he joined Riku at the window, looking up at the swarms of magicians in the sky. With a casual wave of his hand, a rain of tiny light spears instantly wiped out all the magicians inside the barrier.

But in the next moment, hundreds and thousands more magicians appeared.

Azazel attacked again, wiping them out, but again, a new wave appeared.

Everyone frowned clearly. The enemy was extremely well prepared.

"To be able to infiltrate the barrier set up by Michael, Serafall, and Azazel so easily, and to send in so many magicians at once, there aren't many people in the world who could do that. In fact, there's only one explanation…" Riku said calmly.

Everyone instantly realized the truth, their pupils contracting. In unison, they said,

"There's a traitor among us!" Azazel said with a troubled look, glancing toward Vali.

"That's right. If there weren't a teleportation magic circle here connecting to the outside, there's no way these small fry could have gotten in," Riku said casually.

"Vali, you're quite a capable mole, aren't you?" Riku turned to the White Dragon Emperor, Vali, and spoke slowly.

"What?!" Everyone stared in shock, shooting sharp glances at Vali.

"You figured it out right away, huh?" Vali made no attempt to deny it, smiling as he admitted it on the spot.

"Vali, so it was you after all…" Azazel sighed in exasperation. "I always knew you'd do something shocking sooner or later, but I didn't expect it to be this soon."

"Sorry, I was intercepted on my way back. The other side seemed more interesting," Vali said, undaunted by the pressure from everyone present, and then dropped a name: "Khaos Brigade."

"Khaos… Brigade?" Hearing this name, Sirzechs, Azazel, Serafall, Michael, and the others all reacted, their eyes growing even sharper as they stared at Vali.

Only Riku's expression remained unchanged; in fact, the corners of his mouth curled upward, as if in anticipation. After all, the Khaos Brigade included a certain adorable dragon he was interested in.

"The Khaos Brigade, huh. I was collecting and researching Sacred Gears specifically to defend against them, but I didn't expect they'd attack us directly," Azazel said with a sigh.

"As for the Khaos Brigade, I know a fair bit about them. They have several Sacred Gear wielders, some with Longinus-class Sacred Gears. Their leader is a dragon even stronger than the Two Heavenly Dragons: the Ouroboros Dragon, Ophis—the infinite dragon who's been the most powerful being since the beginning of this world."

As he said this, Azazel stared intently at Vali and gave a wry smile. "I never expected even you, the White Dragon Emperor, to join them. Since when do the Two Heavenly Dragons take orders from another dragon?"

"I haven't submitted to anyone. It's just that the other side suits me better, that's all." Vali replied without hesitation.

"But I didn't expect the god here to be so interesting, too." As he said this, Vali also glanced at Riku.

"Looks like there's nothing left to talk about," Azazel sighed.

"If you seek the thrill of battle, why not join me?" Riku looked at Vali, speaking lightly. "As for the Khaos Brigade, apart from Ophis and a few others, the rest are nothing but a bunch of clowns."

Uh…

Everyone was momentarily speechless, giving wry smiles. The world's most terrifying terrorist group, the Khaos Brigade, being called a bunch of clowns? But if Riku was the one saying it, it didn't seem wrong.

"Challenging the world at your side doesn't sound bad. However, Riku, you're someone I want to defeat myself. I want you to acknowledge me from the bottom of your heart. Right now, you're not even taking me seriously, are you?" Vali said seriously.

"Seems we're at an impasse, then. In that case, I'll just have to eliminate you here." Riku said regretfully as he looked at Vali. "I'm looking forward to it."

As soon as he finished, Vali instantly entered his Balance Breaker form, bursting through the window and flying outside. "I'll be waiting for you out there."

Obviously, Vali didn't want to fight Riku in such a cramped space.

"Rias, as for rescuing Gasper, you can use the ability between chess pieces to teleport directly to Gasper's side for a rescue. Asia, Xenovia, Irina, you go with Rias and Sona to make sure nothing goes wrong." Without paying any mind to whether Vali might run away, Riku turned to Rias and gave his instructions.

"That's a good plan!" Everyone's eyes lit up at Riku's words.

"Rias, go ahead," Sirzechs said, giving his sister an encouraging look.

With determined faces, Rias and the others nodded, then disappeared into a crimson magic circle.

"Now, let's wipe out these annoying flies," Riku said calmly.

"Right." Everyone present nodded in agreement.

Just as everyone was preparing to act, an orange-black magic circle appeared in the meeting room, causing everyone to narrow their eyes.

"Heh, how laughable sworn enemies from the Three Factions, all gathered in one place." From the magic circle emerged a woman dressed in elaborate, elegant robes.

"Katerea Leviathan, you've joined the Khaos Brigade too?" Serafall said with a bitter smile.

"What's going on?" Sirzechs asked, though he already had his suspicions.

"Most of the old Satan Faction have joined forces with the Khaos Brigade," Katerea Leviathan replied, eyeing Sirzechs and Serafall with contempt and provocation. "To take back what is rightfully ours, we plan to use the Khaos Brigade to destroy you all."

Riku gave Katerea Leviathan a look of utter disdain. A mere pseudo-Maou-level person, daring to act so arrogantly in this situation, where did she get the courage?

"You're the new God of Heaven, Riku, aren't you? Are you looking down on me?" Katerea Leviathan snapped, angered by Riku's undisguised contempt.

"That's right, I am looking down on you," Riku replied coolly. "I honestly don't know where you get the nerve to be so arrogant. 'Big boobs, no brains' probably describes a woman like you perfectly."

That blunt comment made everyone's lips twitch.

Serafall couldn't bear to look, turning away and silently mourning for Katerea Leviathan in her heart. To dare provoke Riku, you've really got guts.

"You bastard!!" Katerea Leviathan's expression twisted, her face full of murderous intent. "I'll kill you, I'll definitely kill you!"

With that, Katerea Leviathan pulled out a vial from her bosom and swallowed the black snake-like thing inside.

Instantly, her power began to surge at a terrifying rate, causing the entire school building to tremble.

If not for Serafall, Michael, and Azazel maintaining the barrier, the place would probably have been demolished already.

"That's Ophis's snake!" Azazel's pupils contracted, his face grave.

"Heh, I just borrowed a little power from the Infinite Dragon God. This feeling is amazing!" Katerea Leviathan seemed intoxicated by her own power. "God of Heaven—die!"

The next moment, she raised her staff, gathering an enormous amount of magic into a bolt of lightning, firing it directly at Riku.

Crack!

Faced with the attack, Riku merely responded with a calm, casual punch.

In an instant, the space collapsed. The lightning was instantly shattered, and the immense force of the punch turned the previously arrogant Katerea Leviathan into a mist of blood, obliterated in a single blow. The attack even pierced the barrier maintained by Serafall, Azazel, and Michael together.

"Even after swallowing the 'snake,' you're just a weakling at Maou-level. I really don't know where you got the courage to challenge me." Riku said indifferently.

"—!"

Azazel and Michael, who had never witnessed Riku's true strength before, were left wide-eyed, completely stunned.

A Maou-level opponent, instantly obliterated by a single punch. And they hadn't even registered what happened…

This must only be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Riku's true power. No wonder all the devils, even when united, lost so completely. Azazel finally processed it and could only sigh in awe.

As for Serafall, she trembled. She had thought Riku would let Katerea Leviathan go after all, even though Katerea had been disciplined before, Riku hadn't killed her, and there were even some rumours about them. Serafall thought Riku didn't like to kill women.

She never expected Riku to turn Katerea Leviathan into a blood mist so decisively!

Suddenly, Serafall felt a sense of relief. Maybe getting "disciplined" by Riku wasn't so bad… If she'd pushed things a bit too far back then, maybe she'd be nothing but a stain of blood now, not even a corpse left behind…

Unknowingly, Serafall had long since stopped feeling any urge to resist Riku's "discipline"…

"It's time to take care of the last bit of trouble." Under everyone's gaze, Riku said calmly.

With that, he vanished from his original spot, reappearing in mid-air, standing above the battlefield, his eyes calmly locked on Vali.

"As expected, you really are way too strong…" Vali's fighting spirit had not diminished, even after seeing Riku instantly obliterate Katerea Leviathan, who, after consuming Ophis's "snake," was still no weaker than Vali in his Balance Breaker state.
